Not real responsive to requests for a visit

While we cannot pinpoint our disappointment, we feel it is not the place for our aunt. It felt less like 'home' and more like a seniorfacility

My Mom lived here for a small amount of time. The staff was fine. They made sure she was getting fed and the food they served was okay. It seemed to be nutritional. The cleanliness of the facility was good and housekeeping was scheduled to clean her room and empty the trash once a week. I think for the price and the care, it’s not a bad place.

I like this facility because they seem to have enough staff members to cover all of the residents. They take care of him and all of the meals are on time. For what it looks like on the surface, they’re doing what they need to be doing. I would give them a higher rating but recently I’ve been having a few issues. I just feel like their communication and procedures for doing things is lacking. Things are not as clear-cut and they made it to be. Their small details need to be worked on. I would recommend this facility because the staff is friendly and their intentions are good.

My husband was only here for about a month before he passed so my experience was limited but when he was there, there were a few things that I noticed. The food was not very good, at all. The staff and employees seemed nice and attentive but it also felt like the people that worked there were not very aware of their residents and the attention that they needed. The cleanliness of the facility was pretty good and felt like they were keeping on top of it.

I had to move to another city and I chose this community because it was the first one I looked at. I'm slowly adjusting to it just miss the other home I was in. The food her is prepared a little better and cheaper. I love that they are pet friendly my dog is my companion. The people here are friendly and the staff is caring. This is an older building so some updating wouldn't hurt. There are activities like bingo and music that I'll start to enjoy. They come in and clean once a week.The courtyard is nice. I had an issue and maintenance fixed right away. I hope to settle in soon.

The place is in a new building its really nice but it just wasn't the right place for my In-Laws. Looked like everything was tip top and clean. Had lots of activities. The staff was helpful. We chose another community unfortunately

I have no complaints about the tour I had taken at this community. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions I had for them in detail. The property was lovely and everything was kept clean for all of the residents. It was just not the right location for my mother in the end decision.

My husband was recently at this community for a short respite stay and I have to say I was not that pleased with how things had went. He was left in his room for the majority of the time with no interaction. I wish the staff would have encouraged him to get involved in some of the activities or enjoy the dinning room experience.

I have been completely misled by this community. The community itself is beautiful very clean well maintained and I love what they are doing, however, the way they are representing themselves isn't how they are in situations. They give you the up front appearance that the residents come first and foremost however when an issue arises and a person is sent to the hospital after only being there for 3 hours and they haven't returned after a few days I would think the community it wouldn't matter who they were would follow up with the family or even the hospital to see how that person is doing. . That is what happened with my mom. My mom has been in the hospital twice and there has been no communication with the community via phone or email until my brother had to go in person and have a face to face meeting with the administration to get financial issues resolved and to air our displeasures. After that meeting, they have been accommodating to refund money that we had already paid out. I also think that they don't like to admit when they over estimated their capacity of handling someone in my mother's condition and that they took too much on in the way of my moms level of care needs.

WE had a nice tour of this community, everyone there was very friendly and welcoming. Everything went well for the most part. From what I saw the community looked nice but it wasn't the right fit for my mother it did not have that home like feeling.

My mother had a hard time transitioning to the move to Arbor Rose so they have been working with her and she is starting to come around. They do have activities in the memory unit on limited bases but they also take the residents out to the main floor for those activities and the offer to take them on field trips too. There is a nice dining area for them to eat in the memory unit too. I also like that there is a resident doctor who sees my mom on regular basis and monitors all her meds. I feel the daytime staff are exceptional, but evening shifts are understaffed and that affects their evening meals and getting them ready for bed. I would definitely recommend Arbor rose to my family and friends.

I did not care for the Whittier Glen. I did not like it and it seemed really cluttered in the area they work in. It didn't seem clean and it smelled too.

Nice facility with good recommendations. Noticed on the AZ Board of Health site that quite a number of complaints had been filed since early 2016 but were not deemed actionable. Nonetheless, between that the fact that independent living rooms required residents to use outside walkways to get to elevators that didn't seem to be climate controlled and then on more outdoor walkways to get to the main building, we decided not use The Citadel. The other factor was the need to move from one unit to another if transitioning from independent to assisted living. Finally, the meal plan - the continental breakfast plus one meal wasn't going to be a good baseline for the meal plan for my father.

The rooms are great here, but the entrance and first impression is more like a nursing home than a care home. Some residents were playing "volleyball" (sitting on couches) in the common area and seemed happy. It's a huge facility, though. OK if that's what you're looking for. There is a variety of rooms to choose from, since it's so big. The atriums throughout the complex were inviting. The staff was friendly and helpful.

This was a nice tour. The staff was nice and the community was clean. It was very busy at this time of the tour so we were not able to get more information on the services that are offered. We would suggest that families tour the community for the care for a family member.

Most of the staff at this community are friendly and go the extra mile. They do the ladies hair twice a week. They take them on trips and have activities during the week. The food is good and they keep the community clean. They are changing some of the staff so we are waiting to see how things may change. They are working with us on some minor concerns we have.

Everything went well while my father was at The Citadel. The facility was clean and activities were offered to the residents. My father really enjoyed the movies that were played. My main concern was the fact that, on multiple occasions, the staff did not follow my directions or preferences for the care of my father.

I moved my mother out of here because of the cost. They didn't seem to pay as much attention to her like they were before. It became too expensive for the care she needed. Everytime she needed something they would charge her. They added costs for all kinds of things like her getting a bath and changings. It was no longer affordable for her to stay here.

Nice place. Bedroom only. Day Club. No activities or calendar seen.
