Peregrine Senior Living

They're very welcoming. And they get the patients involved in a lot of activities. I like the care they give to my loved one overall. We have had some challenges with her in memory care. She'll say she doesn't want them to do things like wash her hair, and I wish they would work harder at getting those things done when she says no. But the food service is great. They have two choices at each meal, and the staff walks around during meals to make sure the resident is eating. If they notice they're not, they'll ask if they want the other choice. They'll prompt the resident if they set down the fork and forget to keep taking bites. I appreciate that they keep a good eye on them and make sure they're eating.

The community is alright, and better than others I have heard about. The staff has been good to work with the family and residents. There is a new chef on staff and the meals are improving for the residents, with more variety.

We chose Peregrine Senior Living because it is strictly a memory care facility and it is close to my home. Sometimes we have a hard time with communications so they could use some improvement on that. I do appreciate how they are dealing with covid, they send an update weekly by email or newsletter to families. Overall, I would recommend them to others looking.

We're pretty happy with Peregrine. The place is spotless. We appreciate the staff that is there. I think they do the best they can given the attitude of the person living there. Communication is a little bit of an issue as far as getting responses. I don't expect a response right away, but it would go a couple of days before we would hear back. So just keep on top of communication. We looked at several other facilities, and we're very happy with where she's at.

It is very pricey and they do not have a regular medical check up unless you get sick or need a doctor so we wish that would change. Other than that the community is very clean, the staff we do know are wonderful, our loved one enjoys the meals especially the salads. The activities are still pretty limited.

I thought it was a good place. I was there quite a bit, and it was clean. The staff was very helpful, cooperative, and supportive. Occupational and physical therapy were on point and quite informative when things changed. My loved one was only there for about a month, so it was difficult for her to make the transition, but everybody did what they could to help her out.

It was a nice, comfortable environment for my loved one, compared to other communities we looked at. It had more of a cozy and homey feel. Due to the pandemic there weren't a lot of activities offered.

My tour at Atria Shaker was very good. All of the communities that I looked at were pretty similar in that they were all good places, with nothing of real concern at any of them. In the end it came down to floorplan of the apartments and accessibility to communal areas. And we chose a different community that met our preferences in those areas a little better.

It's an extremely friendly community. The staff has been very receptive to phone calls and emails, that sort of thing. The facility itself is excellent, and always very clean. The lobby always has fresh flowers in it. All the residents seem to be extremely happy. When you walk in everybody waves and says hello. And they offer a lot of activities as well.

We ended up having to move our loved one to another community just based off her health, but while our loved one was there it was a good experience. The activities were great she really did enjoy them. The staff members did a great job communicating to our family with any updates about our loved ones health. The facility itself on the outside was beautiful, however our loved ones room was just so so, there were a couple of holes in her closet so that could of used some improvements.

The value for the dollar is good. There's a lot of red tape that can make simple things difficult, so you have to just be really careful and clear with them and make sure you're being an advocate for your loved one. It's a really good place, but make sure you know what's going on, particularly around medications. It's an amazing place, and the staff has been really good the majority of the time. My loved one has been very happy with the food. The overall quality is consistently good, and much better than another place where she used to live. She also likes the activities, especially bingo. But they offer so many other things, including jewelry making and video bowling.

this seemed like a larger physical building with good social schedule. New kitchen/dining. solid spot to tour physically and with pricing in range, a very strong candidate

This community is a fine place to be. They have activities and the community is clean and attractive and I would recommend this community to others

We chose Peregrine Senior Living at Colonie because of the location and it was a very nice facility, it really impressed me. The room sizes here are not bad, but they could be a little bit bigger. The bathrooms are huge, but the bedrooms are on the small side. Overall, I would recommend it.

This was a short visit for my loved one due to needing to help my loved one move to another community. The staff was great, the lady in charge of the staff was wonderful. The room was very nice for my loved one and it was a private room for them.

The community for the most part was clean, however there were some instances where we noticed a distinct odor. All the staff were all very polite and respectful. Generally, our mom is treated with respect and they do a good job keeping up with her hygiene. During the Covid-19 pandemic, they have done a good job making sure we are still able to talk with her on the phone and through video conferencing. She seems happy and well cared for, overall. Sometimes it can be difficult to coordinate communication between the in-house physician outside doctors.

I thought overall, the cleanliness was pretty good. There were some staff that really went out of their way to make my dad comfortable when we could not be there. My dad was an enhanced care resident and I did feel like they were not quite able to meet his high level of needs. They did their best, however it did seem like he was a little bit beyond their level of care. The activities were lacking and didn't seem like they were designed to engage the residents enough and it didn't seem like they tried to encourage the residents to participate in those activities much either.

The common areas of the community were very well maintained. They only came in to clean the resident rooms once a week and I didn't feel like they did a very good job with that; it seemed like they were doing the bare minimum. The staff was friendly, however when my mother needed medical assistance, they seemed quick to determine that she was no longer a good fit for the community. Until the Covid-19 pandemic, mother was enjoying the activities they had to offer and the food from the dinning room. Atria is pretty expensive, however it seems comparable to other communities in the area.

Three family members went to tour this facility for my uncle's continued care Enhanced Assisted Living. We were very impressed with the facility and it's amenities, esp. as the Community Sales Director, [name removed] gave us incredible feedback on their care services. Great tour with view of different levels of accommodations.
