No kitchens and apartments are extremely small.

Located in older business district which made the setting undesirable. The building was older and not well cared for. The marketing person was friendly and gave us some good advice, which was the best part of our tour.

I did not care for this location for many reasons. As we were walking around I noticed how dirty it was not clean at all. The room that I had been shown had been occupied by someone who had recently passed away and the staff hadn't taken the time to pack up personal effects of the person before showing it to a possible new resident There were staff and residents sleeping in the common room. I would not recommend placing anyone here it was awful.

My mother has been there for 2 months and I have had problems with laundry of her items, either missing or find her wearing someone else's clothes. Lost glasses, (found as of yesterday). Not using her hearing aids or either in her ears with dead batteries or the loss prevention loop I had installed on them torn($135. to repair) , detachable foot pegs on her transport chair missing (hv been replaced but aren't the ones that came with the chair. The medication system has created add'l cost to the ins coverage for the meds. I think the staff puts on presence of caring & friendliness but is stretched thin.Very dissatisfied and hope to move her soon. I wish I would have read more of the reviews before I placed her there. I somehow missed the $1,500 move in fee in the initial tour. Get all that straight before deciding a move in for someone.

The staff was wonderful but I have a few complaints about Harvest Home. The food was bad most of the time. My Aunt was on respite care and she had to share a bathroom with the room beside her. That was a problem. Then they had a schedule for the showers but they never followed it. Most of the time she had to ask for one. Harvest Home asked her if she preferred to have a shower in the mornings or afternoons and she said mornings, but she never got a shower in the mornings. The great staff keeps that place going but they need to work on the other issues.

OK but didn't have showers in rooms. Place has been there a while. Not for mom.

When I walked in I knew that this was not the place for my loved one. It was dark and dingy and very dirty as well. They also did not offer balcony's which is something we looked for. The gentleman that took us around however, was very very nice and helpful. The community just did not offer much which the price reflected that.

Was disappointed, the outside not maintained well , not welcoming. The inside was just ok. Not on my list of options for mom.

The community is not prepared to deal with dementia patients. They are not properly trained on how to deal with escalated situations. I have gone and found trash that is over a week old sitting on my loved ones counter. The staff are friendly and Shiela has been a great resource. The staff could do a better job of communicating issues that arise with the family. The activities offered don't seem appropriate for seniors. They had a baseball game at 10:00 am when its over 90 degrees outside. I'm required to use their pharmacy and it is eight times more expensive than our prior pharmacy.

My aunt is a very social person and amputee. She has mild dementia and needs medication management. Racine Commons has limited social activities. Third shift employees are rude. She requested assistance to toileting. An aide stated that "I just did that an hour ago" and walked out. There are no social activities at all and no resident interaction.

Mother has had multiple skin tears since she's been at the home. Despite being designated a 2 person lift, it appears either the people are lifting her while holding onto her arms instead of under her arms, or only one person is lifting her. The cleanliness has been an issue too, but they did hire a new housekeeper and it seems to have improved. However I was there this weekend and laundry looked to be really piled up. Honestly we are considering moving Mother, and in fact after the last skin tear, when a caregiver ripped off a bandage that had been applied by the hospice nurse and was designed to stay on until the skin healed (tearing mother's skin badly in the process) when my sister talked to the director she basically said if they could not meet Mothers needs they would help us find someone else.

Overall our experience with Harvest Home hasn't been a very good one. My loved one was supposed to get his medication through the VA, but without notifying me they switched him to their pharmacy program, so the first month's bill ended up being much more expensive than it was supposed to be. They also really need to work on the food here, it is not good at all.

My experience with Willow Creek at Buffalo Assisted Living was not the best. My husband was only there for six days before they said he could not stay there any more because he was too active. Then he ended up in the hospital and passed away shortly after. I would not recommend them to anybody who has a loved one that is still active. I would only consider them if your loved one will be lying down and be very inactive not doing much of anything.

I found it depressing, more like a nursing home than assisted living.

My parents are not adjusting too terribly well at The Lexington. It seems like a nice place overall and the people there are friendly enough, but it is just not for them and they are wanting to get back into their own place. They have complained a couple of times about the food. They like to have their own thing and the meals have not suited them too well. I am not sure if all of this is the fault more of The Lexington or of my parents, but for whatever reason it just hasn't worked out.

Not good. Very depressing. Facility was old. About 6 patients were watching television. No interaction.

Grandmother had her [removed] shortly after arriving at Harvest Home. That was the first negative. They day we picked her up, we had to have somebody let us into her room, where I found her slumped over on her toilet. We had to get her out of there and put her in rehab. She was not checked on hardly at all. She was active at first, and when she ceased being active they did not investigate to see why and what they could do. It was not a good experience.

In general it has to do with being bought by ensign. It was wonderful at first, with a full time LPN, with 15 people. The caregivers were wonderful. After the switch, they took away some of the cleaning staff, so the caregivers had to do a lot more of the cleaning, so the direct resident care suffered. They didn't keep the LPN or hire on a new one, and she was wonderful with working with the residents. The nursing staff was different after that. Getting medical staff to come to the memory care wing was difficult. A lot of things went down hill. The caregivers were quitting, due to management, and they were concerned for the residents as well. We chose it because it was very homey, we liked the LPN and the manager, neither of whom are there any more.
