Overall Brookdale Fairfield seems like a nice place, however as of this review they are currently without a director for their memory care section. The aide staff and the medtechs do a great job taking care of the residents, but the activities have suffered a bit since the director left.

Location is great and close to area attractions. Food was great and wide variety of choices. Activities offered by the facility were very minimal and not a lot of tennants joined in them. Rooms spacious and clean. Staff seemed helpful. Management of facility not very clear on specifics of rental agreement and what respite care vs. regular care is. No refund and my dad only stayed 11 days.

This was a short respite stay. Looking back I wasn't exactly happy about how things have been done. It's taken over a month to get a refund. They didn't exactly do any housekeeping in the room while we were there. There was definitely room for improvement in certain areas, it's nice when you walk in. The people were friendly. The portions of the food are small. The response time was little slow when there was a need. The type of things they did, were not ideal for my loved one. They had an activities lady there and met her, they would gather people and try to engage them.

Friendly employees, happy residents. Clean, up to date living quarters that are affordable. Liked it, but didn't love it.

We toured here when we were looking. It was a bit too far away to really be in the running for us. The apartments were also a little too small for all of the belongings we had. It was nice and clean, and the staff was friendly. This just wasn't for us.

I'm satisfied with the service of Brookdale Plaza. I have no complaints or issues. They provide good quality care and overall I'm satisfied. The experience has been just fine.

This is an older property. The rooms were big and the residents were everywhere (meaning they were not cooped up in their rooms). Atmosphere was very lively, but not sure it would be a good fit for dad as he is more conservative.

This place was beautiful, high end and elegant. The cleanliness was not as great as it looked though. When we moved out, the bathroom stands stuck to the floor. The staff were very nice, and they loved the residents. They did have activities, but not as much as some places, the food was okay but we moved and everything at the new place is better and we pay about half of what we were paying here.

we were not greeted well. The tour was more like a sales pitch than a tour. not very warm. they didn't ask any questions about my situation.

They are very friendly, and their marketing people are very good, but the care can be lacking. Some of the staff are pretty good, some aren't. I have been disappointed in the nursing area. It has been difficult to get a schedule set up. I have only had one meal there, and the one time I ate there it was good, but she has lots of complaints about the food, she says the portions get smaller and smaller and the chicken is more and more rubbery. I think it might have to do with the way the kitchen is set up. They have lots of activities, and nice programs. They have tried to correct some of the issues, when I have brought them up, they started working on them right away. The other residents can be a little cliquey, and shun some of the residents that aren't originally from the area.

The facility itself was very nice. It was well groomed and well kept up, and had a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. However they are not shy about increasing costs. After moving my loved one in for an initial rate that we were comfortable with her care costs increased twice within the first month.

The care here was alright up to a certain point, but unfortunately they were not able to meet the care needs of my loved one and we had to move her out. I feel like we were misled during the sales process, we were very clear about the amount of movement assistance she needed and they said it wouldn't be a problem. However after we moved in it became clear that they could not accommodate her as well as they said they could.

We toured this location when we were looking into senior living for a loved one. This place looked nice enough, and the staff were friendly, but the in-room amenities were a little lacking. All they had available at the time of our search were studio apartments, and the units did not have full sized refrigerators.

Too small in many ways. No balconies.

The apartment is lovely because we made it that way, the move in was a nightmare, they promised things that never happened. There is supposed to be an ambassador program, where someone will show you around, that never happened. They were supposed to do some maintenance in my apartment and that never happened, unitl after I moved in. This community could be a wonderful place, the attitude of the people that live here is deplorable. The dining room is very cliquey, as are the activities. There is a $300 meal allowance, and the food is awful. I will say that the lady that is now in charge, Sabina, she is lovely and new to the job. The new girl is very sweet and receptive to trying to make things right. The bistro is lovely but the food has been the same since I have been here. This has been not a great experience. It's too bad, it really is a lovely place, it's a great location and a nice area of Huston and could be a really nice place. There are four washrooms on the levels, there is a woman who contracts to wash other peoples laundry, they allow her to tie up all the washers and dryers on the second and third floor all day. Maintenance is great. The sales group I would give a minus or a zero, the office I would give them at least a four. If they are telling you something in the sales office, you need to get every single thing they say in writing, if they say they will replace things, get it in writing. I can't stress that strongly enough.

Very busy place, residents were out and about. Very impressed with Tracey, loved her. But this is the furthest from us. Rooms were sizable, but this one might be an option.

I have been here for three months. They are probably pretty much like most of them. They pretend to be really great but not near as great as you thought they would be. The food sounds great on paper but they don't live up to what they're stuffing about. They don't know how to make Mexican food at all. Lousy tortilla and I've never seen any cheese sauce on anything. Half the time it is not cooked tender enough that anyone can chew it unless they got natural teeth. The TV is in the hallway so you can watch TV as a group, but I was here for about 4 weeks and the TV wouldn't play. I reported it and it took them a month to get it operating. When I moved in, my toilet was way too short for me. Felt like I was sitting on a pot. They finally got another stool, but I had to go through quite a bit of complaining to get that done. I got it done because I am stubborn, but an ordinary person wouldn't have got anything.
