Some of the care givers are more experienced than others. My mother was in one of the memory care cottages and she could be a handful to deal with those who were inexperienced in dementia patient behavior and sundowner syndrome. They would have to call us constantly to get my mother to cooperate with them. Her personal hygiene was a concern for us. She did receive showers regularly - it was more the daily routine we had concerns with. Washing of hands (she needed constant reminding and they lacked in that area), cleaning (specifically) and trimming of nails. Checking to be sure her bottom was cleaned after using the facilities. These are some examples of what I am referring to. Fortunately, someone was able to visit every other day so we kept a watch on these things.

I love living here because if the people - both residents and staff. There are lots of activities. The minuses are the noise of construction and cost of rent. Rents were raised 4% which is double the "cost of hiring" - one day it may be a 5 star but not yet.

My husband has been a resident at VP for almost a year. He has done so well there, as a direct result of the loving care he has received from [name removed], the director, and all of the wonderful caregivers. [Name removed] personally trained every employee and is hands on every day. Makes all the residents feel loved and cared for. She is an amazing person and, in my opinion, is the best! [Name removed], the Nurse, is also wonderful and caring and always there to help and answer any question you might have. [Names removed] and now [name removed], the chefs, are great as well. The food is delicious, and if there is something the resident doesn't like, they prepare something that does appeal to them. One thing that I don't see any other facility doing, is once or twice a month, [name removed] has an activity that includes the entire resident's family. It may be a buffet, or a Bar-B-Que, a tea, luncheon, etc. It is always fabulous & James does a great job with the food. The main thing that I absolutely love is that there is a "family atmosphere" there that you will not find any place else, I am convinced. I have tried others! Please give this facility a try.

I was there at Wyndham Lakes with my Husband having Lunch with my Mother . All I can say is 5 Star on the Dining Services Department . Wow Prime Rib, Roasted Lamb, Honey Glazed Ham and all the side dishes . What a Beautiful spread they put on .The Dining Room was set up with Beautiful Flowers on the tables and soft music playing . Met the Dining Dir and he truly takes pride of his Dining Room and his staff . They where all so warm and caring in helping seat us when we came in. [Name removed] was on the carving station . The prime Rib was to die for and as well as the hourseradish sauce to add a touch to it . [Name removed] is a joy at the front desk. Always smiling and so helpful. She is a keeper . The care staff was so up beat and full of joy today . I was sad to see there where know activities going on after lunch . It would have been nice to see Easter Lille’s around the Buliding and a Easter Hunt and candy for the residents . Over all the Buliding was very Beautiful from the new construction they went through .

My mother stayed at, Pacifica Senior Living for over two years and the management and staff were exceptional, always thoughtful, caring and supportive. In addition, I always encouraged my mom to walk everyday when possible and the location of, Pacifica Senior Living in San Leandro was perfect considering they are located conveniently in close proximity to Downtown San Leandro. All in all I would highly recommend, Pacifica Senior Living for anyone considering an assisted living facility in San Leandro.

My sister and I toured this community. It was a big community. The tour was OK they answered my questions. Here you have to bring your own furniture and we didn't like that. I had already chose another place and they called to check back with us and I told them I found something else cheaper and she almost begged me to come back there if they lowered the price. That rubbed me wrong.

Caregiver had an adverse attitude with rules and requirements. Eventually I feel Pacifica will "win out." I am enjoying my stay.

I toured Pacifica while looking for living options for my father. Overall, I really liked the community, but I was a little concerned about the design of it. It was composed of lots of little buildings with courtyards and walk ways, and I was concerned about my father walking alone or getting lost and confused among the buildings. It was also a little more expensive than we were hoping to spend, and it was further away from me that some other places we were considering. Overall, while it was a very nice-looking community, the set up concerned me, and we ultimately moved him elsewhere.

We toured this community for care. The staff was friendly and we liked the environment. The communist did not allow pets and the cost was more than planned. They do offer activities and the menu is appealing. We would suggest that families tour this community for the options and cost available.

I had a tour of this community for my loved one and it was a pleasant experience. The staff where very kind to my loved one and I made sure to give us a detailed look at everything they had to offer as well as answer any questions we had for them. They did not have the availability that I needed for my father and I wanted a little bit of a smaller community for him to live in,

My Dad has been at Pacifica Independent/Assisted Living for only 3 weeks and so far he's happy there. He enjoys the food, especially the fresh fruits and vegetables. He likes the companionship of the other Seniors and has participated in some of the social activities. These are the positives. One negative thing would be that the air conditioning in my Dad's room isn't working properly. The other is malfunctioning or unavailable laundry equipment. This is not acceptable as he just moved in there and likes to keep his clothes clean.

This looked like a clean community when we visited. The community did seem crowded and there was not a lot of place for the residents to walk around. The community is a little older and felt small. We were looking for a community with more room for mom to move around.

When We Toured this Brookdale, we did not like it at all. It seemed more like an institution and had a hospital feel to it. We wanted something nicer with more resident interaction, this place was not a good fit for my loved one.

My brothers and I love Atria Escondido for my mom. She lives in the memory care unit. The staff is incredibly friendly and caring and she is getting great attention. We thought she would never adapt to her new surroundings but within one week she was adapting fine, thanks to the staff. She is now very happy there and getting great care. She loves all of the activities and outings and the staff pays close attention to her daily routine and habits and assures that her care and comfort are customized to her. We couldn't be happier.

This community has redone some areas. The assisted living has had some improvements done and it is nice. The memory care wing is small, dark and did not appeal to us. The staff were nice.

Everything is going okay but he is still adjusting to not being at home. There are a lot of people, residents and staff and it is a little overwhelming. I'm comfortable with the care he's getting but some of the individuals he doesn't like and their personalities clash.They aren't as friendly as they should be. We are all still adjusting and evaluating our expectations. He is participating a little in activities and exercising. The community is very nice and well kept.

4.0 /5 My mother has lived at your facility for five plus years and we have seen four different companies take ownership which means we have seen many growing pains! My mom calls Pacifica her home! She loves the staff and our family is comfortable knowing she has good care. My mom almost died two months ago and as her daughter I can't thank Pacifica's staff for the one on one care they have given my mother so she could continue to live in her "home" at Pacifica. Because of Pacifica and many prayers, she is slowly recovering and becoming stronger. She is now looking ahead to next August to celebrate her 100th birthday! Thank you Pacifica for what you do for our loved ones, it is appreciated!

The staff members that gave my loved one and I a tour of this community where very friendly and made my father and I feel very welcomed. The facility was very beautiful and had lots of great amenities to offer there residents. The only complaint I would have is how small the bedrooms are for the price you pay.
