They are very clean. The staff is extremely friendly, I would give them a ten. Some of the activities are geared a little towards the older population. The food is quite good. It would be nice to have a swimming pool. We chose them because of the friendliness of the staff, and because we really felt at home, and the apartment was spacious.

They have an exceptionally friendly staff. It’s ten times better than where we had our loved one before. They’ve been able to get my loved one involved in activities. It’s just independent living so you can’t age in place there, but for independent living they are an exceptional value for the money.

It’s a nice, good, and clean facility. The care staff are really nice and they do their best. The food is most of the time good. And just overall my mother-in-law is very happy. It’s a small community with only fifty-eight rooms. There has always been good parking. We haven’t had any issues with laundry services.

It was personnel related. Everyone was very diligent in their work and very attentive to the seniors living there. I would recommend them certainly. There is enough parking. The staff was very good. The staff recently changed at the top and they were really working hard and remodeling much of it. They were putting 100% effort in to making things better. They were doing construction in the offices to make them more efficient.

OVERALL, THE FOOD IS GOOD BUT SOMETIMES, TOO FANCY. WISH WERE MORE ORDINARY. SPHAGETTI AND MEAT SAUCE WOULD BE NICE. MISS SAUCES. PEOPLE ARE WONDERFUL. SERVICES GREAT. STAFF GREAT. LOTS OF ROOM IN OUR APARTMENT. CLUBS ARE FUN.

They are great! There really isn't anything that I would like to see improved or done better, except maybe the price. They were in the same range as everyone else though. My mom chose this community over others because she just liked the feel of it better, the overall atmosphere.

This community is a very comfortable place. It really did feel like home. Everyone was very welcoming. It felt very easy to take my mom there. I was very pleased. I looked for many weeks, at many, many places before we made a decision. I was very satisfied, even though her stay was short

Are they set up to take full care of my mom? Seems like Independent Living, and we need nursing or assisted. I like very much and would like to visit.

I am living at Bixby Knolls Towers , independent living, in Long Beach, California for almost 4 years. The apartments here are beautiful. There are Studios, 1 bedroom, and 2 bedroom apartments and all of them also have fully equipped kitchens even though they serve 3 meals a day in the main dining room. Lots and lots of closet space. Rent includes linens, towels, toilet paper, etc., basic cable TV, all utilities except phone. Cleaning lady cleans your apartmet once a week, 3 gourmet meals a day in a luxurious dining room. Laundry room on the premises. Car service to doctors appointments, shopping, etc., many activities. If you become disabled and no longer can be independent you can move to the Assisted Living section which is next door to the towers. This really is a very comfortable place to live and the surroundings are beautiful. The people are friendly. The staff is great. I really like it here and I can highly recommend this place.

I really, really liked this place for Mom.

They do an excellent job here overall. The staff are excellent about communicating and staying in touch with families, which I appreciate since I do not live in the same state. It is a nice, clean facility, the staff are friendly, and they attend to all of my loved ones needs. And, although I have no tried it myself, I have heard good things about the food from relatives.

I'm so glad that "A Place for Mom" helped me find The Meridian at Lake San Marcos! I did not know about it and it has turned out to exceed both mine and my mom's expectations. Mom says she feels this is living "a normal living style" versus a typical retirement community. She thinks this is why the residents are so warm and friendly, let alone the terrific staff that learned her name immediately. All of the family love coming to visit her and dine at their fantastic restaurant, where you have a wide selection of menu options and can eat any time the restaurant is open. And it's nice you can actually order a drink - that's really a classy retirement community! The Meridian also turned out to be the best price of all the locations I researched (12 different facilities). It was also important to me that the "Independent Living" buildings were separate from "Assisted Living." At the Meridian, both are beautifully appointed and managed.

My mother is a resident at the Arbors and has been there for almost two years. I am impressed by the exceptional care that she always receives. The staff is attentive and addresses all her needs. When she uses the call button, they check on her in a timely manner and are courteous. She appreciates the kind and warm assistance that the staff provides and my mother looks well taken care of. The facility is clean, welcoming and her room is always spotless. They accommodate her occasional dietary needs and the dining facility is inviting. The receptionist gets customer service! She is absolutely wonderful. The Executive Director, Tiffany, is in the right job! Her professionalism and leadership is why the Arbors is such a success. My mother is happy and this certainly gives our family peace of mind!

I have had an excellent experience. I would go there myself. I haven't seen anything I would like to see improved or done better, at least so far. I felt they had the friendliest staff of all the places I looked at, and they connected to my father a little more. It seemed unpretentious, and really seemed to fit his personality.

My second tour at this location with my 73-year-old mother in the past year. The appearance of the grounds went from very good to great in my estimation so far. It looks like the property has been refreshed over the last 12 months with paint, furniture, lighting, etc., which indicates a caring attitude about the visual and living aspects of the facility. Mr. Mark Maxwell (Community Relations Director) is a pleasure to communicate with. Seems to have a love for his job that transfers over to the other staff and guests. All contact with staff and guests was positive. Tried hard to find flaws or issues, but was unsuccessful! Looking forward, as is my mother, to becoming part of the "Emeritus Family".

After looking at 3 or 4 different options, we really liked that this community is not on a main street. There's a park all the way around it and the environment is sort of woodsy. It's a very nice setting. Also, on the inside, we really like the way it's organized and all the floors have the same footprint. It has a very nice and warm feel. Also, they have a 7am - 7pm kitchen time, so the eating times are very flexible.

We really liked it. They have a little disc that they put in front of the residents outside door at night, and it doesn't let the residents know that they are being watched but they can tell if a resident comes out of the room or not, and know to check on them. There is no easy way to get from San Clemente to them. They were beautiful, affordable, and truly amazing! If it wasn't for the location I would have pursued it more. They offered full range from independent to Alzheimers, and they don't have separate wings, so you didn't have to move apartments if your care needs increased.

Well, it is expensive, but long term care insurance certainly helps. I am very happy with this place, and so is my family! Our loved one seems to be doing very well here and is well taken care of! I feel very comfortable with the place, and we all liked this one the best out of the others in the area!
