We looked here. It's nice, if you can afford it. Their services are all a la carte, and it adds up fast. They don't accept Medicare or Medicaid. It was clean and really nice, but expensive. I can't really rate the care services, or the activities.

Everyone at The Groves was very nice, we just had 2 issues. Overall it is a nice place with nice place with room to improve

Daniel island wasn't as bad, but drive time for family was a challenge. However, these roles (the general staff) are demanding. Not sure I could do it. I am no nurse. But the social interaction is really important. The physical and occupational therapy, access to physicians, etc... was a plus. Adhering to a schedule (meals, etc.) is important. Both locations provide those elements. But I challenge you to make everyone happy all the time.

We liked the size of facility and the friendliness of the staff. We disliked management overriding the food services order without notification. One statement I overheard was that we didn't require the quality of food ordered. That was our problem with the food service the quality was poor and no consideration for diabetics which accounted for about 60% of the residents. There I used pre cooked meals to support my meals. Charges continued to climb even when Director who recruited had told us in August that there would be no increase costs due to a profit. Within two months my rate increased by 10%. There were no improvements implemented. I was very disappointed with corporate with these changes that were not included in my contract. There many other instance where they continuously overridden local management. This led to qualified constantly leaving their employment. Bluntly stated, the landscaping was just glorified grass cutting service. I supplemented by purchasing blooming flowers which many residents acknowledge their joy for my contribution . We are older but our quality of life was not much concern of corporate management. Other facilities in the area do a better job in the above areas with little very much difference in cost. I am no longer at the Oaks due to decisions made by corporate management.

My husband's parents were there for about two weeks. The food wasn't much and they seemed very under-staffed. Activities were seldom happening and when they were, they were pretty underwhelming -- the "creative art activity" was unguided coloring with markers, for instance. My in-laws were ready to relocate as soon as their respite ended. The residents were sweet but the facility simply wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

My loved one was briefly a resident at Village Cove Assisted Living for respite care. I loved the staff. The rooms were a little small and the biggest complaint that my loved one had was that the food was not very good.

We toured the Oaks at Daniel Island when searching for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. This facility was okay. The staff at this facility was nice. However, we weren't sure this was the best fit for our loved one. We also noticed a smell during our tour, but the facility looked clean.

Last week of my loved one's life she was brought back from hospital on a Monday. I came to visit Tuesday, she was soaking in her urine, even pillow was soaked, she was freezing and could not move. Someone had brought her breakfast but did not check her. She died several days after the urine incident.

Based on our tour experience, I would not recommend Jenni-Lynn to others. The facility looked old and run down and needed major updates.

They are the nicest people in the world here. They are understaffed like a lot of companies are right now. Everyone has been kind and sweet to my loved one. My loved one may be requiring more care than what the family even anticipated for the community to take care of. The food was excellent for my loved one. I even think my loved one gained some weight while they were here. I didn't see a lot of activities going on for the residents to participate in. The staff did a good job in making sure my loved one received all their medications.

Didn't look clean

The facility was older, and the staff wasn’t as professional. Because of that, we felt it wasn't the right fit for our loved one. But I will say that the residents we saw appeared to be extremely happy.

This community is being updated and did not have any availability at the time of my visit.

A year and a half ago, we moved my mom to Village Cove. They made us feel welcome and I knew my mom was taken care of. Admin always knew what was going on. Recently, we moved mom to Harbor Cove. After problems with laundry and missing items, it seems better. I do think they need more care givers.

While the care is outstanding, the food is despicable. Nutrition is obviously not considered in the meals being served, which should be the top priority for this age group. My mom has to literally keep frozen dinners in her tiny freezer in order to eat some nights.

Personnel are kind but average; do not follow COVID protocol, even though they claim to be, very concerned about lack of attention to detail. Place smells from time to time.

Our family had an in person tour and Ivy Hall was comparable to the other facility we saw, and they had mostly studio sized apartments.

Our one complaint we had was with the telephone, because the communication was lacking a little, and the first time our loved one fell we were not notified until the next day.
