They are doing pretty good. I really like the facility, it's really nice and clean. My mom seems to be very content. I'm glad she is there. She is eating well, and seems to be well cared for.

It’s good that it’s geared towards people with Alzheimer’s disease. They have activities geared towards helping to engage memory and mental stimulation. The best features are that it’s very clean and the staff is very friendly.

The facility specializes in memory care and seems to be designed to meet my loved one's needs. It's designed so that each resident has a small, cozy room that's part of a "house" that has several common areas. The residents are strongly encouraged to socialize and participate in group activities, rather than spend time alone in their rooms. The staff is patient and unfazed by the special needs of those with memory challenges. There's a good mix of people, and I think my loved one will enjoy the social interaction and feeling of independence that will keep her vibrant. The indoor and outdoor spaces are available for the residents to enjoy in any way they want. The easily-accessible quaint outdoor area is safe for residents to wander around and it's beautiful when the weather is warm.

Staff/care has been very good. Cleanliness of bathroom has been an issue, seems like the bathroom always smells. Activities has been very disappointing .

My experience with memory care facilities is that they can vary significantly in the level of care and cleanliness, ranging from adequate to marginal. Unfortunately, some staff members seem to simply be going through the motions, while others genuinely show compassion and concern for the residents. Those who truly care seem to be the exception. I understand that this is a difficult and demanding job, often with limited pay and opportunities for advancement. That said, the nursing staff at this facility have been kind, professional, and seem to genuinely care about the residents. I have no complaints regarding the nursing staff and appreciate the care they provide.

The staff, for the most part, are caring, friendly, and qualified to care for dementia patients. The head nurse is especially good to work with and responsive. A doctor (NP) visits once a week and is also very good. Therapy is available from Bayada or Fox, and the therapists are generally quite skilled. Aides administer medications at no extra cost and manage filling prescriptions as needed. The facilities are brightly colored and cheerful, with spaces for relatives to meet with residents outside of their rooms. The facility is currently getting a facelift, so it is a bit noisy at the moment, but generally it is very quiet and peaceful. It is very unusual to hear shouting or crying out from the residents. The outdoor areas are enclosed and nicely landscaped, with patio seating and birdfeeders, and residents are free to wander outdoors. Each bedroom has a private bathroom with a toilet, shower stall, and vanity. There is decent natural light and good artificial lighting. The living spaces are rather small, with room for a single bed, recliner, dresser, and nightstand, but not much else. The bathroom is also rather cramped and can be difficult to navigate with a rollator or wheelchair. Showers are always assisted by aides, who provide sponge baths as needed. Showers are given twice a week, although three times a week would be preferable. The laundry service is generally pretty good, although cleaning could be done more frequently and more thoroughly. I find it important to visit rather frequently to check on upkeep, including laundry, bathroom supplies, and trash, and to be an advocate for my mother. There are activities every day, both morning and afternoon, including movies, sing-alongs, quiz games, and exercises. Exercise sessions are provided every morning, and the staff manages to get the majority of residents to attend, although participation is not always very good, especially if the activity is not being led in person. There is not a lot of socialization or conversation between residents, and the men are especially non-talkative. The meals are reasonably substantial and OK, although nothing special and fairly caloric, which is intentional as they try to keep residents from losing weight. Snacks are available throughout the day. A new cook was hired, and the food is getting better. A support group for relatives has recently been formed, which is a big plus, and it meets monthly. There is also an in-house beauty salon for hair and podiatry, with a beautician visiting once a week. The support staff appear to be short-handed, especially with increasing occupancy, although it seems they have been trying to keep up staffing with new hires. The facilities manager recently left, and a replacement has not yet been found. There is currently a temporary manager from corporate who is much more responsive than his predecessor, and I hope they find a permanent manager who is just as good. Residents with more advanced dementia can sometimes get lost within the building and wander into other residents' rooms. Cameras are located in the bedrooms over the beds to monitor falls. There are no call buttons in the rooms, but when dealing with residents with dementia, this is understandable. There is no transportation provided for doctor or dentist appointments. There can also be long wait times at the default ER, even for a minor fall. There is a better alternative to the default, but you need to request it. The facility does not get directly reimbursed by LTC insurance, so payment in full, invoicing, and reimbursement from the insurer are the responsibility of the customer. It is rather expensive for the size and quality of the living space and furnishings. One major consideration for choosing Arden Courts was the convenient location. Overall, there are many positives, particularly the caring staff, dementia-focused care, activities, and secure outdoor spaces, but I do feel that frequent family involvement and advocacy are important.

