Pacifica Senior Living

I have lived here for 8 months. The bus service that they advertise doesn't exist hasn't existed since before I arrived but was never discussed when you signed the lease. I would have never signed the lease had I known that they only had transportation to doctors. No trips, no grocery trips. No outings and one excuse after another as to why they do not. The food is poor nutrition and definitely limited if you have any kind of eating problems. The maintenance of the place is poor. The The carpets need cleaned and have been suggested but nothing done. Although there are other things that do not meet the advertised services the above are probably the main things. The plus is the staff are great. The residents are friendly on easy to meet new people. The apartments are nice and well kept by the cleaning staff.

When I placed my mother with Pacifica Fort Myers I set it up to automatically withdraw payment from her account. 6 months later I get a message that they never processed the payments and they were going to to hit us with $200 a month late fees unless I gave them my credit card number. I refused because I pay from my mother's account and didn't want to put 20k on a card. I sent them a check instead. They took the late fees out of the check and racked up more late fees. I am preparing to sue. When I told them I would litigate they laughed and said go ahead.

It's an absolute hell hole! They stole 5 months of our lives. We were told falsehoods and mislead about the upkeep, bugs and the food. The place is crawling with bugs, it's dirty and the meals served resembles food for Third World countries.

Our family had an in person tour and right away we were not impressed with the community or the tour experience. We felt the community was really dirty and the young lady giving the tour was not dressed professionally at all. We saw a resident struggling in a wheelchair trying to get up to the dining hall and she did not even offer to assist that residents as we passed by.

Nothing to say but terrible service all around. They could improve on all the below. - Have consist staffing day and night. - Have experienced team members overnight to address some of the resident sun downing issues. - Have a knowledgeable Director who knows how to solution and not make accusations to family members. - Do not steal new clothes provided to residents by family members. Half of the wardrobe I bought for my loved one was missing along with their laundry hamper. - Faculty director be accessible to residents family when called and not avoid them. - Med techs do not call police on residents for being threatened with a plastic knife - Med techs don't call paramedics to transfer residents to hospital because they are under staffed

Cleaning sporadic, issue with theft, call buttons not answered, paid for hourly checks not done phone calls/emails unanswered, fire door/security camera not functioning, resident bully not addressed. In my opinion the staff that interacted with my mother were caring and kind and most were doing their best despite the complete lack of support and recognition of leadership

Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights is a horrible place and I would never recommend the facility to anybody.

This wasn't the right fit for our loved one, and we didn't feel comfortable placing our loved one here.

Please do not put your loved one here if they need a lot of assistance because you will NOT get it. They make the bed over my mother's soiled sheets, they do laundry and burn her blouses, they ask our Private how to giver her a shower because they don't know what to do, they are on their phones watching movies while I walk by carrying out loads of trash. There seems to be little to no training. This place is expensive, the food is great, and the gardens are nice. But if you need lots of help, hire a private caregiver, please.

I was not at all impressed with Pacifica Santa Fe. The environment is dark and depressing and felt like a nursing home. When we walked around I saw a screen was off one of the windows and it worried me that a resident could climb out. When I asked how long it would take to be fixed they could not answer me. I had a family member who toured this facility and they charged her card a large amount to hold a room and it took her forever to get that back.

Our beloved family member joined the memory center in good health but with memory issues. This person needed no support for dressing, eating and minimal support for walking. The family was not allowed to see this person in person or communicate by phone for 3 weeks! Unfortunately we lost this loved one unexpectedly without any contact. No real accountability from the center. Very disturbing emotionally and very questionable as a practice.

My aunt went into assisted living and they were not taking care of her at all. I had a camera in there and many times she had fallen and no one would go in and help her so I had to call the front desk. [name removed] the nursing director told me we needed to get private duty care for her which was extremely expensive. [name removed] mis-assesed my loved one when she was in rehab, she could not do an in person assessment so it was over the phone which I found out after we moved in. My loved one should have been in the memory care unit from the start. Once she finally got into memory care, they recommended hospice and once they started helping it was wonderful because their nurses provided great care. It was not a good experience at all and we would not recommend them to others looking.

The care is horrible, and management is totally inept. The general staff are friendly, but they can't do anything to help the problems there because of poor management. The other residents are nice. But the physical location was horrible. My loved one was without hot water and heat for most of the first three weeks she lived there. Since then, on and off she's been without hot water, heat, and/or air conditioning for weeks at a time. When she calls down to the front desk in the middle of the night to tell them she doesn't have any heat, they tell her she just doesn't know how to work it and make her feel like she's crazy, which is troubling for someone with dementia. I think part of it is they're under construction and turning things off. But it's not for a few hours - it's for several days. And that is not acceptable. I would not recommend you put anyone there who needs help. We had a horrible experience.

