Overall, they are clean and the staff are all friendly, but our family definitely has some concerns. It seems that some of the services we were promised and are paying for are not actually happening. If our loved one presses the call-button, it can take up to 45 minutes for someone to come and help, and that's if they come at all. Our loved one can't go and participate or watch any of the activities because the staff doesn't come to help him. Definitely room for improvement.

We toured this facility. It has a pleasant atmosphere. The units were small but adequate. Residents were out and about. There seemed to be a good variety of activities. Staff was friendly.

This place was to far. The people were very nice, but the common area in the memory unit was very run down. They said they are in the prosesss of renevating.

I didn't get to go inside because the marketing director didn't return my calls. I saw the outside of the building and it looked nice, it was a little choppy, as far as getting from the apartment to the dining and activity areas. If it was rainy weather it was tricky for resident to get to the dining room, or at least under an overhang so that was kind of a compromise. They were average but better than a lot of the others in price. It was ok. They didn't have a 2 bed available at the time that we needed it, and I had a hard time getting the marketing director to call me back, so I didn't pursue them.

It wasn't as clean as where she is now, had the smell of urine. They were cooperative when making the transfer, but the cleanliness was lacking. They would have entertainment. There were times when was alone and she couldn't make it to the bathroom and couldn't make it. The food was ok. A couple of times she called for help and had to wait.

I liked the rooms there but in order to get to meals they had to walk outside, it was covered but even though it's Florida we do have some inclimate weather. The rooms were very nice and they all had screened in patios and were a good size with a full kitchen.

This was a nice enough looking place, and the people were friendly, but it lacked a few things we were wanting. It was a smaller place, so not as much social interraction. It also did not have a pool, which was something we were looking for specifically. The rooms also felt smaller, and the place had more of a dormitory atmosphere.

Older facility. What turned us off was that it was more like dorm style living, with a common area and then four rooms attached to it so that four individuals shared a living room and a small kitchenette area. We weren't sure dad would like that, and he wasn't really warm to the idea, though personally I feel that that may help with socialization. The units were co-ed, but at that age you don't worry about it!

I haven't been there yet, but my step mom says that everything is wonderful. They are taking good care of her and they seem to be accommodating. I don't think they do as well with communication, I have asked them to communicate and I don't see them doing that. It seems like they underestimated her care when they evaluated her in the hospital, and within the first week or so they raised the care charges, but Emeritus still seemed to fit best with our budget.

My mother does not like animals, and there were dogs laying in the hallway, and it smelled doggy.

They don't even have and outdoor area for assisted living at all and my parents really like to sit outside quite a bit. Also, we weren't crazy about the way the companion suites were at all.

It seemed to be a bit more enclosed there. I thought they needed a bit of refurbishing in that place.

The way they have it set up, it's just not great. The grounds are pretty but the facility itself isn't that great. The dining room is a little tiny. They have separate buildings with blocks of rooms so your building has a like a dining hall. It's not really a restaurant. It's like they cart it in from somewhere else and if you have friends in another building then you can't have dinner with them. It's very bizarre.

My parents went in as assisted living but my mother is kind of marginal, she can do stuff, but I don't think they checked in on her enough. When she came home she had pressure ulcer on her feet which means she stayed in the bed too many days. Even with assisted they need to check and make sure they get up and not stay in a bed all the time - that's why it's assisted. Other than that everyone was very nice and everything was good. My parents were there for respite for a month and for her to come back with pressure ulcers after a month was not good. I think I would use a different place next time.

It was a very dated building. People were very open but the environment, I felt, was a little too hospital-like. I wanted more of a community that had a sitting area and a little more open common areas.

This is much more of an assisted living and mom really didn't need that. We had her evaluated, she doesn't have any dementia, the only issue is her hip and she shouldn't really be left alone, so that's her only issue. So the more she moves around the better and she doesn't really need something as extensive. They were very nice but just walking in, I knew the transition for her from her condo to the Monroe House would be very hard for her. There were people who were a little more incapacitated and some people in transition don't really need all of that, it's a terrible shock going from her own home to a place like that knowing it's the last stop.

I didn't get the warm and fuzzy feeling like I did when I walked in to some other places. It felt like there wasn't as much help or something, I don't know. It felt like my father-in-law would be going into a cooler environment, not so warm and fuzzy.

I didn't like the size of this community, it was too large. From what I saw of the cleanliness, it seemed fine.

The people who are actually taking care of the people, there are several of them there that are very very good. And most of them are good. They enjoy what they do and are really concerned about the people. Chester is a sweethart. He so good and Aurora is super. There are people there that are very very good with people like my mom. The management, I would probably give them a 1. I don't want to get into it. I've seen good people there leave because they don't agree with how thing are done. I think, as a business, they're more concerned witht the marketing end of it but they do hire good people. I tryi to avoid too much contact with the management because I tend to get a little upset when I talk to them. They have a 97% occupancy rate so they don't care. Arbors has a dollar amount in their mind of what they want to get from the people and they don't care. If you don't like you can go somewhere else because they have people to fill in. They said the extra care costs would not be more than $400 and on the first bill they tacked on an extra $1200. They charged $60 for helping to order supplies when I had already gotten her depends. My experience may be different from other people.

Felt this place was too large (I felt lost)and was more hospital like then homey. Not a good match for my Father.
