We toured The Neighborhood at Sheffield during our search for Assisted Living for our loved one. This facility was good and had a nice layout. However, it was a bit pricey for us and our budget.

The tour was nice. The facilities had a construction area from a recent flash flood. It ws clean and quiet. When they found out that my loved one, had to go to the hospital to get his meds adjusted, they told us he was not a good fit for them.

We toured Morningside of Vestavia Hills and it was good. This facility was nice! The cleanliness, friendliness, and atmosphere were all very good. However, we liked another facility that we had toured a bit more and decided to go with that one.

Nice atmosphere, engaging staff, good activities. They have a nice community of residents. Everyone is welcoming and helpful. The Bungalow gives us peace of mind.

My mom is happy there and I would recommend them. As with any assited living there have a few issues but overall we are pleased. They have some very loving kind folks there. We picked this community because, it was bright and open. She likes her room.

The entire staff have been great! The RA's are particularly wonderful because they make my mom feel special! She's enjoying the attention and support that she gets from them. I appreciate all of that too, along with the individual care she gets and the time that they spend helping her pick out her outfits and making sure she feels pretty. She hasn't complained about the meals, so I assume she's satisfied. We did have some issues in the very beginning because my mom hadn't been put on the shower and laundry schedule. We seemed to have gotten over that hurdle. I would definitely recommend Lakeview Estates to others.

My mom is a resident at this facility. Any incident that will occur (fall, diarrhea, upset, etc), I am called immediately. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I asked the maintenance worker if her shade could be replaced since it would never roll up and it was done within a couple of days. Her room is always clean, clothes are washed and put up, there's never any dust or trash within her room. The Pearl sends out emails to families about events. Also, they are part of the 'LifeLoop' website which lets me know weekly how many activities and which activities my mom participated in. Also families are informed of events through their site (it's duplicate info, but I'm glad I get them). They also have monthly calendars that can be downloaded from the LL site. The food is very good. When I see her is usually before a meal and it looks like a balanced diet. The residents enjoy eating it. When I have asked for a plate, the food is enjoyable. My only complaint right now is the amount of turnover of RCA and nurses lately, which has caused a few issues with the care of my mom. I would recommend this facility, especially for Memory Care residents. The facility is a square with a courtyard in the middle. So when a resident leaves their room it doesn't matter which way they walk, they will get to the dining room, activity room. They do memory skills, play musical instruments (which they really enjoy), have dance parties. They do have activities specifically for Dementia and Alzheimer's patients.

[name removed] was wonderful to work with to get my mother into the facility. The staff welcomed her when she arrived with a RED CARPET. Great touch and made her feel welcome.

I would recommend the Bungalows at Chesterfield Village to other families. The facility is roomy. The staff is caring. A couple of things that could use improvement: the in-room HVAC units are noisy. And they could improve the quality and variety of the food, hire more food service staff, increase fresh fruits, have snacks readily available, etc.

I would say they respond pretty prompt, but could be better. They are having staffing issues, like everyone else! They are fine, basic and in line with the other places we visited. It's just a little dated. The apartment, and dining rooms is fine. Maybe with more common spaces or a room just for exercise, etc. A big thank you to A Place for Mom. It was really just the easiest phone call we ever made.

I really enjoyed the community. The quality of the food needs improve, and I would like to see more activites. We picked this community, because of the price point, location and cleanliness.The people are very friendly I would recommend to other families.

We had a good tour at The Phoenix. The tour guide was helpful and informative. They just didn't have any rooms available that were a good fit for my mom at the time when we were looking.

I really like all of the people there, but there is always room for improvement. We picked this community, because my loved ones were able to share a room. They have lots of activites, and they do a good job with encouraging participation. They need to improve on, communication with long term insurance companies. It's really a great place. They have less residents, and they get to know the residents.

This whole experience has been difficult for a couple married for 60 years. I was told it would take my husband two months to adjust to his new environment. They put no restrictions on me and I have visited almost everyday. The community has done a great job of making him feel comfortable and well liked. He is happy and enjoys the other residents. They are still having a problem with getting him to shower, and so did I, but they sponge bath when they can. I know this is a problem at most places, as I have friends to compare notes with. The staff is so friendly and respectful of family members.

Our family had an in person tour and we absolutely loved the facility - it looks like a Southern mansion and we easily could of seen our loved one living there. It is very pretty and the upstairs area had really cool and beautiful rooms. The kitchens in the apartments had granite countertops and the apartments themselves were huge. However even though the community was clean and not dirty looking, when we turned down the first hallway it immediately smelled like urine. Also since we came unannounced and were stopping before we headed back out of town - when we asked the lady up at the front if we could take a really quick toured she did not seem interested. Also a gentlemen who's mother is a resident there said for a couple weeks now that her call button was broken and they had not fixed it yet. However they did recently get a new executive director so the gentlemen was very hopefully things would get better.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a really nice tour but we just could not get together and agree on the price and at the end of the day it was just going to be to expensive for us.

The tour was fine, there was nothing wrong with the facility. I just felt like it had more on an institutional feeling to it. We were looking for a setting that was more homey for my husband.

The staff and the head staff are very friendly and accommodating! To greatly improve the care at The Phoenix, they need to have regular trainings for the staff. If they do have regular trainings, it did not come through in the care as the care could be very inconsistent.

We've had no problems except they just do not have enough help. But the people there are very nice.
