Prestige Care

Size was good. Rooms were okay. 2 room studio available. Views onto new planting were okay. Tour guide, goofy but very nice.

Apt nice. Question mingling of assisted & independent living. Full Kitchen. Laundry down the hall.Will be remodeling common areas. Definite possibility

I would advise to look around else where at other communities. Once this community received the deposit it was like they got what they wanted and then the communication stopped. There was ongoing issues with them not doing what they needed to do. They are supposed to deliver meals and they keep forgetting. It took them a few weeks to fix her shower after she moved in. The communication between the nurse and the patient is pretty much non existent and is the same with family also. The communication is poor and if it was not such a big deal I would move my loved one. Once my loved one moved in they did not help her around or anything she was just basically left to figure it out.

We moved mom in at 2:00 p.m. on a Saturday. We had already moved her furniture in, so we were arriving with just mom and her personal effects. Her hospice worker stopped by a few hours later and discovered that no one had come in to meet mom or check on her. He went down and found a med tech and brought him back to mom's room. After they left, my sister and I decided to stay overnight, and we're so glad we did! By 10 a.m. the next morning NO ONE had come to check on mom, dispense her meds, or bring her any food. We called the public relations person and complained. One caregiver stopped by after that. However, the first thing she did was ask what mom's name was. Apparently she didn't even look at mom's file before she came in. When she saw mom was asleep, she left without taking any vitals or removing her meds from the room. A while later, someone from the kitchen came in to take her lunch order. They delivered it and picked up the tray later. We never saw another soul. Finally, at 3 p.m. I went down to reception and complained. Mom had been there for 24 hours and was receiving no care whatsoever. My sister and I had dispensed her meds (which were still in their original containers) and took care of her bathrooming needs. After that, three PAs came to mom's room to take care of her. Needless to say, we were nervous to leave mom alone there. Sadly, she passed away 10 days later, but because of our experience, I hesitate to recommend this place.

I toured this facility. They were okay. It just didn’t look like the same professional standards that other places had. It wasn’t bad, but it had an overall feeling that there wasn’t as much care being taken with cleaning and making it look nice. The person that gave us the tour was quite thorough, though. We ultimately did not choose it because it was an older facility and everything just looked old and worn.

They had some issues at the facility. They failed to shower my mother for three weeks. They did not clean her apartment or strip her beds, as they were suppose to in our agreement. They just claimed it was a communication issue. They have some employee issues and staffing issues though.

Let me this say that they are still having some issues and I would not recommend them just yet. At this point, I would rather not say exactly what the issues are, but hopefully we can get some things worked out.

From a family member & resident in Bend, Or: I am not complaining any more about the food as it does nothing to get it any better...one last time, we had "Pizza last night, mushroom & cheese....well, there were 3 mushrooms on mine a piece about 3 inches by 6 and covered with just plain tomato sauce no flavorings or spices...it was gastly and un-eatable to say the least. Crust was hard as a rock and tough.

I think the community has a lot of great energy. I think the residents are very friendly I think the staff is friendly The amenities and activities are great. If my friend was looking for somebody with high care I would go into more detail if my friend wanted she find a community for somebody on a low level of care I think it is a great place for them. If the Care staff hasn't already started additional training I would highly suggest that community works on skill level of ALL care staff. I do want to add that the memory care community which she did not live in from my experience is well run and a wonderful place to be. I had little interaction until the end.

I do not think there was enough oversight, but maybe she was too sick for the facility to handle.

Staff was often rude. Good was truly atrocious. They would come to my wife's room at 10-11 PM to do a shower. When she would express it was too late in the day, they would try to get her to sign a form saying she had refused the shower. BS. Food is not good. I will never recommend this facility.

We did not have a favorable experience. The list is long- mostly related to undertrained staff, staffing shortages and staff members who just had no business caring for a vulnerable elderly resident. There were some caring conscientious care givers, but that was not the norm. The facility may be OK for residents living independently, but completely unacceptable for residents who need a higher level of care.

Well since November 2023, I have been residing here, I do recommend that you research the place throughly. My kitchen was not workable : refrigerator door didn't close. Fixed after about a week ,counter tops were not sanitatary not sealed put on with DUCK TAPE! DOOR IS NOT THE RIGHT DOOR. ,,STOVE IS NOT LEVEL,SO ANY LIQUID RUNS TO ONE SIDE ( not good when you have no arm strength) . laundry room DRYERS NOT ALL WORK ( been 8months still not working! I am on a No sugar no salt I eat my own food! ??. I could go on but you get the idea.! Manager has call my daughter suggesting ,I move since I m not happy . The working staff , kitchen ,room girls and the residents are THE BEST to live with BUT??

My mom was at Auburn Meadows from [date removed] –[date removed] (passed). Did not comply with service level agreement and did not communicate regularly about my mom’s well-being (lack of appetite, missed meals).

As we called to check how my mother was doing since unable to get a whole of her. All we needed just someone like a caregiver nearby her to check on her when they had a chance if she was doing okay ( our mom is diabetic on pill control)or caring a phone with her as we could call to check with her then. One of front desk lady named responded to our call stating " we're having a staff alert that we cannot do anything for your mother except to send out an email to [name removed]( Director of the Assisted Living) to arrange a staff to check on your mother later "?!!! Just wondered what would you feel when a front desk person responded to you for your loved one who has been in their care called assisted living?

I didn't like their communication. They ended up denying our loved one based on behavioral issues, but it took them about three weeks to get back with us to let us know that. I think they could have been more upfront with that information sooner.

You must be VERY careful about what you sign and agree to. We were not told that you pay EXTRA for every little thing such as being reminded to go to dinner, cleaning your glasses, etc. Anything they advertise, such as transportation to and from dr. appointments, you are charged extra.

Giving this 4 Stars to make sure this review displayed. I would actually give this community 2 stars. Proceed with Caution! Respite Care was needed for our loved one, his wife & primary caregiver was scheduled for a major surgery. Full payment was required in advance. The intake process with the nurse at Prestige was a great experience, they understood his needs for medication, assistance with dressing, bathing and the restroom. They also confirmed a private room with a TV. The community is clean and updated. Upon check-in, the agreed upon arrangement of a TV in the room was not set up, but they promised they would get it taken care of. The following morning, we stopped in and he was still in his clothes that he was wearing when he arrived, his medication had not been administered, he indicated that it took forever for someone to answer the call cord to assist him with the restroom, he was helped to the restroom but no assistance was given for incontinence and resulted in him soaking wet overnight. The staff said there had been a misunderstanding and that they fully understood what needed to be done. Later that day, another family member stopped in and the staff did not know if he was there let alone what room he was in. They questioned whether we had the correct community and perhaps he was staying somewhere else. There was a lot of texting among staff to figure out where he was. There still wasn’t a TV in the room. Management took all day to return our calls from the morning. It was finally a call from the corporate office asking us to give them another chance. At this point, trust had been broken and we removed our loved one from this community. A refund was issued several days later. This community has good reviews, but there are no reviews from actual residents. The staff (very young staff) to resident ratio seems very low. I urge you to look at the job posting sites like Indeed. This company has horrible reviews from employees. I do not recommend Prestige Senior Living High Desert.

When I arrived, I found it to be unorganized, there was not available staff to either help or offer direction and some of the attitudes were negative as well. The facility has not reached out to me and did not communicate a plan when first arrived.

The rehab therapy is pretty good and it is helping. It's pretty clean but some things are falling apart here and there; it's an older building. Overall, the experience could be improved, there's not enough people. My loved one needs help to bathroom, and has to do it himself. The food is terrible. Have been waiting to hear back from them on insurance coverage.
