This is a pretty good place to move to. I would recommend you keep on top of everything for your loved one, including care, medication, and more. The staff communication with the family is good. There are three meals a day served and the residents have choices to choose from. Some of the activities available include: movies, cocktail hours, music, games, and more for the residents to choose from.

I didn't know if I liked [name removed] at first as on the phone, but when met in person very nice pleasant person. The property is small but I do like that as my parents would get lost within the shuffle of people. Residents we met were very nice, they made my dad feel relaxed and ready to move in. The prices kind of scared me, but once [name removed] went over them so I could understand they seemed reasonable.

They have a lack of qualified staff -because of the lack of staff, it is affecting a lot of other things. If they were fully staffed, they would get all 4's or 5's. It is a very nice place and it has been a good fit for my mom, she has been much more social since moving in here.

I have only two complaints. I figured we were due for an increase but I was not ready for a total of almost 33 percent in one year. The other thing I guess we still need appointments to come and visit our loved ones but its extremely hard to connect with the Med Tech or anyone in the memory care facility to make an appointment maybe you could address this ?

The assisted living side is really good. The staff is super friendly and kind They're well trained, and I always felt like my dad was well cared for. They were in the process of updating a lot of things in the facility, and once that's done it's going to be very nice. The food could use improvement though. We also had experience with their affiliated nursing/rehab facility in a separate building, which I would not recommend.

It's okay, but it's an older facility. It needs updating. The staff is good. They're friendly, and they provide good care.

I had a good experience with Villa Court. Reasonable pricing and nice people. I feel like my Mom is getting good care.

Good community, too far for family to see.

We are very happy with our experience at Villa Court and like the facility and the staff a lot.

I would recommend Desert View to others for their loved ones. I would also recommend you speak to the director with the Director of the community with any concerns you have. Medication management hasn't been as efficient as we had hoped it would be. The community is trying to work on this issue for our loved one. I wish the community would work better with the dietary restrictions for the residents. We are seeing some improvements in the menu for the dietary restrictions of our loved one.

We would recommend this community to others

I wanted a community that was smaller and not to overwhelming for my loved one. The tour was very good and they gave me all of the information that I needed it was just not the environment that I was looking for for my loved one.

Overall it has been okay experience for my loved one. My loved one doesn't care for the food. The feel like it is rabbit food. There are options for the residents to order such as cheeseburgers, fries, and more. The apartment, housekeeping, utilities, all the meals, transportation and activities are included in the monthly fee.

This community was lovely and was phenomenal. However it was a smaller and an older building so my loved one did not like it as much the people are great and the director was wonderful it just did not work for my loved one.

California Mission Inn is a beautiful community, there are a lot of nice things to it but they are short staffed and they just recently had a new change in management which at times is worrisome. However, they are doing the best they can so we can see they have potential. The cleanliness of the community is excellent and when we are able to stay and visit the staff are very hospitable. As far as medication communication they have been really good. They have a lot of activities and just a few days ago we heard they had an Easter brunch that was super nice.

The only issue I have is the my spouses hearing aids as well as the charger were lost somehow and never recovered. The care he received was great. This was a locked memory unit. I don't think my loved one participated in the activities. The staff kept open communication with me regarding the care of my loved one. They gave him excellent care during his time he was there. I talked to the staff everyday during my visits. They had lost his new wheelchair and it was found later on in the laundry room under some laundry. So during my visits, he would be in someone else's wheelchair as we couldn't find his own.

There are two memory care communities in Abilene and we chose this community based on the location of the nurses station. Here it is located in the center so the nurses are able to see everything that is going on. We have had no issue with the meals and dining service so far. Their activities director recently left so the activities declined a bit, but they have a new activities director and we are confident the activities are going to get back to where they used to be

I would recommend them as well as provide oversight. You need to stay involved in the care of your loved one. You need to be aware of the problems that may or may not arise. Overall, we are quite satisfied with it. They work on the cleanliness and if you feel something needs addressed, the staff will handle is right away if you bring it to their attention. They have been very responsive in all questions or concerns I have. It shows well.

We were happy with everything that they did for us. My loved one enjoyed the food. The staff was wonderful to my parents.