Friendliness. This varies greatly between the staff. All the residents are very friendly with each other and everyone living here seems to get along well. Some of the staff are excellent and go out of their way to be helpful and friendly, the caretakers are generally very friendly, the med techs are mostly friendly, but the ancillary staff, housekeeping, maintenance, and dining can be downright nasty. Management gives the false appearance of listening and caring, but is more interested in facility appearance, selling rooms to new residents, keeping the facility full, and profits rather than resident comfort and care. Quality of care. Again, very greatly. Some residents seem to be favorites of the staff and get great care and attention. Others seem to be ignored. Daily care: bathing, hygiene, dressing, meals, and medications are well taken care of, but many of the residents have significant medical issues that are not being addressed. Many are too demented to realize they have these issues that need attention while others seek medical care and are not receiving the level of care that they should. One RN on duty around the clock and one nurse practitioner who is only here for several hours, three days a week. Medical care is lacking. The food is all generally excellent and made on premises. Restaurant style eating with a menu to choose from at each meal. The problem is that the facility is often out of certain food items or run out of certain food items during the meals keeping popular food items in stock seems to be an issue to appease the heavily Jewish population here baked fish is available at all meals and is one of the 2 menu offering at each meal. If you don't like fish and don't like the other menu auction being served, you are left with few choices to eat. Until recently, Springhouse served hotdog and hamburgers at meals, which were very popular, but for some reason they have been removed from meals. It all comes depends on what you call 'quality of care'. Basic needs are met, but there is no effort to address active health issues or improve quality of life. As I mentioned, the administration is much more focused on keeping the building full, appearances, and maximizing profits than maximizing resident happiness, enjoyment, having stimulating activities and improving residence overall happiness, and satisfaction. Honestly, the activities here are horrible almost all activities are based on watching a TV screen in the "living room "which is a fancy name for residence to gather and sleep. There are almost no mentally or physically stimulating activities during the week and if one is scheduled, it often gets canceled. Springhouse publishes a daily list of activities with fancy names, but they are all basically watching TV or watching a video on TV. No encouragement to participate, no live human interaction, end of no stimulation to the residents. In a word, horrible. Extremely expensive and they just notified all residents that rent will be going up 25% in October. Services and quality of care are way down , while prices climb drastically. Minimal physical or mentally stimulating activities, minimal things to do other than read or watch TV. People get up, eat breakfast, watch TV, eat lunch, watch TV, eat dinner and go to bed. You could do that much cheaper at many other facilities. Overall, the resident here are very nice, generally well educated and wealthy, but most are too demented to relate their knowledge and life experiences to others. The majority of residence here are demented and minimally verbal. Basic needs are met in a beautiful, clean and environment, but services, stimulating activities, and medical care are severely lacking. A expensive but nice place to live if you are able to be independent, cognitive, able to demand and communicate the care you need, but if you're not able to do that, life here is pretty bland and depressing.

I wanted to add that the facility at Auberge is beautiful and by far the best we saw. Our family was really impressed by it. I wanted to let you know that we have decided to move my mom out of Auberge. My father in-law passed away a couple of months ago and he had been living with us. That left us the ability to take care of her with us. I know you want feedback on Auberge and honestly it is mixed. I believe they are understaffed with some patients that need a lot more help than my mother does. That made them need to focus on those patients while the rest just kind of are left on their own. She was fed and got her medication but we noticed she was sleeping in her day clothes and was not using the shower in her room. We know this because clothes were hung on the handicap railing for multiple days which did not move. My mom does not remember using the shower accept once when my daughter called and asked the new nurse about it. That day when I talked to my mom she told me about the three girls that came and helped her shower. Until then she never mentioned it. The activity director Philip is wonderful and works very hard trying to engage with everyone and they have several things going on there. My mom had some problems with a couple of other residents where they were taking her food and when she confronted them the lady slapped her. She is alright and hit back but is now scared to be there. I realize I dumped a lot on you but I thought I owed you some type of response. She is already out of the facility and with us at our house. We will be getting her belongings out over the next few week

At this time, I wouldn't recommend this facility. While there are some caring, dedicated staff members who genuinely make a difference, the facility often seems to be understaffed. As a result, the staff who are working frequently appear overwhelmed, which seems to affect the overall level of care. The food quality has been inconsistent, although I appreciate that fresh fruit is usually available at breakfast. The facility also offers daily activities, but I think residents would benefit if staff encouraged participation more consistently. Cleanliness is another area that could be improved. Rooms appear to be cleaned only about once a week, which doesn't seem adequate for residents with incontinence. I've also noticed unpleasant odors in the bathroom during my visits and have occasionally felt the need to clean it myself. I shared these comments during a particularly frustrating time, but they reflect concerns I've observed over time. My hope is that the facility addresses these issues, because there are employees here who truly care and have the potential to provide an excellent experience with better support and staffing.

The staff is well-intentioned and genuinely cares about the residents. However, the corporate management team appears to be in a startup or transition phase, which has made them difficult to reach at times. I would recommend this community with caution, as there is room for improvement in communication and administrative support.

