My father was living in the Bay Area and needed to move closer to us since he wasn't eating much and was alone in his apartment most of the time just watching TV. Everybody was worried about him. He was declining. So, we toured a few places, some of those small "board and care" (too small) and some really nice corporate type facilities (too big and mega expensive). We decided on Nazareth after touring and eating a great lunch (salmon, rice, veggies, cake), we talked to some of the resident's about their lives here and we talked to the staff too. I liked that they have an on-site LVN all week and one at night too. The prices are fair--even though it seems like a lot of money the Sales Director showed us that if you added Dad's current rent, food, utilities, etc. he would end up paying about $300 more per month and he didn't have to do a thing but join everyone in the dining room for meals, and make friends and live his life. There are staff 24/7, they give Dad his medications on time and in the right amount (he was not taking his meds at home). He's coming out of his shell now and that's a relief. It's a great place.

Our Dad was recently diagnosed with Dementia after an operation that went bad. The discharge planner at the hospital tried to help us, but you just have to get out there and tour. It was really hard too--people in dementia places are not in their right minds any longer. We looked at 6 Memory Care places and chose Park Place because the staff really knew what to do and how to handle people like Dad. I'm relieved that Dad is being cared for, but miss his personality.

The property needs updating. We do not know a lot about the activities because my father in law does not participate in them. The access to smoking area or indoor court should be made for people in wheelchairs. They have to push the door open with their hands and pull the door while all in the wheelchair. It's a safety issue. The access from his room has a sliding glass door which is access to the court area and it is very difficult for him to get out.

Mom was living alone in my childhood home after Dad died and was getting really lonely and depressed. We grew up middle class, so mom didn’t have a lot of money for a new apartment -and one that served meals and had activities and all of that good stuff. We’re so glad we found Nazareth Park Place! They have big studio apartments, she gets three yummy meals every day, and most important, new friends. Mom has five close friends now at her new home. The staff are great too--and the location is excellent.

This is a super affordable and fun senior living community. I visited several of these places in the Sacramento area on behalf of some friend’s--who are in their 70’s. Their incomes are a bit tight, so I was glad I found Nazareth Park Place-great prices for what you get. As a former real estate broker, I can tell you that the location is superb--close to Arden Fair Mall, Country Club Mall, across the street from Kaiser and near lots of shopping. When I toured with the Executive Director, I noticed that the building looked a bit older than some of the other senior living places I had toured, but the size of the apartments, really nice staff and core amenities were excellent. The prices are SO much more affordable than some of the larger, newer assisted living places! I’m going to recommend this community to my friend’s to check out.

The activities here are great. The person that coordinates them really does a good job of making sure that they are fun and not repetitive for the residents. The facility is always clean and it seems to be well run. The food could be a little less bland.

That probably would have been my second choice. I like a lot of things about the feel of that place. We met with the director there and I liked her philosophy on a lot of things we talked about. The thing that I didn't like is I don't think there were any private rooms and they also had a situation where they had two rooms which actually would be 4 people sharing one bathroom and I didn't care for that at all. But as far as the feel of the place, I liked it and it seemed like the care was good there.

They have a good amount of activities - bingo, crafts, day trips. My mom lived here and she had fallen several times and there was no one to escort her down to dinners. Also, you had to fill out a menu a week in advance. They could improve on the quality of their meals. If they could have little menus on the table to choose from that day, that would be a big improvement. It's a little cramped in the dining room. Square table instead of round tables would make it easier for the residents to sit together.

Based off the tour and when we moved our loved one in, the community was pretty clean. The friendliness of the staff members does tend to vary, we were able to speak with the new head nurse and she was nice. Our concern is the breakdown and the lack of communication between the staff and families. Also on how the staff addresses the residents, sometimes they can be unprofessional and rude. The front desk lady is awesome, we love her she is always positive and supportive. We do know our loved one is being taken care of, however we are concerned with the level of care she is at and that they are not following through with those care service. The different levels of care and services for those levels are unclear. Even with COVID the activities they do offer seem pretty decent

My mom has lived at the Springs for a year. This is the 3rd facility she has lived at and by far the best. The staff is amazing and so friendly and helpful and you know they truly care about the residents. The facility has had no cases of Covid and that’s due to their diligence. They communicate with family regularly.

I am very pleased with the care and the physical environment at this facility. My mom has thrived here and the staff has helped me with insight and support.

They mean well and Mom is getting OK care, but we are used to more detail-oriented care, more activities, especially access to a shady garden area, so while the "value" is better than many of the more expensive sites, we think sometimes they mean well but are short-handed and too busy for the staff they have. We visit often and will volunteer to help get a garden going and we are hopeful that with time they will catch up with their good intentions. We are glad we found them for our Mom, overall.

I would recommend the assisted living side but not their memory care facility.. they aren't equipped with staff that's trained at all in dementia care residents. The 3- month enrollment incentive is what attracted us.

I'm very disappointed in their activities. When we first moved in, they had 3 or 4 activity staff. Now I think there's one part- time person. My mother's cognition has declined due to lack of simulation & engagement. The administration team is constantly changing.

Repair to the heating system very slow. Lack of air conditioning in the summer. No heat in my husbands wing in the fall. Ham sandwiches and hot Dogs served for meals. Big problem with medication A few weeks before adding the prescription to my husbands med list prescription added by the ED department of the hospital. Therefore sending him back to the ED. I can't understand their process.

I would say, at first it seemed ok however; the amount per month for what is provided was outrageous. I would then tell my friend to look elsewhere because things went downhill, room cleanliness, missing personal items, missing clothing, finding my loved one dressed in clothing other than his, poor quality meals and other concerns.
