Simply the best!

I would like to thank the wonderful team at Battle Creek memory care of south Salem for always going above and beyond when it came to my fathers care. My dad had a dementia diagnosis and when he was in his own home, he spent so much time just sitting around confused, angry, and was no longer caring for himself. After only 4 days with Battle Creek of Salem, he had a smile on his face and had already made several friends that he was so excited to tell us about. I had not seen this side of my dad for a really long time and I am forever thankful for the beautiful memories I now have of him in his last months. Also, during such a hard time this last year with covid, I was unable to be at my dads side due to covid restrictions, but with the caring staff updating me and allowing myself and my family to FaceTime with dad, we got to feel as though we were there with him and it made us all feel so good to always see his beautiful big smile. I would like to acknowledge and give a special thank you to the executive director of this amazing memory care, Todd Whitehead, for putting together such an amazing team of employees, for providing such a caring place with such a high service of care and for truly supporting a higher quality of life. You are certainly by far the best memory care and best staff from the front desk employees, to the healthcare team, to the care staff, to the kitchen staff, and all of management you are all amazing!! Thank you very much from myself and my entire family for caring for my dad and treating him with the utmost love and respect.

SPRINGS OF VERNON HILLS - EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL

My sister was transferred to the Springs of Vernon Hills in [date removed], and from the very beginning , the staff, nurses, and administrators all greeted her with open arms, and with an extremely caring attitude. From the initial consultation, where we were educated and explained all of the protocols, to the day to day service and attention, my sister was treated with the utmost respect and compassion. Everyone we encountered, including the maintenance was approachable and happy to assist in any of our needs . On top of that, the food and amenities were outstanding ! I would highly recommend this facility !

My review of Battle Creek Memory Care

I would tell others that the layout of the "neighborhoods" is an ideal arrangement for memory care residents. They have groups of about 20 residents that have common spaces. It facilitates intimacy, good staff control and observation, and allows a socialization that I think does not exist in other apartment like facilities. They have spaces that allow 2 residents to be together in a same room, so for a husband and wife it is like a mini apartment. From a health care standpoint they have excellent nursing and staff care who are very engaged in the residents and their well being.

Springs is the place

My wife stayed here for 9 months. During that time, I marveled at the quality of care that she received. First, the facility itself: It is clean, well-lit, wide hallways, comfortable rooms, well-maintained, and the food is good. There are places in the building where we could go for privacy, play music on their many DVD players, and sometimes merely watch the passing parade of people and vehicles. The enclosed garden was a welcome oasis of calm in the warm months. Most important: the staff. They were caring, well-versed in handling the difficulties of those with memory issues, informative, welcoming, and going above and beyond. It was quite a relief knowing that she was in good hands. I would recommend Springs of Vernon Hills for a loved one of yours that is dealing with dementia.

Very pleased with The Springs!

After visiting many facilities in the area, the Springs was by far our best option for a safe, loving, and engaging facility for our mom. The Springs is designed with memory care residents in mind and is very comfortable and home like. The wonderful staff is caring, friendly, and skilled. Management takes the necessary time and effort to understand each resident's unique needs, preferences, and personality. Planned activities are varied, appropriate , fun and available for residents who choose to participate. I have been very impressed with the safety measures the Springs has put into place during the Covid outbreak. Through it all I know they are doing everything they can to keep the residents safe and healthy.

The Springs of Vernon Hills is a wonderful, kind place.

The Springs of Vernon Hills is a wonderful, welcoming place. As a Caregiver to my brother, [name removed], when he suddenly needed the care of a Memory Care facility, I needed to find a kind, COVID free place. When [name removed] called me, I knew I had found that in The Springs. [name removed] was going to love [name removed] like her own brother. I was not going to be able to go in, because of COVID, so I had to trust. [names removed] and the full staff at the Springs, have proven to be deserving of my Trust. Before [name removed] arrived, [name removed] asked how they could comfort [name removed]. I told her humor, kindness, and dance with him. [name removed] has a great sense of humor, and loves to dance. My husband [name removed] brought [name removed]to the door, and then had to back away. [name removed] came out the door dancing, and [name removed] laughed and walked up to her. They danced their way in. Great Community Made My Mom's Move Easier Than I Expected

Very clean, I have witnessed not just the housekeeping but other staff members cleaning. The staff is always very friendly. They call me and keep me updated about everything. I toured three times when I was looking at places and they were great every time. My mom seems much happier at Waterhouse Ridge then she was at her previous community. My mom is getting her showers regularly which was not happening where she was before and this shows me she is really being well taken care of. My mom likes the activities, they were outside planting flowers last weekend when the weather was nice. I was only able to visit three time before it was closed to visitors and the staff has been great helping her to adjust.

My father has been at Waterhouse Ridge for two years. While there were some issues when we first engaged with Waterhouse, (specifically around food and communication) those issues have been resolved and they have given service way beyond anything we even expected when we moved him in. My father is not an easy customer. His demanding nature and attention to detail has not diminished with his memory loss. The management has undergone significant changes and with that change in leadership everything has improved. The food is unbelievable! I choose to schedule my visits around meal time just to enjoy the food with him! Communication is great and services from activities to maintaining the building have taken a huge leap forward. Most of all, I appreciate the love and attention that I witness all of the resident's getting from the staff. I know customer service is a struggle everywhere, but what ever they're doing to attract and keep the staff happy seems to be working at Waterhouse. I would fully recommend Waterhouse Ridge to anyone who is in need of this important service.

I really liked this facility. My only question is about cost as it’s a bit unclear what criteria would drive a resident to be at level 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 for the add-on fee. This facility is definitely high on my list for consideration.

Everything we hoped for in a care facility

Our mother has been at Vineyard for 14 months and she has thrived there. After 11 years since diagnosis her dementia has plateaued and there has been no noticeable decline in over a year. The staff is caring and as competent as possible given the low pay and high turnover in the industry. Management takes our concerns seriously and makes every effort to address them. The place is clean and odor free, the food is good and the care is very good. After taking care of our mother for four years at home, she has thrived and done very well at Vineyard. We are very happy with her placement there and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Reading the few negative reviews, they are not consistent with our experience at all.

I can't say enough good thins

I am very impressed with The Vineyard at Fountaingrove. The staff was very helpful from the beginning, showing us around to evaluate the various room possibilities, discussing possibilities for caring for my friend and helping me though the paperwork necessary for her entry to the facility. Once we selected a room, they were able to hold it for a maximum of 30 days which allowed us time to fulfill our paperwork obligations and arrange her move. Once there my friend experienced friendliness from both the staff and other members of the community. I was particularly impressed with the willingness of the staff to do whatever they could to assist. We never encountered anyone who would not provide the time and smiles needed to meet our needs. She was able to participate in many of the planned activities and enjoyed having meals in the dining room with the friends she made. In comparison to her previous placement the value was outstanding.

This is an excellent Memory Care facility. The staff is caring and treats each resident like family. Our biggest concern was our Mother transitioning to a new facility after spending 10 years in her facility that fazed out their memory care. Voralto made the transition flawless. We couldn't be happier that Mom is well cared for.
