Paramount Senior Living

I appreciate all the staff being kind and patient. Sometimes its hard to get a hold of some of the faculty, as they are busy. However, they have come through with all of our requests and answered our questions. Please get to know the regular help, and make your presence felt. If they don't know your concerns they cant fix them. Keep in mind there are many residents per employee. Keep on top of medical questions and the correct processes. They have helped me tremendously, figure out all the processes, for any medical needs that have arisen. [name removed], [name removed], [name removed] and [name removed] have been extremely helpful, to be specific.

There are some marvelous things about Paramount, especially some of the nursing and aide staff. My Dad is paying for the highest level of care but at times it is understaffed and he has gone without showers (which are only twice a week to begin with). There is a man directly across the hall who screams "help" and various profanities almost 18 hours a day, disrupting the entire floor of residents and staff. At $[removed] a month my dad is entitled to a quiet place to heal and rest and he (and everyone else on the floor) is not getting it. No one in authority does anything to correct this deplorable situation. The facility is well-appointed and well-kept. It is decorated nicely for holidays, and there are some nice social events that include families. My dad needs a lot of encouragement to participate in activities and meet other residents and this doesn't happen. The Activities personnel do not have engaging personalities and don't reach out to him, even after being asked. Again, for $[removed] a month I expect more. I have no point of comparison to any other facility, but I would recommend Paramount with certain concerns.

We like the place but it is pricey. My father-in-law loves playing Bingo and the parties that they have for guests. We also like that the staff and medical people are very responsive. The rooms are also a good size

I am currently a resident at Paramount Senior Living at Fredericksburg. Overall, for the value this facility is the best one locally. The staff is sparse, but the staff that they do have here are doing an excellent job with the shortage. The housekeeping is excellent. The food is the biggest complaint. The quality isn't great and there are very little fresh fruits and vegetables offered. I will say though, most of the desserts are very good. It would be nice to have a few more off site activities and more in house activities after dinner.

Just what we needed for mom. Admin staff went above and beyond . Everything came together quickly. We were very impressed with the level of cleanliness of entire facility from common areas to individual resident's rooms. Staff made mother feel very welcomed. Mother received excellent care for most part. What wasn't excellent was adequate. We only heard a few minor complaints. Her appetite was very diminished. Mother's participation was brief, but she thoroughly enjoyed all that she was a part of.

My loved one is currently a resident at Paramount Senior Living at Manassas and her experience at this facility has been very good so far. The move in process was easy. The resident rooms are good sized for the money. However, the pharmacy that they work with is expensive and difficult to work with. The cleanliness and friendliness are great. The staff, care services, meals and value for cost are good. I would recommend Paramount Senior Living at Manassas to others.

My mother is well taken care of and happy. The staff are all very nice.I would recommend you visit your loved one often and at different times. I would recommend this community to others and have.Also, do not hesitate to ask questions and to stand up to protect your loved one in any community. A Place for Mom was extremely helpful in helping me find a place for my mother. They recommended several communities and checked in with me often to see how my search was going. Very kind and considerate.

Paramount was a good place. We had a very rocky start, but our loved one did come home better than he went in. The second night, nobody came to take him to dinner, so we had to go out and get him some dinner. Throughout his stay, we tried to get across to everyone not to ask if wants to do things but tell him it was time to go. He will say no every time but wanting to go. Like anyplace, the staff makes all the difference. Some good and some getting by.

I would have to say it's ok not having any other place to compare it to. I'm pleased with Paramount my mom likes it. The food is good. Paramount had seniors that looked to be in her age range needing the same sort of care. At the time I was very impressed by the size of the staff. The look of the facility

All in all I think it's a very clean nice place! Its very clean. And the staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it!

Our family had an in person tour and from everything we saw inside the community, the staff and the tour itself it was very nice

This was a very nice community with helpful staff, it was too big and felt it would be too hard for my loved one to get around.

The staff at Paramount are very caring and treat my mother as I believe they would their own. My mother is happy, content, safe, and is making new friends and enjoying the activities they offer!

It is friendly community and clean. The only thing is the hot water runs out to fast and billing is confusing and takes time to understand.

I have been overall pleased with the staff and facility. They have shown care and concern. Their job is not an easy one. I appreciate the services they offer the residents and family members. I would recommend Paramount Senior Living.

We chose Paramount because it was a much better fit. My loved one is 99 and walks with a walker. The other places I saw would be a place that I would go. What I really loved about Paramount was the staff. There were a lot of staff members out and about. I go once a week and you always see staff which really impresses me. I would tell others when you sign the contract and you are supposed to go in, make sure to go in no matter what. All of the staff that are taking care of elderly as well as in the building offices, everyone goes out of their way to help you.

Overall, my family feels deceived and disappointed with this facility. Yes the rooms are nice and the facility itself is appealing. They advertise that they treat you like family, but that wasn't the case for us. I noticed that residents were almost always in their rooms, even at mealtimes. Which should have told me something. It felt very strange. Both of my parents were here, on two different units. Mom was here first and then we transferred dad here from the hospital. He had an infection that still needed care and we were aware of that. But it wasn't handled properly. I was there to visit and advocate for them every single day. As dad started to decline, eventually even cognitively, we questioned if he needed to go back to the hospital because the infection was getting worse. It took two weeks for the Physician assistant to finally say yes, and by that time it was too bad. We trusted their judgement and shouldn't have. When we first brought dad in, they told us they would make sure to get mom over there to visit him and even arrange to have meals sent to his room for both of them, but that didn't happen. One day, I went to visit and mom wasn't in her room. I went to dad's room and she wasn't there either. His roommate told me that she was just there, but decided to go to the library for a book since dad fell asleep. She ended up getting lost and they found her lost at the back door. She was banging on it trying to get back in. A couple days later I had left after a visit. I was still sitting in my car in the parking lot and noticed mom standing at the front door, lost and knocking to try to get back in. I understand everyone is understaffed right now. And maybe mom also needed a higher level of care. But no one ever suggested that to us or even took the time to notice it. She was getting lost trying to navigate from her side of the building to dad's and no one helped her like they said they would. Dad passed at the hospital and we decided to bring mom home with us. They have a 30 day notice policy and we had already paid for mom's full 30 days. Within that time, when I went to get her belongings, they had already cleaned out her room and bagged up her belongings. Not only that, but things were missing. Nothing of value, but things I had purchased for her apartment. Why did we have to pay if they already cleaned out her room? And where was the rest of her stuff? They also didn't give me her medication with her belongings. I had to go back and get it. I'm working with corporate now, but it's just a mess. They knew the situation with both of them and portrayed it as if this place would be a good fit for them and that they could provide the levels of care that they both needed. At the end of the day, they could not and did not. I just want others to know that these things happened and could happen again.

They had availability when we needed and we thought the staff were very straight forward with us during the processes which we appreciated it and they were very efficient with getting the paperwork done. We have never had a meal ourselves so we cannot vouch for the meals but according to our loved one they are not happy with the taste and that is needed improvement. The location is very important to us and overall we do think the value is good.

I had really good, in depth conversation with the director of Paramount of some improvements that could be made and he totally agreed. For us, we felt the facility was too small and institutional feeling. Most of the rooms offered in memory care are shared. There was really no color on the walls or room for residents to move around.
