Ambiance of Maitland in my opinion is a long way from being ready to take more residents at this time. They are in the middle of a massive renovation and remodel. I truly can't imagine it being finished for at least 9 months to a year. That being said, it should be very nice when it's finished. Currently I wouldn't send someone there.

The staff was great, although the front office staff were horrible. The receptionist provided some bad information and was unprofessional. We felt like there was a cover up. We also thought the director was very rude. The care giving staff, that were part of the memory care house were pretty good. The staff from the non-memory care side was significantly less equipped to care for our father. Some of the care giving staff did do a good job with my dad and seemed to really care for him. Those staff seemed to not be treated well by the management, however, so many of them left over time. They did seem to do a good job keeping the community clean. During the holidays, the activities director put up decorations and put on a really great event. At this event, the director and receptionist did not engage with the residents or families at all. They both fixed a plate of food and left without talking to any of us.

So far have not really been impressed at all. Granted my dad was only there a week before the COVID-19 quarantine started so I don't have much to go on. Never saw anyone doing any activities - only placed out in front of the group TV.

Disappointed

Dad was in the memory care side. Was disappointed in the care given. Never once did I see anyone doing any activities except sitting in front of the television. Unfortunately, his health declined shortly after moving there so he had to go to a skilled nursing facility.

Investigators say 46-year-old[name removed], executive director of the facility, was arrested Friday and charged after deputies uncovered what they describe as a pattern of theft from older residents. I would also like to add that Arya didn't inform us of this situation we found out on our own. They did not send out an email or anything to know what happened or what they were doing about it.

There have been at least six MC directors in three years. 2020 to 2023. [name removed] was investigated by Adult Protective Services due to a unreported fall that resulted in a broken leg. The MC staff and director should have better knowledge of how to turn the bedridden residents, how to dress residents who have pain, and how to cut up food for those who can no longer use utensils. Food for those who can feed themselves with utensils is usually very good. The activities are good. The outdoor area for the MC is small, hot, and with sad landscaping. The MC office is lackadaisical with many wrong phone numbers and misplaced paperwork. The ladies at the sign-in area are the best! Since I have another family member in another MC facility in Tampa so I can say that [name removed] MC staff is not up to the standards that they should be as caregivers.

Do your job

Not happy with Sonata Hunter's Creek. No one seems to know anything. The staff is lazy in the upper management. They have no interest in my dad's welfare. We cannot find his dentures while in transportation to the hospital. We will have to get new dentures and I am sending the bill to Sonata. He also lost his baseball cap. Nurse [name removed] and nurse [name removed] are not trustworthy. They steadily tell you what you want to hear. But we are no fools. [name removed], the Director, is also the same. Smile in your face. All these businesses do is take your money. My mom, who is 81 years old, is constantly asking questions about dad's concern. All they say is that he is alright. We see through them all.

Review for Tessera of Brandon

I would not recommend this facility for memory care. The food served to the memory care residents was not the same quality as the food served to the assisted living residents. The staff failed to secure my aunts room resulting is many items being taken from her room to include jewelry, hearing aids & food/juice. Reported concerns were repeatedly ignored. I relocated my aunt after 4 months at the facility.

Disrespectful and rude CNAs

I don't have enough space in this box to share the horrible, less than mediocre care my mom received from the CNAs. Frequent falls and UTIs are what they stand for. If you have a love one that you care about, AVOID this beautiful place. I felt so sorry for how these CNAs were embarrassing [name removed] with their lack of care for these residents who frequently fall and have UITs. The food was the ONLY thing that was great! Thanks to Chef [name removed].

Horrible place!!

I would give this nightmare a negative 5 if that were at all possible! After spending thousands of dollars a month to secure care and safety for my mother-in-law, this place did not fulfill any of their promised expectations! They claim to be experts on dementia care, but regularly allowed my mother-in-law to be physically assaulted, often blaming her for their lack of supervision. Many times we would show up and she would be covered head to toe in her bodily fluids with staff completely unaware. They also on several occasions mixed up her medication’s because of their poor recordkeeping. This place is horribly under staffed. Every time we tried to work with them, to address these issues, they made promises that they would not fulfill, and excuses as to why things were never their fault. After trying for several months, we realized that she was not safe there and have moved her out much to their somehow surprise. They really only care about the money! They have no idea how fortunate th

We toured Ambiance at Maitland when searching for a Memory Care facility for my father. Based on our observation from our tour, this facility was kind of scary. However, it was one of the more affordable facilities that we toured.

Terrible Experience

I would strongly recommend to any prospective families to AVOID Providence and look elsewhere for memory care for your loved ones. It has gone downhill significantly since new management took over a few months ago. My mother was a resident there for about 18 months, one of the first residents when Providence started in the fall of 2021. They suddenly stopped caring for her deep into the progression of her illness, and while she was on hospice care, as she no longer "fit their criteria" regarding how much physical independence she still had at that point (although several other residents fit the same criteria). This occurred after she had been a very cooperative resident of the community and loved by all the staff. The worst part is they didn't even tell us they wouldn't move her or change her any longer. They just stopped doing it and we found out through the staff, without the decency of a formal conversation with management.

Getting Mom out as soon as possible

The staff commented to me the other day “I just work here”. My mother has bruises, has knocked out a front tooth that no one seems to happen, and was allowed to lay in bed for several days with the flu. She has been over-drugged and is nearly always locked out of her room. While she is in the hospital we are going to try to find a different place for her. The sales people get you in these places, then they abandoned you and your parent to a non-caring staff.

We toured the property and many promises were made about up-coming renovations. Both buildings were in poor condition. This company purchased property in November of 2017 and have NOT made any needed repairs. AC was not working, building soffit was not attached (ready for a squirrel/rat infestation). Memory care staff was 30 residents with 2 workers. Building was not up to code. One maintenance employee maintains both buildings. [name removed] (sales and marketing) insisted on a deposit check in order to hold a room, [name removed] guaranteed she would not deposit the check until the 1st of the month. She deposited the check immediately, The Director of Operations insisted we would have to give her a 30 day notice even though we never took residency, PLEASE do not trust one word from sales/marketing or any staff member.

Terrified

If I could give 0 stars, that would be more fitting. When placing my Mother in this facility we thought this is a great place for her. They have since changed the administrator and several other key people. The place has significantly and drastically changed. It is solely about the almighty $$$!! The administrator is simply a bean counter and has NO INTEREST in what is going on with the residents well being. Activities have been drastically reduced, quality of the food has gone down. Not to mention the fact that their med techs are overworked and really don't seem to care about dispensing medications properly. My Mother was given ear drops to put in her EYES! When they were asked questions about her medications they say they don't have time to review. BIG NO NO! When we noticed she seemed to be over medicated it was found out she was receiving double what she was prescribed. OMG?? Are you kidding??? Oh and don't even ask how many licensed personnel they have on staff at one time- they WILL NOT GIVE YOU A STRAIGHT ANSWER! By Florida law they are required to have a certain amount of licensed personnel at a given time. The fact we were not given an answer at all to that question leads us to believe it is not the required amount. Steer clear of this place! They are more concerned about adding a nice big chandelier in the lobby and replacing gently worn furniture with new furniture than the wellbeing of the residents and making sure their staff is happy. Happy staff= quality care= Happy and well cared for residents. Many of the good staff have literally walked off the job. DO NOT PLACE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER HERE!
