Review for The Woodlake

The dining experience is just wonderful. I've sampled the food several times and find it just really outstanding compared to some of the other places. The staff are very generous with their time and easy to deal with and they have found a way to remember the names of everyone living there and even visitors like myself. The prices were lower than the other facilities and they offered an incentive to move in. She seems very happy there.

There really is now place like Home. But The Esther is as good as it gets.

When Dad got COVID 4 days prior turning 100 yrs. old he lost the strength in his legs and after rehab we felt he needed some way to keep a quality of living that we couldn't give him at home. He wasn't thrilled at first and is somewhat set in his ways (you can imagine). But the staff and "famaily" at the Esther have treated him like a king. They have taken care of his ongoing medical needs, social desires, and our requests for him. The folks at the Esther are upbeat and helpful anytime we arrive to visit and they take Dad to his many appointments for medical needs. We couldn't ask for much more from folks there and would recommend starting out searching at the Esther THANK YOU ALL [name removed]

amazing activities!!

The activities at The Woodlake Senior Living are truly exceptional! They offer such a wide variety of programs that there’s always something fun, engaging, and meaningful happening. From fitness classes and art workshops to group outings and game nights, the team does an amazing job creating opportunities for residents to stay active, social, and happy. My loved one looks forward to the daily schedule and has rediscovered hobbies they hadn’t done in years. The staff’s enthusiasm and dedication to making every event enjoyable really shine through. It’s heartwarming to see residents smiling, laughing, and connecting with one another. If you’re looking for a senior living community that prioritizes not just care but also quality of life, The Woodlake is the perfect choice. Their activities program is second to none!

Love the Woodlake!

The Woodlake has exceeded all of our expectations for independent living! From the moment we toured the community, we knew it was the perfect place. The apartments are beautifully designed, spacious, and equipped with everything needed to feel comfortable and at home. The amenities are outstanding—there’s always something to do, whether it’s fitness classes, social events, or just relaxing in the lovely common areas. The dining options are fantastic, offering delicious and healthy meals that feel like dining at a fine restaurant. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always available to help if needed, which provides a wonderful sense of security. My loved one has made so many new friends and enjoys the vibrant, active lifestyle The Woodlake offers. If you’re looking for a welcoming and enriching independent living community, The Woodlake is the place to be!

They are great people. Our mama is in memory care so she is more care than assisted living..it is very costly but we are older now too. We would absolutely recommend this community to other families. Ease of mind, care that includes the whole family

The staff is very attentive, friendly and patient. They have multiple activities each day for participating and there are some tailored to the different level of ability. They bring in outside guest for things like music therapy and animal support. They get 3 well prepared meals and multiple snack throughout the day. The staff goes over and beyond to know each resident and their family. The cost for care is reasonable and in line with the care they provide. They also have programs for care that are reasonable and just help make life easier for the resident and family members. They have an in house support group that meets for caregivers as well. Overall I would recommend this lovely group.

Everything fell into place

My main contact at The Woodlake was a tremendous help and support even before I was truly interested in this property. When I contacted her a 2nd time to pursue this choice she bent over backwards to assist. My daughter and I moved my sister and her husband into The Woodlake last week. And everyone, staff and residents alike were kind, friendly and interesting. We enjoyed visiting with the residents and had a hard time pulling ourselves away to return to our home. The food is very good. The interior of the building is beautiful and full of sunlight. And there are numerous activities to pique the interest of the residents. But back to the staff. They were awesome. So helpful and gracious. Cant thank them enough.

A great facility with excellent caregivers.

As far as my evaluation of The Laurel, she received excellent care and I would recommend their memory care facility. The staff members are well trained and they care deeply for their patients. They went above and beyond to care for [name removed]. Near the end, the staff worked in tandem with hospice care to keep [name removed] comfortable and reassure my family during a very difficult time.

Very Impressed

It's been a few years since I had toured the community, but since my last tour I am very impressed with the new Management team and department heads of the community. Several different layouts to select from for your loved one with two beautiful courtyards residents have access to anytime. I am very impressed with the recent changes and am excited to recommend The Rawlin at Riverbend Memory Care to Family and Friends in need of senior living.

Loving the Laurel

I love everything about The Laurel at Vernon Hills IL. The staff is the best. My mother had wonderful care there. I loved the first phone call with Carol. She was so efficient, caring, down to earth and accommodating. When I first met with her, my heart melted when she told me my mom would be loved there. So true. I loved that whenever I visited her, she would say how lucky she was to live there because everyone was so nice. And we have [name removed] , Executive Director, to thank for hiring only the best people. I am grateful for all of the caregivers and everything that the staff did for her up until her final moments.

Responsible and friendly staff

The Rawlin at Riverbend Memory care provides a lot of daily activities for residents. The staff contacts family to report out-of-the-norm behavior of the resident. THE WOODLAKE is a great place for Mom!

I’ve been living at THE WOODLAKE for a little over three years. Time has flown! It took a little adjusting, getting used to not being on my own. I have found that I can spend as much time by myself as I want or I can be as social as I want. Everyone finds the friends they wanna hang out with. It’s like living in a very spacious house that is always clean and smells good! Not having to buy groceries is a plus. And so is having meals that are very good and nutritious that are prepared by someone else! We have a great Activities Director Who keeps us on our toes. Everyone is friendly and helpful.

A Festive Mother's Day Celebration at The Woodlake

The Woodlake celebrated Mother's Day early with a festive brunch on Thursday. A bounteous buffet of entrées and desserts to please everyone’s taste, served in a dining room especially decorated for the day. Great food, Good neighborly conversations. A lovely and thoughtful prelude to Mother’s Day. Chef [name removed] and the staff outdid themselves. It was indeed a most enjoyable event.

A Great Place To Be

As an employee of The Woodlake, I enjoy coming to work everyday. Although the building is beautiful, what makes it special are the people. To see so many happy residants is amazing. As i write this their is a Mothers Day brunch happening. To hear the joy and laughter from my office inspires me. Transitioning a loved one into a different environment can be difficult on you and the loved one.

It can be very difficult to transition from living at home to assisted living. The Staff at The Woodlake were extremely helpful and understanding. They helped make our Dad's move from independent living to assisted care. The Woodlake has a family-oriented atmosphere with a real sense of community. My father was very excited about moving in after we first toured the property. He couldn't wait to meet new friends and engage in activities! It was a great experience from start to finish. We would definitely refer friends and family to this new home! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We feel very comfortable leaving our Dad in their care. :)

I moved my mother in about a month ago, and although the building and staff were very nice, I was still skeptical after terrible experiences with my dad at another community.
