Cleanliness was good, room size was great, staff was horrific. They should never have accepted my husband because they could not meet his needs. He had to be fed and they don't feed any of their residents. I only found that out after he was there. Also, I told them that my husband could get agitated and combative, and then once he was there, they seemed shocked by his agitation and combativeness. The staff was not trained to deal with this. They did an assessment before accepting him. I told them at the assessment that he had to be fed and could be combative, and they said they could care for him. But they could not. If you can't feed yourself, are bedbound, have dementia issues, or feel that your health could go in that direction in the future, look for another facility. I had to pull him out and place him elsewhere after only a week.

I think the PARK LANE is heading downhill...only time will tell. Like I have been saying, this place is going downhill and I believe because the top is bleeding off the money from the bottom so the bottom is leaving constantly for higher wages elsewhere...less and less capable people are replacing them. Good luck with that sequence

Yeah the place is horrible. They say one thing to your face and 180° different on the action. Took my mom who was able to walk, bathe herself, bathroom, eat and get dressed. Drugged her up something fierce and now she can only feed herself , bedridden. Top it off they continued to charge for a completely empty and clean room AFTER they kicked her out.

We walked in the wrong door and the smell if mold hit us in the face. The young girl that let us in the 2nd door had no idea who [removed name] was. [removed name] was the sale rep we were supposed to meet. [removed name] did not greet any resident by their name. But she did refer to one resident by name who started out as 94 years old, the 96, then maybe 97. The feeling inside the lobby was very oppressive with the dark surrounds. Some of the Christmas decorations were chipped, like no on cared about them. Hearing that there were 4 buildings and about 300 residents really turned us off. So no, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I was so thrilled to initially found this facility for a loved one. Everyone seemed so nice and I was thrilled with the level of care I was inially promised. Things went down hill very quickly once my loved one moved in. I realized what you are promised prior to signing the lease as far as daily care is not actually done. They have since moved out. In addition, there are no doctors or nurses on site and your loved ones health is left in the hands of med techs. Most of these med techs seem inexperienced and not very well trained with numerous mistakes to medications. Even cleaning a wound daily and changing a bandage is a challenge and doesn't seem to get done. There are much better places in San Diego if you care about the health and well being of your loved one. Find them and stay far away from this place!

They had him 2 days. I went in for quick visit and demanded they call paramedics. His BS was 500 by time he got to hospital. He was diabetic and FULLY aware of insulin needed. He's dead. 2 different facilities claimed to be able to handle health issues yet death was end result. The worst experience for myself and husband. Would NOT recommend.

If I could rate them a zero I would. The staff tries their best but they are extremely understaffed. Approximately 1 caregiver per 10 people that need to be changed, fed, etc. 1 med tech for about 60 people my mother was always dirty teeth not brushed so her breath was foul. UTI almost every month because they wouldn't change her. They would double up her diapers so they wouldn't leak. The food was abysmal but getting a little better right before I pulled her out. But examples are boiled celery as a vegetable. Canned pork and beans as an entree. Mystery meats that were very tough especially for old people. The room was a decent size they are definitely being run to maximize profit.

Not happy with them. Have called and sent a letter to the director about the [amount removed] check I gave them to hold a place for my brother. Wish I could move home somewhere else but he likes it there.

My mother lived at The Woodmark for 7 months and nothing was ever right. From the start, I had to fight for basic services that were supposed to be included with her rent of $[removed]a month. No housecleaning, no showers, no one answered the button for help when it was pressed. Excuses were made such as "we are short staffed, we have other residents" Then the next time, we were told " we are fully staffed, there are no problems with services here" I lived 5 minutes away which was lucky as I was able to get there quick when she needed help which they didn't provide. One morning at 4:30am, my mom was in extreme pain. Pushed the button for help and no one came. Called me. I went there. Found an employee, scrolling thru his phone. Told me thats not his job, med techs are somewhere. Never saw anyone except paramedics. Not a unique thing either. Management will not address the problems, just praise the complements. Corporate is useless as well, will not even return phone calls.

My mom was a resident there a year ago and it was the most horrible disgusting place ever .dont Put your parent there. You better take a good look at it. What's really going on is lawsuits they've had that they've gone chapter 11 a couple of times to help leaves the patients by their self at night.The food is unedible to most because it's all spicy my mom lost all kinds of weight there. She was treated horrible and all the staff did was play on their phone so they couldn't cared less about the people that lived there.

Often they would contact me in the middle of the night to inform me of frivolous things.. Care Staff was not as promised at signing, Told he would receive 3 showers and maybe received 2. What activities? Only witnessed one activity and it just seemed like a few people sitting in the courtyard not communicating.

