Staff is consistently friendly to visitors and Mom. She has made a number of personal relationships with those she has direct contact with most every day.

Peregrine's Landing in Orchard Park is probably about the nicest place for a family to take a loved one who can no longer be cared for adequately at home. It is a warm, cheerful environment, with a relatively small number of residents compared to some of the skilled-nursing facilities, & is very-well priced, considering the cost of facility care these days. It also feels nothing like a "facility", and the staff is universally friendly and caring toward the folks who live there. The food is good, with healthy choices. The residents' own rooms are quite large and attractive, and there are lots of activities to keep minds and bodies active & engaged. My mother, who swore she would never leave her home of 55 years, has acclimated very well; after only 2 months she is doing better, both mentally and physically, than she was at home, & looks forward to her day & seeing her new friends. I feel confident that we made the right choice for her, & it's a pleasure to visit her there, instead of a guilty chore. The only caveat one needs to understand is that this is a memory care home, NOT a skilled-nursing facility, so once your loved one can no longer feed him/herself or walk independently with a walker, you will need to find a skilled-nursing facility. They also do not take Medicaid.

As I'm sure is the case for most families, placing Mom in assisted living was a difficult and painful process. Our needs were special as we needed a place with a memory care unit. Mom suffers with mid to severe Alzheimer's . I contacted "A Place for Mom". We talked in depth about Moms specific needs, location and pricing, at which point I was provided with a list of potential facilities. They did all the work as I was contacted by the individual homes, they knew what our needs were and set appointments to walk through. We viewed several places and knew our search was over when we toured The Atria of Salisbury. The fit was perfect. The staff is very caring of their residents and families. The process of acclimating Mom and ourselves to the new situation is handled beautifully by The Atria. We are still new to this....only six weeks in...and they still continue to be supportive of any questions or concerns. Please tour The Atria before you make any decision on other facilities.

It is clean. The staff is friendly and helpful in all situations. The layout is around a central courtyard, open in good weather. Residents are able to walk with or without mechanical assistance around the hand rail equipped halls giving them some sense of freedom. The food is simple but good and nicely presented. The rooms are large and attractive. Many activities are offered for those capable on varying functional levels.

The Peregrine's Landing Senior Community is very nice. The nurse and the staff were really good. They helped out a lot. My mother seemed very happy there. We are going to use them again. I would recommend this facility.

My aunt has been there several years and the level of care is exceptional. The staff really care about her and are good at communicating with me. She participates in the activities which are creative and varied. There are activities each day including a lot of music! Medication management for her has also been helpful. I highly recommend Peregrine's.

We had a very rough go with my dad. The staff has been wonderful and I know my dad is in a safe and friendly environment. Love the pet therapy!

My advisor really understood the needs of my father. I think he will adjust well. The staff has been wonderful and look forward to visiting again.

As we walked thru the doorway the staff warmly greeted us and my dad was escorted to the breakfast room and introduced to others at the table. He readily joined in and there was no meltdown when I walked away. Staff made it easy for me to take a much needed vacation from 24/7 care to my dad without the feeling that I was abandoning him. Family and friends have visited him and I have made phone calls to the facility and everyone has reassured me that he is happy and participating in all the activities. I'm getting the full-night sleep that I have longed for.

I felt that she needed more socialization. It was very good and simple, they didn't have take an elevator, it was homey and wonderful.

We don't really have any complaints. It was on the pricier side of what we looked at. We chose it because they have a doctor that comes to the facility and seemed to offer a higher level of care. The food is okay not she doesn't rave over it but it's good. The physical space is nice, thats one of the things we liked about it. There's a physical therapist on site. It has an extra level of service than the others. Overall the experience has been positive. They have a lot of activities, she doesn't really participate very much, but there are things to do.

In the middle of a very vibrant community with a little path right to the library with a variety of music. This was our first choice but they didn't offer the level of care that we needed.

When it comes to value I feel like it's tricky, I feel as though I value the work that they do, but it is very expensive. The fee structure for the medical piece of it is tricky. It would be nice if there were some way to cap the price as it will continue to rise. The activities make sense for the majority of the people. My mom is a pianist and I wish they would bring some good musicians in sometimes. They do bring someone in who is lovely man but there could be some development in that area. Maybe a weekly trip to the library. Having an opportunity to go to the library and participate in their programs would be great. It's small and immaculate, and the way it sits, on one whole side it's all woods so there is a deep ravine so they cant build there and it's beautiful, really lovely. The personnel really made me feel their warmth immediately, just a good vibe from the place. Enhanced care is offered.

My grandma complained about the food. Everything else was great there.

Very clean facility and amicable staff. Room showers cost extra which was a concern. Overall a good facility.

The rooms are very large and are maintained well. In general, the staff is OK. Some of the aids do not do everything that they should.

The meals are key. They get 3 full meals plus 24/7 snacks. So no grocery shopping needed. They also help clean the apartment and do laundry which were all things my Father was struggling with at home.

Very pleasant. Not a lot of people were walking around at 3pm when I went. Larger and newer facility than some. Staff was pleasant - I commented on a piece of cake a staff member was eating and they gave me a small loaf of it when I left. Didn't meet in a room to discuss the facility - met in an open room where residents walked through. One came up to us and squeezed in between us on the couch while we were discussing things. Lots of sunlight, pleasant atmosphere, several community rooms to congregate.

This facility is great, and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family. The caseworker who left a few months ago was amazing and always on top of everything my loved one needed. Management is wonderful—the director truly makes you feel at home. The morning medication person on the Orchard unit is outstanding. She is kind, caring, and truly compassionate young lady! She listens to concerns and never dismisses them off. Our loved one absolutely adores her she says she always has it run smooth, she is a big reason we continue to keep our loved one here. The only downsides are the cost and the food, which could really use improvement. The drink options are always the same, and the activity schedule feels repetitive. It would be nice to see more variety, like themed events or even an old-fashioned dance with music and dressing up. Overall, a positive experience with just a few areas that could be better.