My family had a horrible experience at The Woodmark. My loved ones received pretty much zero health care, so my family had to be there to do it, except when we were kicked out at night. They wouldn't answer the call buttons, and our loved one was falling multiple times. Yet they still tried to charge me for extra care. We weren't even there at all the last month when my loved one was in the hospital, but they're still charging me for full care and residency for that month. Starting day one, I didn't even leave my parents there the first night. The Woodmark tried to mis-medicate my dad and wouldn't listen to us about it. And they weren't answering the call button. So in good conscience, I could not leave them there. Some of the positives: Housekeeping was great. Some of the individual caregivers were great. Their third party PT and OT were wonderful. But the nursing I would rate in negative numbers if I could. They didn't do hardly anything for my loved ones. Admin and the front desk girl were fine. The food servers were fine. However, I was floored at how badly management behaved. They walked out on meetings with me. Both of my parents contracted Covid there. The Woodmark did not even phone me when one of them was sent to the hospital. I contacted their corporate office in December and have yet to hear back from anybody there. The apartment cost is good, but the service and care were virtually nonexistent. I wouldn't want my worst enemy there. It is a horrible place. I had such good feelings going into it, but my worst fears ended up coming to light.

The outside is gorgeous, the foyer and the atrium are all gorgeous. The staff is kind, polite and some of them are really trying. The rooms are horrible, dirty and not cleaned nor kept up. We complained for 3 years about roaches-every visit they promised to spray and did but only his room and roaches travel. By the time we moved Dad out of state, his room was infested with three types of bugs. Apparently the issue is Pacifica bought them and the current adm is not able to spend $$ on what is necessary. Before moving into any Pacifica owned property, try to contact Pacifica- you cannot! The housekeeping is subpar too. Towards the end, he was not getting timely care either. He had gone into a wheelchair and no room to get it in bathroom so had to have a porta pot out in living room. Everyone too over worked to look out for what he needed. He certainly wasn't living the "luxury life" they promised.

I moved my husband in late[date removed]to Tampa Gardens because he had late stage Parkinson's and Parkinson's related dementia. I could no longer provide the care he needed at home. The care by nurses and aides was as advertised. They were great! In October Pacifica Senior Living took over ownership and everything went downhill. I moved my husband to another facility in early December due to lack of the care he required and cleanliness of his room. Often I would visit and could not find anyone to bring his medication or help with his bathroom needs. If you have long term care insurance, do not expect them to file for you. The Administration rarely, if ever, responds to calls and are in turmoil.

Food program was a disaster. Truly was. Worse is leadership and corporate could careless. Greed and all mighty dollar won over. My wife at one point lost 13 lbs in 3-4 weeks, why? food was unpalatable and really low quality. I watched countless others over months not eat food, staff admit many were not eating, losing weight and unhappy. Surveyed staff, could find no one that eats the food themselves, zero said they would feed it to their kids.. I said "then why are you feeding this food to the residence" Sales head justified the poor food program with "they have dementia and dont know" as to make less of the grievance and obvious food problem. So bad I had to bring my own food for my wife to subliment.. watched countless others do the same.. just heartbreaking. Guy in charge of food, was in tears with me, as he knew it was true.. he told me word for word. $5.70 cents a day is all they spent to feed a resident. How do you feed anyone for $5.70 a day? answer? you dont. Stay away

Appearances and money making is this facility's only priority. They will bait and switch you after paying $10k to take care of your loved one. They go so far as to break CA licensing regulations to wrongfully evict when a resident or family member doesn't fit their mold and/or asks too many questions. The current executive director of this facility is dangerous. She yells and barks at her staff who are coached not to answer questions, play dumb about chain of command, and literally ”hide" her. She is aggressive, hostile, and combative. She forged a review in my name in plain sight and lied about it. The facility failed to report an "assault" to local authorities appropriately. They threatened to send my father to a psych ward when he was calm and cooperative within the first 2 weeks to force me to take him home and they could keep all money paid. The State is investigating and I will be following up corporate appropriately. I do not want this to happen to anyone else loved one!

Moved my wife who is suffering from Alzheimer's late stage, was really hoping for best outcome, and just wasn't there. Negatives, Food program was literally the worst of the worst, food you wouldn't wish on enemies, serious, no selection, cheap ingredients, frozen veggies, cheap, food program literally better at state prisons and or county Medicaid facility then this place. I literally couldn't find 1 staff member that would eat the food or feed it to their kids, I literally watched resident after resident no eat, literally. I had to literally bring food everyday personally to insure my wife had healthy palatable food. Their cook left, why? no support from Executive Director, profits over people mentality.. literally said $5.70 cents a day this place spends to feed residence?? unreal I called and interviewed countless other locations in Vegas, all said it was way too low? Corporate values money over people here, just terrible, sad, as staff and caregivers beautiful.

In my opinion the owners and management are uncaring, deceptive and only care about making money. On many occasions I have waited 45 minutes sitting waiting for breakfast. I left the facility with them owing me $1350 and in spite of promises to-return my money, I have not received any of my money. There are much better facilities in San Luis Obispo. I’m in one now and. Much happier. Do your homework. Living here was a mistake.
