Like a senior high rise, with care. Private apartments. Van, offered help in shower, medication, lifeline, art center, restaraunt style dining, plus country kitchen. Make bed, laundry, cleaning. Room rate studio $3300. If needed, medication management extra $195. On Route 51, down from Baldwin High School. Near St Elizabeth's Church, which holds catholic services at center. Offered advice that hospital stay can be followed by 21 days in rehab center paid for by Medicare to build strength. Note brochure shows semiprivate at $2500.

No kitchen is the only negative.

This facility has made me feel very comforatable with the care of my Mother. I believe she will be very happy here, I know I am.

It is lovely but I think that I am too young for it. They sent me home with 4 cheesecake tarts...ummm good!

The director listened to me and asked questions concerning my aunt. She seemed knowledgeable in all aspects of the residence. The residence was clean and fresh looking.

I thought this was a great place. Large apartments, reasonably priced, attractive surroundings, nice people.

Atria Eastlake Terrace was visited previously by the family. It was considered as a possibility for both. Biggest issue it does not present a care continum, nursing facility is run by a different part of company and is located nearby.

This is also among my choices. I like Marion Woods very much.

My sister and brother in law went to visit this place. They have it listed in the top two. So now the decision is between this place and the other.

More expensive but better care (in my opinion). We have been in close contact with them, have seen the facility and like it a lot.

BROOKDALE was a good Haven for me. I was able to have physical therapy while I was there and that was super once I started using a walker I was able to get around everywhere. I also had an electronic device for traveling around. It looks clean, but the cleaning staff uses a dirty mop. It's pretty disgusting that they aren't cleaner. The staff seemed very friendly and nice. You had to be friend the folks in on Saturday and then they would be nice to you. The meals were horrible. They were very high in salt and the vegetables were completely overcooked. The salads were limp and unacceptable. If you got a can of drink and asked the white people to leave the can. They would which is a good thing. While I was there, my blood pressure which is normal, spiked very high in a number of months because of the food quality. I forgot to mention in number three, many of the wait staff in the cafeteria were horrible. One lovely woman by the name of [name removed] was a true charmer and a great lady, but there were a lot of really rotten people there. There were a lot of activities, but I didn't take advantage of them because I was busy with Physical Therapy and my own personal stuff reading, etc. Also, I had dogs with me and they took up a lot of my time. But they were organized trips to restaurants and concerts. Many card games and Mahjong.Bingo Concerts Clothing sales in the great room of the main building. There was also a hair salon where you can get services, including manicures. The value for the cost was very good. I had a one bedroom but after a while, my husband who was still supervising the house build out, came to stay with me. The administrative staff knew he was there, but they did not charge me any more money. I was the only one of us who ate in the cafeteris. After a while. I quit eating in the cafeteria and started preparing food for us in the kitchen of the apartment because the good they were serving was not healthful. I would still recommend cocktail. It's a beautiful campus and if you know how to work with the staff, you will enjoy your stay there.

I would recommend the community based on the level of care that your loved one needs. If your loved one needs basic needs this would be a good place. However, if your loved one needs anything additional other than the basic needs, the community doesn't have enough staffing to care for the residents full needs. There are three meals a day served to the residents and the residents have choices to choose from.
