Athens Place is in my opinion the best Assisted Living Community in our area. Staff, facilities, food are excellent. The atmosphere is a loving, sincere, caring one that flows over to the residents. My mom is nearing her first anniversary there. We could not be more pleased.

Almost one year ago our family had to make a decision that has proved to be one of the best decisions ever. My mom moved into Athens Place last April. Athens Place has delivered on every promise they made to us and kept their word on each and every statement. We will be forever grateful that the folks at Athens Place love and care for our mom as if she were their own. Highly recommend every area of this community.

I have been very pleased with the care my loved one has received at Brookdale. The staff really goes out of their way to make the residents comfortable and respected. I go there pretty often, so I feel confident of her care. I would recommend Brookdale to anyone looking for an assisted living residence to trust.

My loved one is a new resident of the memory care area. I have been pleased with my loved one's physical care, a challenge because most there need a lot of assistance. I wish there were more attempts to engage residents in activities both physical and cognitively. The RA's however, for the most part have been very caring, smiling and laughing so important to all.

From what I saw in my tour, this is a lovely facility! It was beautiful and the people there seem nice. In the end, we did not choose it simply because of personal location preferences, but I would have been very happy placing my loved one here!

My friend has been living at Brookdale for over a year and I continue to be impressed. The staff have gone above and beyond in helping resolve any problems that have occurred. From the executive director, nurses, resident assistants and other staff, I get a genuine feeling of warmth and caring and all the residents seem to be well taken care of, I know my friend is. Activities, day trips, exercise groups, family nights, and even a committee where residents can voice any concerns they have add to Brookdale being the place my friend wants to stay. I am there at least twice a week so have had several opportunities to see interaction with staff, residents, volunteers and family members. My friend has told me on several occasions that she feels like they love her like family. That, along with the overall atmosphere of Brookdale gives me much relief in knowing my friend is safe and happy as possible.

After much research, we decided to put our Grandfather here. Amazing people. Warm, friendly everything you need for them to be when such a hard decision is being made.. Really nice place and lots for them to do. A blessing for my family!!

My mom moved to the Gardens of Statesville a few weeks ago and has been warmly welcomed by the community. I am very impressed with the friendly staff, the variety of activities, and the clean environment.

This was more of what my mom was looking for. It was more independent than Oak Park Retirement and it was a very nice place. My mom would get her own house with a garage, but the kitchen was not the best it needed some work done to it. She would choose this one over the Oak Park except it was too far away for her convenience.

It was an easy process to get her enrolled in there. They were very helpful. She complains about the food. She says the portions are small and it comes out cold. The nursing staff and the technicians are very helpful and very nice. Some of the waterpipes broke and they reacted immediately. They are right on top of things. It's bright and cheery. I don't get the hospital feeling in here.

My mother is in memory care. I know they do the best possible, but I think they should have at least a couple more caregivers on weekends. I feel very comfortable with the overall care and I am positive that they care about each resident and value them and take their individual care seriously and with compassion and attentiveness. I would not hesitate in recommend The Groves to family and friends. Please don't construe my answers. I have no criticism of anyone there. They are a blessing to our family. I cannot imagine the stress and strength it takes to make a facility like this a really great place. We are grateful for each person and their abilities to care for each individual with compassion and love.

Not enough nurses/techs. Mom's Parkinson's meds are needed at specific times, the staff is +/- 2 hrs at best. Very unresponsive to nurse call buzzers. Hopefully a staffing issue and not a training/attitude problem

I had an interview with a lovely lady, [Name Removed]. However, though thinking about memory care it is skilled nursing that we need. What I saw of the facility it was quite nice and very convenient to where we live.

Everyone is extremely friendly. I would highly recommend this facility.

All of the staff are extremely nice and go out of their way to help the residents. They work as a team to the benefit of the small community. Definitely recommend. Only thing to add is that the food is typically good but could be upgraded a little.

I would highly recommend the facility to anyone and have recommended them to several people, including going through A Place For Mom for assistance. They try to make each patient feel welcome and included in as many activities as that individual can do. The facility is well maintained. Offer such amenities as a hair salon on premises. However, I will say that to receive regular updates in regards to patient's medication's the family/caretaker must be proactive about that.

My loved one made steady improvement during a stay at The Grove of Oak Ridge. With the help of physical therapy, he was able to return home after a short stay.

i like the easy access in the room and the answers as i need them . very helpful.

It ended up being much nicer than I expected and I chose it to be the place for dad to live. The staff is very friendly and the facility is clean. There is always a full calendar of activities. Recommend!

Food: 2-3 (used to be better in the beginning, bigger portions, quality was better. Also I keep in mind a lot have restrictions in thier diet and it's hard to cater to each resident. So...... 7. Activities: 4-5 8. Value for the money: 3. All depends on the room and level of care that you need. It gets pricey fast--but most Senior Living places are that way.
