For me, the jury is still out. They brought in a lot of new tenants when [community removed] closed down and I don't think they had the staff to handle it. There have been many miscommunications and overlooked illnesses and details that are quite important. I struggle with clear communication with the administrative staff. I also struggle with the Responsibility they take on some very important things that you expect to come naturally from a facility like that.

I think the facility is understaffed to the point that not enough proper care can be given to the patients or to the upkeep of the rooms and facilities.

Not one I want to remember! I did leave and come back. I don't leave my room. I am not happy here anymore! Food is awful I order out. I have more to say!!!! This is all I have to say! ,,........ Thank you

I can't remember the guys name we dealt with, I think it starts with an [name removed]. He was great, and multiple times we had to make complaints to him directly because nobody else was getting it taken care of and he would handle it immediately. The amount rent was compared to my grandmothers care, a lack of. I blame them for not calling 911 when my grandmother fell that last day. Instead called my mother later in the day to pick her up and take her to the er. My grandmother passed away about a week later. She had a stroke. Assisted living is called "assisted" for a reason.

This facility is nice in most respects. It does need some upgrades and repairs, but the worst part is the food. It does not meet anybody's dietary requirements. The people who prepare it I don't think have ever prepared food before it is unappetizing to say the least there is almost no fresh fruits or vegetables. The food is not served hot so this could create medical problems. our new executive director is trying her best, but she has corporate to deal with.

Some staff need. Better qualifications and training. Food for me is a real problem. . I have celiac disease and they have no setup or interest in any kind of provisions for that nor any attempt to accommodate that . I knew what when i came in but thought they might do something. The food must of the residents complain about the quality and frequency of the entrees. Room has three sizes plus some two bedrooms . I have a two bedroom and like it . Activities. Bingo , exercise plus others

Overall an adequate experience. Most of the staff is very nice, but appear to be short-handed. However, there are a couple of nurses that are not quite so nice ( at least in my mother-in-law’s experience) that have caused more of an issue for the elderly who is trying to get adjusted to this new way of life. Residents also are nice and form a caring community amongst themselves. The sales team is excellent and helpful. The dining is satisfactory but takes too long for the actual food to be served in the assisted living dining room (again, staffing shortage?).

The building is located conveniently to a lot of places. The interior is nice and bright which is nice for low vision residents. The apartments are newly renovated with flooring and appliances. My biggest concern is with staffing. There isn’t a marketing person available on weekends and I kind of had trouble getting an initial tour. The person who helped me suddenly was gone and no one contacted me to let me know who I would be working with.

My step mom didn't really appreciate the breakdown in communication after my dad was admitted to the hospital and there was a lot of confusion regarding his clothing and furniture so, maybe labeling literally everything would be prudent.

The price was reasonable that's within my budget. Overall, I was not happy with the place. Took my wife out in 2 months. Not recommend! The housekeeper kept removing things from the room without my permission, didn't periodically check if restroom was clean, and didn't speak English.

My experience with Alta Vista is ok, not great though. The staff is pretty good. They can stand to hire more personnel. The food is OK, it can be better. I believe the facility need more outside activities.

We moved out due to new management the price went up about [removed]$ so we decided to move him home with us. The place was not looking after him like we wished and management what not there because of them transitioning so we had little to no support with anything after this last year living there

We would give a 3 on each with meals and friendliness of staff a 4. We don't think there is enough staff and they don't spend enough time when mom needs something done. They rush and make her feel bad about spending time such a showering. The pharmacy consistently runs out of medications. My mom will sometimes go a week or more without them. This is a huge problem!

Friendliness and dedication of the nurses that I like most of the facility. They have many things to improve on: cleanliness, especially the floors in memory care. Many improvements need to be maintained. I feel that memory care is often forgotten in the activity spectrum...the residents need more motivation. The quality of care is lacking due to short staff issues. Also, the memory care security door needs to be addressed. They need personnel just to let in and out visitors. The nurses are too busy taking care of residents and don't need to be running back and forth every time someone needs to come in or go out. I have waited outside the door several times for a lengthy time for someone to respond. Our families have experience and would not recommend.. need many improvements. Such as maintenance, cleanliness short staffed and better activities.

The facility is nice, but is understaffed. The caregivers are kind and respectful and doing their best, but we have had challenges with lack of communication, delay in response to maintenance requests, response time when assistance requested not always in a timely manor, transport services have been unavailable now for over 6 months, and there are not adequate washers and dryers for the number of residents.

I like the people and the cleanliness best. The staff are all friendly , welcoming and easy to talk with about care. Meals are balanced but there is little deviation from the menu for those with dietary issues. They also could respond quicker to residents.

The facility is beautiful and very playfully decorated. The touring experience was great. The room was a good size. Visiting hours and rules were good. I didn't love the lack of communication in regard to medication. We didn't feel like the staff listened to us very well.

This was not a good fit for my loved one. They are only interested in easy patients that do not require a lot of work and those who do not cause problems. Every week when I tried to get my loved one to take a shower I had to spend 15 min trying to track down a caregiver just to get a towel. I barely saw any activity except them sitting and watching tv. Also, there is only 2 guest bathrooms in the facility. One on the 1st floor and 1 on the second. The bathroom on the second floor was out of order for several weeks. Had to go downstairs to use the facility bathroom.

It's a beautiful building with a pleasant outdoor space. The staff is caring and competent. I especially appreciated the food service staff. Those young people were exceptionally involved, funny, and solicitous of my parent. More events to encourage community for all members. Community members seemed clicque-ish. My parent was too isolated there. It wasn't a good fit, although we toured multiple times. Management has room for improvement. It was a really poor choice for us. A lovely, historic building, with excellent employees, but it lacked support when it was most needed. Great for an active senior; close to Hollywood amenities, and provides transportation.

I would love if they incorporate a physical fitness program where they brought in a physical fitness person twice a week. Everyone is friendly and nice except one waitress that my mom tangles with once in a while. They have a cleaning person clean my mom's room once a week. They also wash her sheets and towels for her and makes her bed each week with clean sheets. My mom is still independent so she doesn't require much care. This is the one area that my mom complains daily about the food. They tend to run out of the good food choices quickly so by the time she comes down to eat they are not edible. The vegetables tend to be mushy and have no taste. Sometimes the food choices are not edible. She will always eat dessert though. They need to offer more activities. Bring in more entertainment and get them out of the facility more also it would be nice if the could have shuttle service on Sundays so that she can find a church near by to attend. Her rent was just raised $[removed] a month and while this is her first rent hike I feel it is high based on the things she is offered.