Do not do business with this facility! My mother put down a deposit of $[removed] to rent one of their rooms in [date removed] with her debit card. On [date removed], I had advised the director that my mother changed her mind about renting the room. The director dvised me that she would immediately process her refund of the $[removed] but the refund would be in the form of a check and it would take 30 to 45 days to be mailed out from their California corporate office. When they finally sent her her refund they placed a stop payment on the check. The direct advised me that the corporate office said that my mother's bank gave her a credit for the refund amount. I told the director is an absolute lie as I have provided her with my mother's bank statements to show no credit was given. I asked for proof that my mother's bank said she received a credit and they have not provided it. The director said er supervisor would have them expedite a new check. Its been 4 months and no refund has been given. Total scam.

I was very disappointed in the care my mom received and the services they say they offer, my mom wanted to attend church & it was never offered I thought she would do activities to help with her memory that never happen Several of her items came up missing & were never recovered I was told residents go in other peoples room & take things The staff are nice enough ladies but I don’t think they have the knowledge to work with people in memory care I have to give Vera credit once she became the memory care director she was very responsive in fixing anything she could All in all the place is very beautiful & the kitchen staff & janitors are wonderful But memory care should shut down & they just operate as assisted living

At first was good. Then someone stole her wedding ring and $[removed]. They took some rings that had her birthstone and diamonds in it. They cut back on healthcare aides(nurses) so she didn't get her depends changed but once a day. They never cleaned and we paid for that. When she was getting weaker my husband and I had to help the one aide to change her. I would come in the afternoon and she would still be in her pjs. Power went off for 3 hours and they had no back up plan for it. People were stranded down stairs because they were in wheelchairs and the elevator didn't work. Fire fighters were called a lot because no power for oxygen. Overall it was not a good experience

The room my parent was in had a refrigerator that was filthy in and around the outside....something had spilled and been sitting for who knows how long. When brought to the center's attention they said it would be cleaned. They never cleaned it....I had to in order to put things in the refrigerator.My parent was in the memory care unit on lock down patients are able to roam freely with no supervision at times. They go into others rooms and make themselves at home and take what they want and sometimes nothing is done about it. My parent was left in urine sheets close to 48 hours. Staff put a towel under towel under fitted sheet that had been urinated on instead of changing and put the top sheet and matress protector that smelled of urine as well into clean linens bin. My parent had an extra set so if there was an accident the linens could be changed. My parent had been out of their bed multiple times I had visited during the 2 days. My parent stayed all of 4-5 days. No medicine was even offered during this time either. And refund amount was not comparable to amount of time of stay. When brought to administration attention they were less than helpful. The so called Director made some very rude comments about me complaining when they thought they had transferred the line. They are short staffed and over worked and do not seem to care when things are brought to their attention. This place will work you and with you to get your parent in the door but once there beware. I could go on but overall most horrible experience with this facility we as a family were actually somewhat traumatized by the entire process.

My dad only stayed one day. In all fairness my dad wasn't as ill as the others. but we were led to believe that there were several who were at my dads level and that wasn't true.

I would give them a 2 out of 5. I loved the apartment. I hated the food and it's unimaginative Daily menus. For instance: I would revue the Weekly menu and decide which meals I would go to. Usually it was 1 per day but sometimes because there was bacon I would go for breakfast and EITHER lunch or dinner. It was great for my diet. I lost 7 lbs while I was there. Cleaning my apartment was a laugh. I believe it happened 3 times in my tenure. In fact at one point I asked for a refund of [amount removed]for 7 weeks not cleaned. And received it. The close down of the main hall for games etc. was a laugh. It was closed 6 weeks after I arrived and was to reopen the week I left. I found the Admin. to be sadly lacking. Tenants were pleasant and most staff also pleasant but it seemed like some treated it more like summer camp than a job

The roof leaked in my apt forcing me to move out early. There were other things that needed attention but was never acted on just discussed. They did allow me out of the one year agreement however kept my deposit. I didn't really care about losing the money as I was happy to live somewhere that I enjoyed and didn't have to put up with the problems I was having. I really don't think the people in charge were responsible for the lack of attention to needs of their tenants I believe it was the owner. There was a couple of people that were very sympathetic but powerless to do anything. I'm sure the roof is repaired by now and other items addressed.

The 2 years my Mom has been here has been SO frustrating. Director after director come and go. They have trouble keeping an lpn ( nurse) and staff are constantly leaving. Staff don't give report so communication between each shift is non existent . We get frustrated that we were promised all this care ( for an increase price) but the staff isn't aware of what is needed. They cannot possibly keep up with all they NEED to do even once they are informed ( by us) and then good ones leave. This looks like a nice place, and it could be if [name removed] would just get their act together here.

The place is very visually pretty. The receptionist are friendly & staff in the dining area are friendly & helpful. Most cna 's are unfriendly & the med techs are unwelcoming. They don't seem to have any understanding of dementia. They never laugh or smile. I wish I never brought my mom to this place she's gotten worse in fourth months their are no activities like they promised. The food is cold & bad. Her items come up missing & everyone sees it as part of living in the community. I'm very disappointed for the money I pay for these services