The care seems to be fine, facilities and activities are good. However, the lack of responsiveness to us as the family handling everything is kind of crazy. Despite turnover in management, it's almost impossible to get someone on the phone to answer questions or discuss treatment options, etc.

It's fine. Short staffed causes delays in attendance to residents. Very nice admin staff. The admin staff seems very nice.

I visited twice, the second time was a lack of communication, and they never contacted us to go back over pricing.

Before move-in, staff assured us repeatedly they could redirect combative residents and arrange inpatient stays for medication adjustment. Neither happened. Instead they added drugs that worsened confusion and falling without helping behavior — then attributed the decline to disease progression. The inpatient option became "not that easy to arrange." Detailed intake forms on food preferences are ignored. He couldn't get daily coffee unless he attended group activities. Promised hourly checks, but camera footage showed 8-hour gaps with no one opening his door, 12+ hours between brief changes, and after a fall he lay on the floor calling for help for 90 minutes. Tellingly, checks, bathing, brief changes and room cleaning by Arden Courts improved significantly once outside hospice was involved. Some staff were genuinely skilled and he wasn't combative with them. But there weren't enough of them. Fine for cooperative residents. Not great for behavioral symptoms.

Everyone was always friendly,treated the residents with respect. Floors always seemed to be in need of mopping. Care was lacking, showers not given repeatedly after discussing with staff there was no change . Food always looked good, residents seem to enjoy meals. Activities ok, did not have opportunity to observe many. Cost seems in line with other facilities

The rooms were comfortable and safe. My sister had a courtyard view and we were able to place a bird feeder where it was visible for her. The hallway is circular with spikes leading out from four corners to the different living areas. Which i felt was confusing if you weren't cognizant of which area was yours. The outdoor courtyard was very well maintained with several comfortable seating areas. Each living area had its own dining room. The had 4 residents to a table. My sister's dining room may not have had adequate supervision because they called me and said she choked on french toast. Then I found out they called her PCP and was requesting a diet change. I later heard they were concerned about an aspiration. Which prompted me to remove her from the facility. Some of her clothes were damaged and some I never got back. They quoted me one price and billed me a higher rate. The staff I found to be very friendly upon first meeting but later visits they were hard to locate and seemed indifferent to my concerns.

The care my sister received when she was alive was just fine, but the way everything was handled when she died was horrendous. I don't know who the person was that made the notification of her death, but she called in the middle of the night, which was fine, but I explained I was out of town and she called back a half hour later wanting to know when the funeral director would be picking up her body, telling me there were state rules that it had to be done in a certain time frame. Surely it could have waited until morning, but I did make the arrangements to have her picked up ASAP, even before I made arrangements to get home. I think it could have been handled much better.

The place was clean and food acceptable. Management was largely unresponsive to issues, nursing was all contracted out so no accountability, no surveillance cameras or electronic alerting

#1-overall experience: 3. However I didn't venture in to this with expectations greater than a 3. After all, it is a nursing home! #2-Cleanliness of the facility: 4. I would almost consider 5 if it were not for the filthy TV room furniture. That furniture was absolutely horrible. #3-Friendliness: 5. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. #4- Quality of Care: 4. Too few staff. The staff was not able to adequately contrpl residents. #-Admin. Staff: 5, although the sales staff was a bit aggressive regarding an up sale. #6-Food: 5. #7-Activities: 5. #8-Value for the money:#8-Value for the money: 3-4. Much too expensive for what it is. Compared with other similar facilities in the area, the facility is small, out dated it is in need of new furniture and a face lift. A larger dining area should be considered, as well as an updated lounge/TV room. Perhaps an updated bathing area for the residents. One must remember that Arden Courts is a nursing care facility and not ones home. No different than other such facilities. Although I had no idea what to expect when I considered moving my loved one into this type of facility, I was taken aback when I left my girl there. I knew I was not capable of taking good care of her and that this was probably my only choice. It deeply saddens me that so many of our elderly are left abandoned in nursing homes, while begging to leave. I don't have the answer...I wish I did. My [Name removed] is gone now. She finally got to leave there. As for me, I'll do whet ever it takes to avoid being placed in a nursing home facility.

The head of nursing & director were great in beginning. Although was told things that weren't true. They were very consumed with a new system they were moving too at the time my father was there. My dad was given medication he wasn't supposed to be given at times, I feel to knock him out. My dad was there not even two weeks. He went to inpatient hospice from there and passed. Too much to text that went on there. Most of all inadequate supervision most of the day. I believe he fell out of bed and we were not told. No communication between hospice and staff. I could go on. The director was helpful in getting me my refund for the time we paid that he didn't stay there. They were nice, just didn't perform the way I was told. Clothes went missing, left him bed at times. When we were there no one checked on him. They said they checked every hour on hour that was a complete lie. Again in the two weeks I was there I was not impressed. Which is sad.
