They are very friendly! There have been some adjustments on the price, but they seem to be very aggressive in accommodating my mother. My brother and his son live in the City and they seem to be pleased - I've heard no complaints. My mother is very social and she's interfacing with a lot of folks, doing activities, and as your world is closing in on you, that's all you could hope for. It's her money, so might as well use it to pay for the Hilton!

The staff is friendly as are the other tenents. The food is excellent. We have only been here a week but it looks like we are going to enjoy it.

This is a definite NO. This is a beautiful facility. Very friendly, the residence seem very happy. Very clean, no smell, the rooms are wonderful. However it is very expensive and they have nothing available within our price range.

It felt more homey and less like a hotel or apartment building. It had some grass and patios and porches. It is older so it is laid out more single story with porches rather than apartments with balconies.

My dad was here for a really long time. We thought that was a really good place. He was in independent living, and he only left to go to assisted living. Forest Trace is very well run. They provided two meals a day, and they did have care available on site if you needed it.

We love it! They did an assessment free of charge. Between my mom's physician report and their assessment they determined that she should be in the memory center. It's a lock down facility with very limited social interaction. The other people had advanced Alzheimer's and were uncommunicative. It was very stressful because my mother's dementia only affects part of her life. Otherwise she is very cognizant of everything. We petitioned the director to have her reassessed within a week. He personally took charge of her case and said as long as we feel she's not a danger to herself or other he would do everything in his power to get her into the general population. In 3 weeks she was moved to the best room in the whole facility. It's closes to where she's around other caregivers, right down the hall from the lobby, community room, and dining room. They do everything in their power to make her feel comfortable and the price went down 60%! Nobody does that! They provide transportation to doctor's appts but if you need to be wait for you or something, that would be an added cost. When I was out of town for a month they have sent someone in with her at all 6 PT appts to sit and wait for her and never charged me a cent! They treat my mother like family. They don't have all the bells and whistles that some other places have but my mom doesn't need all that. They are family oriented. You never see the director in his office. He's always out and about. He's totally accessible. We had a billing problem with the insurance company. He called the insurance company himself and he found out what the problem was which wasn't even on his end. He went the extra 20 miles to contact the insurance company instead of just saying the problem wasn't on their end. They are absolutely amazing so we are just thrilled to death.

Emeritus is set up with six to eight different cottages, with eight rooms per cottage. They all have single rooms, and just one that is a locked dementia unit. The rest have beautiful grassy areas and covered porches. They have nice handicap accessible private bathrooms in each room. There is a group dining room and kitchen at one end of each cottage and big living room with a fire place at the other end of the cottage. In between there is the nurses station an medicine cart. There are probably 45-65 residents total. The dementia unit it has an outdoor courtyard with landscaped walkways they can walk around. It is safe and locked. This is a really nice plus, especially for those that wander.

My friend likes Pacifica very much. It is an excellent place. They have seven different units and place the residents in units according to their ability. There are only seven residents in my friend's unit. They all eat in the dining room. There is also an rec room for activities. There is a nurse on staff 24/7. For the price, you can't beat it.

A Place for Mom was instrumental in our family finding The Arbors Assisted Living in San Diego. Our dad has been in The Arbors for about 3 weeks now but we have worked with The Arbors for a few months getting everything lined up. We are very happy with The Arbors. It is a great place and the staff is fantastic. Thank you "A Place for Mom" AND "The Arbors"!

My mother's only been there two weeks but so far it's great. The cost includes rent, all utilities, meals and everything so it's very affordable. It's not assisted living. Basically you go and rent a house, not an apartment, but a separate house and it's a nice house too. They provide dinner every night, lunch on Saturdays and brunch on Sundays. Mom has her own kitchen so she can cook for herself and that's working out really well. They have tons of activities. They have a bible study which she likes. They have wood working shop, crafts, which she's totally in to, bridge, and canasta. I highly recommend it! Their dining room is very nice, like a high class restaurant and the food is great. They have a very good chef. From the cleaning ladies to the maintenance people, everybody is just so nice!

It's wonderful! Of course the value is relative to the income of the person. It's expensive I think, considering the retirement that people have but for the money the care is good. It's good that my mother-in-law is mobile so she doesn't really need a lot of care right now but if she needs care it is available so that's good. It works out very well. There are plenty of activities and that's what we were looking for. I have recommended it to a lot of other families that I know. I think from what I know, my MIL only has one complaint. Out of all the ladies that help her in the morning one of them is very rough and unfriendly. It's just that one that she ever complains about.

Atria is a very interesting place. However, knowing people who have lived here and passed on, I'd say this is a quiet little bedroom community. We're near the Del Mar race track so there's quite a bit of a traffic situation during the year and it gets thicker every year. I've been in San Diego for 30, almost 40 years it was a very nice, quiet place, a place you could have a picnic in if you will and now it's a small, booming city. The people who work here are absolutely fantastic, they have a high degree of emotional understanding of older people, I was trained in that. I have a PhD in it and it behooves me to sit and watch the people who serve the food, the pills, mow the lawn, things like that. This is a group of happy people. We have people from foreign countries who amaze me that they can come here and not know a word of English and within a week can come here and speak English excellently, it's fabulous. Most of us our either in wheelchairs or walkers, very few people walk on their own without at least a cane. As far as personalities, I'm very much a loaner, however I've decided to mix a little bit to understand what goes on in these type of places. Out of the 80 or 90 so people here, there's one man here I absolutely do not get along with so I avoid him, whatever personality you had before will be more so when you're older.

The WoodMark is great. The people are very caring and call my Dad by Name every time..he like that!! It has a very comfortable feel and everyone seems happy.

They've been great. They do all kinds of stuff. They have parties and they go on trips to malls and museums. They just seem to have a never ending stream of that stuff going on. The food is really good - my mom really likes it. I don't think there are any ways they can improve. This is our only experience with a place like this and it's been great so far.

That was very expensive! If my friend could have afforded it I thought it would have been wonderful. I was very nice!

My mother-in-law is very happy there. She's independent right now. They do meals and housekeeping and all that is very good. The activities are there but I don't know how much she's taking part in them. I think that the cost, for what you get, is very good. They're in a very safe area and they take care of the residents. They check them in and check them out and keep track of them. We're very happy with them. My mother-in-law was not wanting to go, of course, like 95% of people don't want to move but she's happy. The food is good.

Very Nice, clean, Big! Offers many options and a nice environment. This facility had only one small unit and a large unit. Would be interested in something in between. the staff was friendly and clean.

Mom was only there for a week but they took such good care of her. The girls were just so attentive and so kind. They did everything they could do to make her feel comfortable. Even the maintenance guy was great. When we were moving in the maintenance guy was right there to help us. They were all very nice! The cost averages out to the same as everybody else in town. It's good for California. They're the best, you know. We knew she wasn't going to be around long so why not giver her the best? And the really are the best in Hemet!

So far okay. It's only been a short period of time - about a month that we've been working with them and my mother has only been living there about a week and a half. So far the care is good. They have all kinds of activities. My mom only been here like a week and half so we're not sure about all of them yet. So far she's okay. She said the food is okay.

I'm thrilled with it. It's fantastic. They've just gone above and beyond to make my brother feel welcome. He's kind of in his own category. He's not so senile to be a typical patient there but he needs enough help to have to be in this situation and he's only 60. They've really gone out of their way to find him things to do that make him feel useful and create an atmosphere where he feels a part of it. It's always clean, it always smells good. The people are great. I really have nothing but good things to say. in comparision with other places it's a good value
