My brother is settled and doing very well at The Atria Encinitas. We're satisfied with their services. I wish to have all calls stopped.

This property was recently acquired and the Community Relations Director was 3 days new on the job. So it is difficult to provide feedback on something that has not yet been established with the new owner. The Director could not readily answer many of my questions about the community (i.e. community bus for outings & doctor's appts). She did not even have the correct keys to show me the available rooms. The property was clean and bright and residents have access to 2 small outdoor areas. I did not like that the resident's bathroom is accessed from the main corridor and not from within their room. I was trying to learn more info about the new owner (is it a large organization?) of this property and felt the Director was snarky in her response; her rudeness turned me off.

This place is upscale and had a large room and a kitchen. Did not meet any staff except for Sheila who gave us the tour. The place was not as friendly as Knoll Ranch Inn. The dinning room was nice but menu was not impressive.

Lovely facility, quite upscale, but lacking warmth. Independent Living dining & common areas have much more appeal than Assisted Living facilities, and while told that 'sometimes' A.L. residents might be able to use the I.L. facilities, also told that this is subject to change once new A.L. Building opens. Food was fine, nothing exciting. All parking is underground and elevator accessible. No stoves in 'full' kitchens, and microwaves not provided.

We used this community for respite. I just feel that they’ve got too much work, but I have to call so many times to arrange - to make sure that things are okay. They never call me back. I had my loved one there and they didn’t really know what she did at night. They didn’t give me all of her shampoo and stuff – it was just lacking in peace of mind.

It's the best place we found for the price. They are not always so quick to respond to needs or concerns. We haven't gotten too many complaints, just between the communication with the staff, they don't seem to know all that is going on. If they would call me with an incident and I asked question they weren't able to answer all my questions. She seems to be in better spirits now.

I want families to know that they need to be very visible, be in there several times a week. Parking is fine. The food is okay. My loved one was in the memory care unit. They should have one person who was in there and responsible with the unit. Because they don’t there is a lot miscommunication.

Nice place. Residents were very friendly and happy! Wonderful independent and assisted living facilities. Memory was a little lacking. I understand that it needs to be a locked area, but it was small and felt closed in. My dad is still much more cognizant than the people here seemed to be. Five stars for independent and assisted living, two stars for memory care.

Due to recent events, I have to rate them a three. I’m very unhappy with them. The staffing level is not what they reported it to be. The laundry comes back with other people’s clothing in with my loved one’s. The parking situation is okay.

I haven’t been here very long so it’s really hard to rate, but it could be better.

Brand new. 93 Independent units. 109 Assisted. 45 Memory care. I saw Marbella Model and Calivera Studio Model. Have to walk outside to get to dining area in the Club House. No nursing stations. People wear pendents to push for help. Response team is supposed to be immediately. If want infor then have to go to receptionist at the desk in the clubhouse. Dining and units felt similar to being on a cruise. Had a pool. I just didn't care for it for some reason. Kinda of impersonal and uppity.

It was a bigger place with over two hundred people. They spoke my loved one’s language. It wasn’t a bad place. She was active. There could have been more activities. The community was more ethnic which was comfortable for us.

The communication could be a little better. They don't send anyone to accompany the residents if they go to the hospital. I looked at a lot of places and most of them were terrible, but I liked the way this was laid out. They have separate cottages so you don't have so many people in one place, some of the places looked like army barracks. I also liked the feeling I got from the staff here, they are the kind of people I would trust with my life.

It’s beautiful community. It’s very close to my house which might be a really good selling point. The residents all seemed very happy. My dad loves the community he’s in, but I might feel safer with him being in this community rather than the one he’s currently in.

It felt like a hotel resort, big and bustling, when we first went in. The apartments are beautiful and huge! Great if you are active, social and want lots of people around.

Much older facility but very nice. Much more affordable. Large rooms. One bedrooms are actually two studios put together as found in a hotel: (two bathrooms, two closets, two doors, two kitchenettes, etc.) Distance is the main obstacle for me.

The monthly fee seem quite high, the living space quite small. The meal menu seemed to lack choice for dinner. The place was clean and pleasant. Annual increase to the monthly fee is pretty steep.

My brother-in-law has lived at Atria Daly City for just a bit over a week, so he is still in transition. It has been difficult for him in several ways, some of which have nothing to do with the facility. In once incidence however, it seems a staff member was not very friendly, requesting that he leave a space that was designated for a game, because he was visiting with a guest in that space. He also has been told he cannot sit in certain places in the dining room by residents, as they appear very territorial. It seems a friendlier, more inclusive environment might be more welcoming for new residents.

So far, this place is fine. The only main problem we're having with them is that they don't return phone calls to family. They use the excuse that their phone systems don't work, but that cannot possibly be true for every time we call. The communication was fine before my loved one moved in, and now, we can't get any calls returned.
