Prestige Care

There were concerns. They overestimated their abilities, to take care of memory care. They were just training their people while we were there, to be able to care for memory care. We would find her not changed, and a bowl of oatmeal in front her. They never once cleaned her dentures, even after repeatedly asking them to do so. Eventually a family member found her on the floor with a broken hip. I would not recommend anyone to go here.

Had a confirmed appointment. When I showed up for the tour Beth was not there. The receptionist phoned Beth and she was to call me back. Didn't happen. Poor communication no follow-up. Wouldn't have my mother there.

When mom lived there she never participated in anything. Her room back at the end of the hall and only came out for meals. The rest of the time she was sitting in bed watching TV. My mom lived there for years. She moved in when my dad was still alive and he passed away and so she was there by herself. There seemed to be an extreme amount of turnover in the staff there. When she first went in there I thought it was good but I didn't really have anything to compare it to. It just got to where her room was never clean and she wasn't clean so it was not good at all. I really felt like when I would call about things that they weren't being truthful with me. I really can't say anything good about them.

My mom was at Monticello park in Longview for a very short time less than a month and passed away the end of July a beautiful place but not very happy with her care while she was there

Please do not place your loved one here. My mother was ignored to death. She died due to dehydration. The staff complained about her diarrhea as if she were a naughty child. Instead of trying to resolve this. My mother did not feel thirst so she did not remember to drink. She also was nearly blind and could not tell the difference between water or lotion bottles. The supervising nurse would not let her have more than one soda a day. A soda she would drink for pleasure so my family provided her favorite diet soda for her. We understand soda is not the best but it is better than nothing. Because my mom liked Dr. Pepper the supervising nurse Mary said it was causing her diarrhea because it is just prune juice. There is no prune or any other juice in Dr. Pepper but this woman in my opinion let my mother die because she didn't want to change her ... For a lack of a better term ... Adult diaper. And little activities. I tried to get pet theory for the whole site and they didn't even try to follow up.

Horrible, charge for services that are not provided. We first moved our love one in and everything seemed fine the major staff changes (upper management) brought the roof down. Poor food senior staff that were untruthful and let me tell you we were charged for services not provided. No toilet paper in the bathroom shower curtain broken and not fixed for a month until we notified staff of the problem. You are paying for sub standard living. Rental Equipment lost and you are stuck with the bill $$$$. Sub Standard food (canned even when in season) filthy dining room (food on table and floors hours after service). We were told that the room was monitored if the door opened well we opened and closed the door for an hour and guess what no one showed up this was done on several occasions with the same result.

At first we felt this was a great place. Light open dining and suites. It didn't take long for everything to change. Our parent was charged for services that were not given, the place had negative vibes and even basics like cleaning etc. went down hill. Management was/is not honest and there was no regard for our parent. They lost her wheelchair, took over a month to fix her broken shower rod holder and I could go on and on. The damage done to our elderly parent because of OH can never be undone. It is SO SAD that people, who are in the business of caring for elderly people in need, DO NOT CARE. This is largely a review of those in charge, not necessarily the one on one care givers. Don't be taken advantage of because your family is in a desperate situation. Your loved one deserves better. And this place is the worst. I'm sorry, but it's true.

If you care for your family at all do not place them here. Nobody gets what they pay for and hidden charges come up. Barely anyone gets a shower because they only have 5 carestaff for all shifts because no one wants to stay. They accept two people transfers when they aren’t even suppose to so all the carestaffs time is spent with them. The food is crap and activities are a joke. Whenever I go in there I just see staff messing around and all of a sudden behave when I walk by. I’m begging you don’t move in!!!

If you care at all about your loved ones, you will keep them as far away from this place as possible!! Our mom was there for 3 years & the only reason she stayed that long is because I didn't have a car and my sister & I lived close to her. Great management would come & go, great care takers would come & go.... the bad ones stayed. We came to visit my mom dozens & dozens of times to find her with soiled pants, bedding and even floor! There was a lot of theft there, (one person went to jail). They did not serve fresh fruits & vegies, it was canned. We constantly had to bring mom food because Orchard Height's Prestige Living was so bad! There isn't enough space here to warn you of all the terrible encounters we had with them. We are VERY thankful though, that mom is now in a NEW facility that cares, attends & respects her the way any elderly person should be treated. (AND, they have really good fresh food!)

