Pacifica Senior Living

Overall our mom seems very happy and we feel safe having her there. She has a beautiful, remodeled apartment. The front desk staff could have it together a little better, but they are friendly. More exposure about activities would be nice. Some might need more than a calendar. For the money, I would expect a little more high end service.

The location was most ideal (very close to our home) and the price was within our budget. If a friend asked me about the community I would say it's friendly, clean, being renovated with nice upgrades. The area is beautiful and quiet and offers everything we were looking for in a Senior Living Facility.

Upper management staff is FANTASTIC. We did have a few issues with the care staff at first but it is ALWAYS ADDRESSED and taken care of (I do not fault this facility as help is hard to find) Overall rating for me is actually a 4.5

Avila assisted living in San Luis Obispo has had some challenges in the past year and a half. They changed ownership recently. There has been dissatisfaction by residents and families. But I believe they are working hard to address several issues and make improvements. I was pleased to finally tour the facility. It is a lovely campus. Remodeling is happening at the moment. The noise that causes can be disruptive but it will be worth it. Staff turnover has been a problem. They recently got a new cook and the meals have improved with several options available and not so many heavy carbs. The one issue we had with my aunt was that she has a history of bipolar disorder. A few weeks ago she had an episode of disorientation and anxiety. The folks at Avila didn't seem to know how to handle that. They called my sister who lives there in San Luis and said they couldn't keep her. So my sister went and got her and took her to her home. She previously had gone to the ER but they found nothing wrong with her. Turns out she had a UTI that was caught a few days later. My aunt did not sleep that night but left the house and wandered the streets thinking she needed to die. Her psychiatrist was on vacation but told my sister to take her to UCLA medical center (a three plus hour drive away.). Anyway she was stabilized and recovered from her UTI and returned to Avila. My husband and I were not happy with how the situation was handled so last week we drove the 600 miles to see how things could be improved. We visited mental health resources to n town and located a crisis stabilization unit that would have taken her for up to 72 hours. When we visited with the nurse and new director at Avila they were not aware that this facility took geriatric patients. So now they know! There were other resources there too n town that would be helpful to my aunt and sister. I think as the new director is there longer she will get things figured out. My aunt is back to her normal cheerful self and we have a plan if anything happens like that again.

It's all so robotic, very sad. Having more of a personal touch would be a good improvement. Maybe prepare food that is flavorful, add some heart when preparing. Obviously, taking into consideration nutritional needs.

We toured Pacifica Senior Living Burlingame during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. The staff at this facility was welcoming. They offer physical therapy in-house. The facility is older, the elevator is older also. Their resident rooms are older and in need of upgrades (ie: heater in wall, older appliances, old lighting, old bathrooms).

The people. [name removed], the activities person, is amazing! And so is [name removed] in the office. She's very helpful. There are some things they need to fix though. The sidewalks outside the patio are all uneven and for older folks who are print to falling that is very dangerous. My mom says their food is terrible. They also have a big ant problem.

The staff members are nice, but there is just not enough and they have difficulty reaching out loved one by phone due to the staffing shortages. When it comes to the quality of care that is so far so good. We have never seen any meals, and there were no activities going on until recently. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families but with the understanding that communication can be difficult

We picked this community, because I iked the small number of people each house, how things were run, private room for mom and the fact family can visit anytime. I have told people my mom is very happy there and she is able to live to her abilities, many activities she enjoys, the staff is very caring. Wonderful place.

Most of the staff at The Woodmark at Sun City are very friendly and helpful. The facility is in pristine condition and doesn't feel like an "old folks home". The move in process we experienced wasn't very good and I didn't feel held up to what we had been told it would be. A lot of the activities are geared for older people and my parents are not as old as most of the other residents, so it makes it frustrating for them. Overall, I would definitely recommend The Woodmark at Sun City!

My loved one was a resident at Pacifica Senior Living Riverside for a short time, so I was not really able to establish a solid relationship with the staff nor routines. I can say that family need to be constantly involved in the process of activities. I felt that based on the communication I experienced with the admitting staff that communication was probably a strong asset of the facility. In reality, I felt communication was initiated by myself. There were events that occurred that I feel I should have been notified about. My comfort level with the facility was not firm and it may be due to the brief stay. I did have a very frustrating period of communication with the 'after hours' staff. Being new to the 'system' I feel that is when communication should be at a heightened level. The issue was resolved after contacting higher management but it should not have to go that far. I would recommend the facility to others, but would encourage the continued involvement by the family.

My loved one is currently a resident at Pacifica Senior Living Riverside in the Memory Care unit. Overall, the experience at this facility has been good. The cleanliness and friendliness are good. The meals and activities are also good. The care services are okay. I believe that the staff at Pacifica Senior Living Riverside are truly dedicated and try to help those in their care.

I like the community, everyone is very nice but the residents complain about the food. It's also under new management/ownership and they are making a lot of cuts and changes that the residents do not care for.It is very close to my house and the studio rooms were a little larger for the monthly rent compared to other places.

We picked this community because it was close to my house. I'd recommend it. People are friendly. Location is quiet. My dad got a first floor apartment. Apartment is large and has hardwood flooring throughout. A must with small animals.

My loved one is currently a resident at Tampa Gardens Senior Living and the experience overall has been okay. Some of the staff are great, others not so much. The activities are very poor. I would suggest more music activities. There aren't very many even though music activities are the most attended activity by the residents. At this time, I cannot recommend Tampa Gardens Senior Living. I expected more and was told that I could expect more on move in.

The staff at Pacifica Senior Living Hillsborough always helps when we have questions. The move in process was easy. The meals always look and smell great! The facility is very clean-no smells. I am left wondering a little about the activities. I haven't really asked about them much either. I would say that yes, I would recommend this facility to others. My loved one is in the Memory Care transitions unit, so she can't really answer questions we ask, but she seems happy and well fed!

I have been a resident here for 11 years- under 3 Executive Directors, many changes and Covid. Not surprisingly attitudes and morale of residents and staff has deteriorated. After being on a negative ride for several years, things are looking up under the leadership of the new Executive Director. She is exciting and innovative and is creating an atmosphere of caring and concern. Both residents and staff are responding to her positive attitude.

Minor issues were that they tried to feed a ham sandwich to my Jewish mother and did not know that pork and ham are the same thing. Also we were billed for medication that we specifically told them her insurance would not cover. Minimal activities were provided based on the condition that my mom was in. Everything else was very good.

We moved my loved on into Gardens at Northridge right before they transitioned owners. There was a lot of turnover then, as a result. Not the best experience with that period. Otherwise, the move in process was ok. Communication with the family could improve. We were never informed that the prior Executive Director had left or when the new Executive Director arrived. I stumbled upon that information. However, the new Executive Director seems very proactive. The staff at this facility are friendly and attentive, they know their residents. The food looks fine. The housekeeping is good. All in all, they do a good job here. As I understand it, they are one of the better care providers in our area.

Overall, nice. Meals lacking. Too much grease, Hispanic food, cockroaches (saw 1 in kitchen area.) Maintenance poor, housekeeping weak (lackluster). Overall, appears they are trying to save money such that it compromises residents needs/comforts. Staff good with few exceptions. Lots of residential complaints. I am comfortable for cost. Affordable, yet overall I would not recommend if you can afford more. Unprofessional and extremely cheap on repairs and maintenance issues. Overall acceptable, yet lots of room for improvement!
