Paramount Senior Living

Depends on what your needs are. It's ok and most staff is very friendly and caring. We picked this community because of proximity to us and pricing was better at the time.

Overall, the staff is friendly and the community is clean. It's a no-frills community compared to some, but for a resident in memory care who won't utilize the movie theater or sports bar that others offer, the savings are worth it. It's attractive on the outside and inside. There are always activities going on if your loved one is interested and able to participate, and families are always welcome to join in. Communication could be a bit better, so you need to take initiative to call and get details of how your loved one is doing when you are not there visiting along with dr info (ie results of xray or lab work). As with most areas of life, the squeaky wheel gets the oil...and sometimes you have to be the squeaky wheel especially when your loved one can't advocate for him/herself.

Community is fine. They need to improve on just having more staff and more experienced CNA' s that can work well with Alzheimer's residents. We gave the care services a 4, but sometimes it can also be a 3. We should have spent more time, but didn't have it then, doing our research on places. We were in a time constraint at the time, and Paramount was really talked up as being the best place for our parents. Sometimes it is ok, sometimes not so much. Short staffed at times, so care is kind of lacking. But overall, it's been ok.

The housekeeping department was excellent. Management of department was fantastic. However, they are always short of staff, especially the nursing dept. There are not healthy menus, not much alternative choices. Needed to supplement my own food because of small portions and unsavory food. Activities are limited choices and nothing after 5pm. A lot of events canceled due to lack of participation. Holidays and special events always well done. I understand it was the better value compared to the competition. But I feel the pricing structure was a bit unfair. Residents needing more care than others were paying the same amount the independent living residents paid. I found it necessary to leave after 1 year. I was OK being there, except for the expense. After my therapy was complete, I chose to find a 55 and over apt for 1/3 the cost Please note, even though Powerback therapy was a separate department from Paramount, they were incredibly helpful. I could not have made the move without their excellent and professional care. A 10 star Rating to them.

Lovely, attentive, and caring staff. Knowledgeable nurses, clean environment and beautiful rooms!!

I would tell a friend that I entrusted my Father in their care. He was taken care of and treated with dignity until he passed in [month removed] Yes, I would recommend Paramount to others.

Staff is very friendly and responsive to family involvement. Answering questions and advancing continuum of care. Facility is clean and active ( as much as the residents want to be). Communication is very good with loved ones updates and collaboration between the Paramount, the rehab facility, and the hospital is very helpful. We are grateful for her placement.

For the staff that directly interfaces daily with our loved one. 2 for management. It is very expensive for ordinary working people, but overall we would recommend this community to other families because our loved one is happy, clean and safe.

Many activities-freedom to choose-many meals were very good_ staff very receptive. It was a good respite stay. I would choose Paramount Homes for respite care and even fir a permanent stay. The home is odor free and clean.

They take fantastic care of your loved ones. I wish they had more activities. Like live music, happy our etc..

At this time no I would not recommend them. I've seen marked improvement in my mother in the week since she moved out of Paramount.

The vast majority of the staff were very friendly and kind! The facility was nice and clean and had a lot of areas that accommodated our different needs when visiting [name removed].The biggest negatives were that the staff seemed stretched thin at times and sometimes took a long time to respond to a button call. We also had one incident at the very end where [name removed] did not get needed meds and this caused him some respiratory distress. Hospice had to step in to remedy the issue. [name removed] passed shortly after. We don't fault the facility and know his passing was imminent, but it does show there was a slight lack in communication and staffing to stay on top of all needs. Overall, we were still very happy with Paramount and are very grateful for A Place for Mom helping us find placement for [name removed]!

It's a very nice facility, with many levels of care. Staff in all areas are very nice and accommodating. I only looked at one other place and Paramount was a quieter facility which matched her personality better.

My loved one is currently a resident at Paramount Senior Living at Bethel Park and everything has been very good for her so far. It's been a good experience. Based on our experience, I would recommend this facility to others.

I am happy with them. Even better,my loved one is happy living there. I would recommend but suggest that family keep an eye on health changes. Not sure if they notice as quickly as I do.

The non-medical staff is very nice and helpful and answer questions and concerns fairly quickly, for the most part. The medical staff are very caring and loving, especially to mom. We have had a couple of issues that were handled quickly. Housekeeping is fine. The facility is always fresh and clean. The staff call me whenever (24/7) there is an issue that I should be made aware of, from a fall to a piece of mail. During move-in they gave me a room key and stayed out of my way. They assisted when requested and photos, artwork and TV setup where handled very timely. The few meals we joined mom in were tasty and substantial. Mom is getting 3 full meals a day and quite the variety, unlike her food preparation the last couple of years at home. I would absolutely recommend Paramount to others.

I was told at my first walkthrough that they never have much turnover and all caregivers have been there long term. That was one of top reasons I chose Paramount. That has become apparent to me in these 3 months that is not the case. They can be short-staffed. They have a bus that will take residents to doctor appointments 3 days/week for cost of $35. Have a hair salon. Have an internal hospice that is part of Paramount. Have internal PT/OT that was really wonderful and got my mom back to moving around.

Admin staff are very responsive to family members, medical staff and room managers are friendly and supportive to patients. I would recommend this facility to others looking.

Staff have been outstanding overall. Personal Care staff are amazing. The only major issue has been follow up with family members on some issues related to healthcare. Move in process was easy, but pretty much managed by us. They do have a cart for moving of mid sized items. Food is just okay, but the dining staff are excellent. Suggestions for improvement are related to cable and wireless. Cable is Direct TV and missing a number of channels my mom liked to watch. We have tried to use her smart TV, but the wireless coverage is spotty requiring a Wi-Fi extender in her room. We have decided to make mom a permanent resident as of last week, so I guess we would recommend.
