Prestige Care

Prestige Senior Living is a clean community and the staff members are friendly. However, the room they provide for respite was terrible.

There are no clothes rods for the clothes in the clothes closet. There is no shower curtain There are no shelves in the medicine chest. I cannot figure out how a single person could navigate getting the care they need if they have Alzheimer's. Financially with the spend down it's a yes. For a couple where one doesn't need AL there is no stove or refrigerator. I had to buy both. There are some things I would recommend and others the fit was not right for a man with Alzheimer's.

I would not, most caregivers I know are great, don't know all, not the cleanest place, there has been a turnover in personal lately, why not sure (management????), They did allow us a 1 year spend down, which I am grateful for, would never made 2 years, and the cost of care increased often.

Bridgewood is a generally pleasant facility. The staff are helpful and well mannered, the building is maintained and adequate. The one thing I have a concern about is the food quality. Every time I speak with my parent living in the facility they complain at length about the poor quality of food and that nothing is being done to remedy the problem with the food quality. Warm food served cold, food that is much too salty, menu combinations not well considered, old fruit instead of fresh, the list goes on and gets worse. It pains me deeply knowing that my parent is not able to rely on the in-house food service for meals and instead has to shop for frozen foods at the local super market.

I picked this community because of the cost. Promise you the world to get you in, but then don't deliver. If you have someone in there, you have to be there daily to make sure all is good. If the person needs any help with their daily needs, it not a place for them. They have to be able to take care of themselves. I was told hospice would come in, but when I needed that, they couldn't accommodate it . I have lost all my faith in these care facilities. All they want is the elderly people money. I don't recommend any of them no matter how much you pay.

They failed to accurately assess my mother's condition. She needed a Memory Care facility not Assisted Living. As professionals in this area I depended on them. This failure led to my mother's condition worsening. While there she lost 16 Lbs. A total of 32 lbs lost in 6 weeks. She is better now.

When your parent first moves in, visit as often as you can so the little things don't get missed. It takes time for a routine to get established by both the staff and your loved one.

Our stay was short, my grandma needed to stay in assisted living till she could get up use to restroom and such solo while healing from a fractured hip. While there the agreement to use our pharmacy for her meds did not happen. She has 1 med that's prescribed to be ingested 30min prior to a meal and that didn't happen. Meds where giving in the dinning room am most cases. We prearranged a 9am pick up for an appt and had to wait an additional 20min for staff to get her meds to her before we could leave. The perks easy quick approval to move in. Friendly staff during move in. Their staff though was stretched thin and seemed over worked not able to rebound from the covid stresses of short staffing.

We have some hiccups with the facility, but the staff said that they are working on it. They continue to be friendly and the food here is ok, I have dined here before. The cleanliness of common areas is not perfect but better than some other places that we looked at previously.

I showed up for the tour and the gal who was supposed to show me around was not there. The front desk person ended up showing me around and she did the best that she could do, but she was not able to answer a lot of my questions I had. The disorganization off the bat kind of made me weary of placing a loved one there. I thought if they were disorganized on the tour, what else could they be disorganized on?

The only suggestion I would add for improvement is a bit more laundry help for someone with ALS. Also, someone to go in the room on the first day to help set up the way a specific patient needs it. I would definitely recommend this facility to family and friends.

The community was dark and gloomy. We did not see happy friendly faces.

The chef we have is marvelous, but her hands are tied by a menu that comes from the prestige group and it is hard to work around sometimes. They could also offer more activities for the residents

As in most of these places this is far overpriced. This community is also understaffed and management seems to be there for the bucks only. They have activities like bingo, and every once and a while someone comes from the outside to entertain. They also have field trips every once in a while for people in the community. This community is like most places they tell you a lot of wonderful things but in the end things seem different. I would recommend to hire someone and stay home.

At this point I would not recommend that people move here. I am hoping that things get better over time due to the recent turnover that they have had. The staff are great and my mother loves everyone here. Everyone is nice to her and friendly. The food is not good and the few times that I have been there when she has dinner it is just not good quality and does not look appetizing. I think that they could do better with the food and the hours that the food is available. I realize that there is a lot of turn over and the shut downs and I just feel like the communication could be better

Our family had an in person tour and we did not really care for it. The sales lady was a little to pushy and she kept suggesting higher levels of care for our loved one that we did not agree with. Also the community was undergoing construction which was fine, but in the hallway we saw some free standing furniture like a tall bookcase and we were worried about heavy items not being secured and falling over.

It felt like nursing home during the tour and was too expensive for us.

The meals could use some improvements, they are serving the residents a lot of carbs so they fill up on carbs and don't have room for the healthier foods. They also crash really quickly after. Also, we are not overly impressed with the care services. Both our parents are they, our father is very self sufficient, however our mother has on set dementia but our father is fully capable of caring for her and has been for years, but they are still charging us for level two care even though they are not doing anything. You definitely have to be very on top of everything they are changing, and it would also be nice to have more activities. We do know they were limited with covid but the staff could be more engaged and more encouraging with the residents.

Communication on some things was very good and on other things, the communication was very poor. My loved one had some medical changes while they were there and I was not contacted. I would not recommend using this community until after covid.

The staff are kind and personable. As is common in most assisted living facilities there are never enough trained care staff. This makes it often impossible to deliver on the services which are agreed upon up front. Our family member had to instruct the new untrained care staff on how to make a bed, how to assist in the shower, and how to handle soiled laundry. We expect a higher level of training, but in this facility there is constant turnover. Your loved one may 'fall through the cracks' and that's not a reflection on the people but the short-staffing practice by the Prestige corp.
