Peregrine Senior Living

The staff at Peregrine Shaker are wonderful. They are very attentive to the residents and appear to accommodate them quite well. They know the residents by name and engage with them constantly. There are many daily activities and they encourage the residents to participate. The food is fine, similar to a college dining hall. There are a few misses periodically, but overall, it's very good There are many options at each meal, and a well-stocked lounge with fruit, juices, milk and treats. My Mom is pretty happy there!

All staff are so extremely helpful. Everything has been wonderful.

Building is very clean and kept up. Maintenance service is accessible. Apartments, while not extremely large, are comfortable for one person. Staff are mostly friendly but, as with many other places, are overworked. Aide service is sketchy as with dining room staff. Food is adequate. Very pleasant patio in between buildings with a gazebo available for residents use

All the staff was friendly and helpful, but the care staff was amazing and went above and beyond for mom. Peregrine was great and I'd highly recommend them.

Unfortunately, my mother did not get to experience the full benefits that Peregrine had to offer. Her condition rapidly deteriorated from Level 1 to Level 5, and then beyond to a point, the staff could not care for her. The staff worked with us to transition her to an acute rehabilitation / long-term care facility with the hopes of returning to Peregrine upon her recovery, however Mom did not recover. She passed a few days after admission to the rehab. My only doubt or criticism would be that I believe Mom's intake interview and evaluation were too ambitious.

I feel their problem is not unusual at Peregrines. Staffing is always short-handed. All the staff pitch in and make up for where they are needed. Office staff in the dining room. The staff that works there are so friendly and helpful. The food is not so hot as I am told but they do have soup and sandwiches if you don't like what they are serving. They are always short staffed in the dining area. The activities outings or field trips are limited on transportation especially for wheel chair availability. I think one per trip in the bus. There is always Bingo or something going on in the activities room. They host parties for holidays and they are amazing! Mother's Day tea is just perfect. I cannot say anything bad. If you asked me in general, I would say we really like it there and my mom is happy and well cared for. It took the weight off of my shoulders.

We have peace of mind that our Mom is being well taken care of and treated well. Nursing staff is wonderful and very attentive to mom's needs. Dr. appointments are made whenever necessary or when requested if mom or staff has any health concerns. The aids assigned to mom help her with shower and getting dressed when needed. Very much appreciated. Housekeeping is very attentive as well with mom's laundry and cleanliness of her apartment. She is very happy with that. We always say to our friends that ask how mom is doing there that "she's running the ship over there"!??. She truly is happy where she is. The entire facility is clean and well kept. My mom is very happy at this Perigrine location and has made many new friends and plenty have been with the staff.

Sometimes [name removed] room needs cleaning due to incontinence. One person [name removed], has called me after work to let me know of medicine changes. Pretty basic food. Not much fruit or veggies. We are paying for the highest level of care. Not sure they really check on him every 2 hours. That said he frequently refuses help. So not all their fault

The rooms here are a very nice size. They are well maintained, as is the rest of the facility. There are numerous activities daily. There is also a very pleasant courtyard with a covered gazebo and numerous flowers and chairs to enjoy it

I really don't have a lot of experience in what they offer which is why I gave it an average score. We pick [name removed] up every Saturday morning and bring her to our house. We have asked [name removed] about the food but we can't really go by what she says We have found many of the nurses aides to be very compassionate.

I would say we are very happy living there. My grandma is 95 now and I'm 5 min from where she lives. My mom and I visit atleast 5 days a week we are hoping for many more at the peregrine ( colonie) at this time I would and do recommend the peregrine colonie for anyone looking for a loving place for there loved one.

The staff are mostly very nice and caring and receptive to visitors. Housekeeping is a mixed review as I have sometimes found my mom's bathroom to be in need of cleaning. Also, they need to change wastebaskets in the bathroom more because of the urine smell from incontinence products. I'm going to bring one with a lid to minimize that. I think they could do more in memory care for cueing to drink her water and soda and other things I bring to her private fridge. I would agree with another reviewer that they are not equipped with sufficient staff or expertise to truly be memory care effective. That said, residents are always dressed and seem happy and interactive. Staff are mostly very pleasant and an accommodating. Overall, it is a very clean, positive environment and safe. Staff do all know and call residents by name and know their quirks and preferences. I would recommend this place and am comfortable with my mom there, but I feel, as all facilities, they need way more staff to patient and are understaffed and probably most aides are working multiple jobs. Burn out is definitely a risk. It's a condition of our society and institutions right now. Peregrine Shaker is doing a fine job given the context. The people who care for elders and disabled and those with special needs and support their families all deserve so much more gratitude, compensation and benefits so they can work one job and have lives of their own. I have been a caregiver for my late husband through a long illness and also for my mom, my dad, and an elderly aunt. I've brought in others to help and so have gotten to see a very intimate portrait of the medical world, pharma, nursing, icu, hospice, institutional and home caregiving. Quite the eye opener.

The staff is exceptional. They treat my loved one with care and respect. The facility is always clean and tidy. Communication with the family is good. The food is actually really good. I would recommend this facility to others.

Small community (52 beds)which makes it nicer for a resident to assimilate into the community as well as navigate the property. Memory care facility only so the staff is well trained on how to care for memory care residents They do a great job of coordinating activities for the residents so they keep busy.

We are very pleased with our choice. The facility has a home like feel. All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. My mom loves the food and raves about it. They encourage families to come and eat with them. I would recommend Peregrine Salisbury to others.

Management is all super friendly and helpful ([name removed] is a true asset). But the CNA staff changes so frequently that it's hard for my mom to have any standard care or anyone to stay consistent with her needs.

I would say the rooms and staff are nice. If there are issues, they are quick to rectify them. I picked this community as it was closest to my house and also the staff was very helpful and very friendly and understanding considering my mom's current situation.

Lots of options at Peregrine Shaker. People are very friendly.

Staff was very pleasant. They greeted dad with a friendly smile and made comments to me all the time how they lived his smile. Greeted him by his name. He felt comfortable.

I would say lovely people who are attentive and responsive and helpful. Community seems very nice for those that wish to take part in activities and events.