My father was in this facility due to a hip fracture. They were supposed to give him physical therapy but didn't help him. The "Doctor" switched his medications without permission, which made my father completely unresponsive and more ill. The nurses didn't come by to check on him for hours at a time, and failed to properly read his charts. They also didn't prop him up in bed correctly, which led to pneumonia. He is now at home peacefully with family under hospice care. I don't not recommend this facility at all. The employees do NOT follow directions!!!!

My significant other was there. My list of negatives could be endless. This happened about a year ago. Food was terrible. If I attended a meeting for residents about the food, I was told by the director it was none of my business and not to say anything although I ate there often and knew what was served. Food was bad and at times they had to send out for meals. My SO was on a sodium free diet. He was told they didn't make allowances for that and that he just shouldn't eat the things with a lot of salt. No alternatives were offered. At one point he did not have his night time insulin for about a week because they said the doctor did not answer their FAX. When I asked the nurse why they did not just call the doctor, she said she would end up on hold. I would think that common sense would tell anyone that the receptionist would have to check with the doctor before giving any advice. They said they could not reach him after 5PM. They never followed the instructions on the recording as to who to call after hours. Just waited about a week. After 5 PM they would just send him to the ER regardless of the problem. They even told him he could not check his glucose more than once a day even when he knew from experience it was high. At one point he asked me to help him change his clothes. His sweat pants were wet and literally soaked. Once off, I saw that his legs were triple their size and beet red and draining. Took him to the doctor the next day and he spent the next week in the hospital due to edema. How would it be that his bath aid did not see this? They would not allow a resident to accompany him outside because he could not get the door to open without help in his wheelchair. They said he could not go out alone if he needed help. [removed] So many lies they had about everything. [removed] I could go on but no need of it. I would suggest that if you have someone there, watch them very carefully. [removed]

Caregivers do a pretty good job but management gave us nothing but problems which does trickle down to caregivers too. It looks like a beautiful facility but I would rather have better care than looking good on the outside.

My father was living there for two years he passed away went to get his stuff from his room. I was very discussed when getting there he lived with one bed a broken down chair and reminded me for a a very rum down hotel room the man running the place very rude wouldn't answer questions the women was nice but her story and the mans story was very different they offered no help. Just for us to get our fathers stuff out. Even though he was still alive at that time. We live out of state was under the idea they were caring and taking care of him. WRONG. That place is only there for the money. Be careful

Took a tour of this building and I do NOT recommend moving your loved ones here. Unprofessional. [removed] The looks on some of the resident's faces as they attempted to eat the food. And the building overall seems poorly ran. I also noticed staff are more concerned about breaks. Unfortunately, dissatisfied and unimpressed.

Not happy with Monticello Park in Longview. My mom is living there and not receiving good care. No one is looking after her personal needs. When I visited her it was as if she had not showered in awhile, her clothes were dirty, and her toenails were very long. She also had not had a haircut. I had dinner with her and the food was terrible. The staff our rude with giving me only yes or no answers with no explanations are introductions to who they are. I will move my mother as soon as I am able too.

I absolutely cannot recommend Prestige Living at Southern Hills. My relative lived there for many years. When the new management took over, they started to be very rude and unprofessional to my relative. They tried everything they could to shame my relative to leave. The State Ombudsman said they violated his rights and we could sue them. [removed], the administrator bragged that when she took over, she moved 4 residents out of their home right away. (She was proud of forcing elderly people out of their homes). The care went downhill and there is always a very high staff turnover. The Management is extremely unprofessional - they don't answer emails, they deliberately moved meetings so they wouldn't have to meet with relatives, they went against hospital/medical advice, they failed to put safety items in care plans, they have made mistakes administering medications. Rather than deal with this unprofessional management, we moved our relative to a different assisted living facility. We didn't want our relative subjected to further shaming and [removed].

February 2015 The care staff is friendly, busy, very attentive and are constantly going back and forth to assist their residents. There's always new staff. Unfortunately, it seems there isn't enough help to carry on with activities of daily living. I noticed their current management doesn't seem to put their residents wishes, opinions and needs first; but money, overworking their staff and reeling in new residents instead. Ambulance visitation has increased, which is a bad sign. According to a family member who visited on occasion, the food quality is no good, disorganized and takes a long time to come out. Residents are constantly dissatisfied. The caregivers are trying, but it is not enough. There was no teamwork, support/help from supervisors, or communication from what was observed and it is VERY unfortunate for the residents who currently live there. I would not recommend putting your family in Southern Hills. You will pay a lot of money for poor quality service.

This place didn't take good care of my father. It seemed like they would never shower him. I couldn't stand to see him so dirty. Sometimes we even found him soaked in his own urine. His meals always arrived cold. We moved him out of there.
