lovely grounds; iffy neighborhood; the place seemed sloppy

I met with Emily who toured me thru the facility. This facility is dated, but okay. I mentioned a few things that could be done inexpensively that I think would make the rooms more attractive. Emily said how there is an effort to bring residents into the Atria 'family' and this facility seems to provide the most resident services for the lowest cost, such as actually escorting her to the doctor's office. The staff also monitors the residents many times during the day and have a nurse available in evenings whereas other facility only have LRV on duty. It is very cost-effective which is important. I think this would be the facility my Mom will likely select based upon cost considerations. I would select a courtyard room for her.

They had a lot of staff turnover, which kind of tells me something, but the ratio of the staff in their Alzheimer's unit was like 1 per 7 people and I just didn't feel he was getting enough personal attention. Their idea was sitting him in his room and watching tv or wheeling him out to the common room, they didn't have time to walk him or get exercise. I didn't feel I was getting the value of the care, he was in the assisted living part of it for a couple of years and I felt like when he could get aroundon his own it was a good palce for him, it was in he was in his memory unit and I was paying mroe that he wasn't getting the kind of personal attention he needed.

Gaby was very sweet. just not up to Silverado in care. If we were going to settle on Escondido it would have been at Silverado

We (two siblings went with me) were not impressed at all.

They were not as bad as other communities but their atmosphere was depressing. It was relatively dark and gloomy. They literally are cottages and depending on what level of care are needed depend on the cottage. The level 5 cottage was really depressing every resident was in a wheel chair just slumped over. Just did not have a good feeling to it.

Visited Carrington Pointe yesterday. The community was nice but did not rank higher than the two properties we visited recently (Windham - Fresno and Quail Park - Visalia) The common areas and apartment were attractive. The food was okay. :) Did not get a warm or friendly feeling from the current residents.

Mostly shared rooms. Mom would need a private room.

Liked the Director and found the population looked rather vibrant. The facility however was a [removed] very old, tired, looked messy, smelled disinfectant. Doors are hollow core, rooms are loud, small and just not acceptable.

I visited this facility and it is clean and everyone appeared well cared for. It is right next to a power facility.

bathroom entrance would be a problem, seems small. They were pushing for a monday move in???? the sales push put me off a bit, but they generously offered to buy out his current 30 day notice...

Their units are the largest around. Have studio available for $1,800 and 1 bed is $2,700. 2 meals/day provided, breakfast and choice of lunch/dinner.

Near freeway in Escondido. Looks like a purpose built seniorcare facility. Nice gardens and patio areas outside. Exercise classes and walks every day. TV room with fresh popcorn. Dining room nicely prepared. Has hair salon. Studio has microwave and fridge. Grab bars in the shower private bath. One bedroom unit has a nice large bathroom.

Don't think it offers dementia care

this place was a little too nursing homeish for me to love it but its a good location for dad and his friends. floor staff i observed seemd friendly but not genuinely so. a bit dmv in their attitudes, maybe just not very professional. feel like they could easily be condescending and assume patients concerns arent valid. but everything is included and fees are good. daily bedmaking, laundry and hskpng is a plus. rooms smaller than others. director was nice but again, in a sort-of unrefined, pat you on the head way, not really in a professional way. cant put my finger on it but didnt love the vibe. still a contender but i think i would have to stay on top of them vigorously.
