We would recommend this community to others

I wanted a community that was smaller and not to overwhelming for my loved one. The tour was very good and they gave me all of the information that I needed it was just not the environment that I was looking for for my loved one.

Overall it has been okay experience for my loved one. My loved one doesn't care for the food. The feel like it is rabbit food. There are options for the residents to order such as cheeseburgers, fries, and more. The apartment, housekeeping, utilities, all the meals, transportation and activities are included in the monthly fee.

This community was lovely and was phenomenal. However it was a smaller and an older building so my loved one did not like it as much the people are great and the director was wonderful it just did not work for my loved one.

California Mission Inn is a beautiful community, there are a lot of nice things to it but they are short staffed and they just recently had a new change in management which at times is worrisome. However, they are doing the best they can so we can see they have potential. The cleanliness of the community is excellent and when we are able to stay and visit the staff are very hospitable. As far as medication communication they have been really good. They have a lot of activities and just a few days ago we heard they had an Easter brunch that was super nice.

The only issue I have is the my spouses hearing aids as well as the charger were lost somehow and never recovered. The care he received was great. This was a locked memory unit. I don't think my loved one participated in the activities. The staff kept open communication with me regarding the care of my loved one. They gave him excellent care during his time he was there. I talked to the staff everyday during my visits. They had lost his new wheelchair and it was found later on in the laundry room under some laundry. So during my visits, he would be in someone else's wheelchair as we couldn't find his own.

There are two memory care communities in Abilene and we chose this community based on the location of the nurses station. Here it is located in the center so the nurses are able to see everything that is going on. We have had no issue with the meals and dining service so far. Their activities director recently left so the activities declined a bit, but they have a new activities director and we are confident the activities are going to get back to where they used to be

I would recommend them as well as provide oversight. You need to stay involved in the care of your loved one. You need to be aware of the problems that may or may not arise. Overall, we are quite satisfied with it. They work on the cleanliness and if you feel something needs addressed, the staff will handle is right away if you bring it to their attention. They have been very responsive in all questions or concerns I have. It shows well.

We were happy with everything that they did for us. My loved one enjoyed the food. The staff was wonderful to my parents.

It looked like there was quite a bit of staff on duty when we visited. Mealtime was going on when we were there, and the food looked pretty good. It looked like they had more of a variety of ages there for variety of physical needs than we saw at other places. Ultimately we picked another facility that looked a little newer. The rooms at Cranberry Court looked a little bit older. But the staff seemed really nice.

The facility itself is nice, and the rooms are very spacious. They were a little understaffed, which I'm sure all places are having problems with, like every business right now. We had a little bit of problem with medications being given out correctly. The food started out mediocre, but then they got a new cook and it was a lot better. But there were some staff members there who were outstanding and did a really good job.

It's really been a great community for my loved one. They made him feel comfortable when he arrived. It has been good. I would recommend it to someone else.

This community was so so and not really what we were looking for for our loved one.

I really liked Desert View and it was in my top 3 choices. They really seem to cater to the military. The units were a little funky, but they were renovating at the time we toured.

I like living here. We are all one big happy family. The care is great. I will never leave.

Marla Vista Manor was a nice facility, nothing really stuck out to us. They did want to put her in memory care and we did not think she needed that, so we went with a different facility.

Harvest Home is a smaller community, and right when our loved one moved in everyone was so friendly and came to welcome him. It has always been clean, the staff are always awesome and the care services are good. The activities are wonderful, our loved one stoppled playing dominoes, but we was able to start back up ever since moving in. The food was good, but now the meals have to be pureed so he isn't the biggest fan.

Wisteria Place was the first place we stopped and my parents fell in love with it. They have a lot of activities and they have them out doing things again. The food started out really good but they have had some turnover in staff and it has not been coming out as good or warm lately. I would recommend to others looking.

Sometimes our loved one says the food is bland and has smaller portions, but he is participating in the activities now that they are starting to bring them back. They really worked with us on our budget in the beginning which we appreciated. Everyone is really happy there and they are always playing music in the hallway.

The community isn't perfect, but no community is. You kind of have to go with the mentality of, it is what it is. I'm satisfied with the community. The staff try their best to care for the residents. There are times they are short staffed.
