Oaks Senior Living

We just moved my father-in-law in two weeks ago. I went for a visit and he was happy. He has cerebral palsy. He was in another assisted living, but they were not equipped to handle his handicap. Here is has a roll in shower, rails all around the bathroom and plenty of room for his large power wheelchair. He has a one bedroom and even the closet he can get his wheelchair in and there is still room for storage. The staff have been excellent and have allowed him time to do things on his own, which is very important to him. They show a lot of concern and have good ideas. All the other residents we have met and spoken to have been happy and very pleased. The residents are very good salespeople for this assisted living. It is the first and only place I have found for a very reasonable price that had what my father-in-law was looking for. Could not be more pleased.

My Mom is in the Horizons memory care section. She is 91 and unable to do most things for herself. The staff is excellent -- upbeat, patient, and knowledgeable. It is a relief to me to have her in such a great place.

My dad made the decision to move into an assisted living community. A Place for Mom assisted my sister, dad and myself in our search for the right home for dad. I started the search initially on my own and soon became very stressed. A Place for Mom did the research and recommended senior centers that were within our guidelines. We narrowed our search down to two senior centers but our final choice was Gracemont Assisted Living. I have never seen a senior living center that felt like home - Gracemont does. The staff are very compassionate and take an interest in every resident. The food is excellent and healthy. One of the more important things I like is the flexibility offered. Sometimes I take my dad home with me for an overnight stay. We can have meals together in the cafeteria. The center is clean and organized. There are calendars, schedules, etc to help the residents know about activities. They go on trips together. Gracemont feels like you're walking into your home.

Mr. Greeson was friendly and concerned about my mother's needs. My mother wanted a nice, new place near where I worked so I could see her regularly and The Oaks is just off the freeway. After she moved in, she found the other residents to be friendly and cooperative.

We moved my dad in The Oaks at Hampton the week it opened. The environment is very warm and homey. The food is excellent and the dining room is beautiful. The staff is wonderful. Everyone appears to love their job and is so pleasant and accommodating. It is a facility you don't mind going to visit your family member in because people know your name and care about you and your loved one. My dad's level of care is at the top of the scale, so he doesn't really get to appreciate the total facility, which is too bad because there is a lot to do. We researched several communities before choosing this one and feel this one best meets our current needs for my dad.

It was okay, it was more expensive than Gracemont. It was nice and I liked it, we met with the activities director guy. Nothing was really wrong with it, it wasn't as convinient to where we live.

There's some things that I'l like to see a little more of. Sometimes I've found her alone in a room and it would be nice if they had her towards the community area so she could interact with the other ladies as best she can. They're working on it and I understand that they're not a unrsing home so they don't provide the 24 hour care. The activities are fine, she really likes them, especially the music. The menu could use improvement, she's not happy with it but she's always been a fussy eater anyways. It's a two way street: 1. Yes, they do need to improve the menu and I've heard it from other people tto and 2. she is a picky eater. We liked it because it was new, we kind of liked the whole set up and we found out through our research that it was one of the first places in the state of Georgia to have the full memory care license.

The people of A place for Mom are truly GOD's angels on earth. They take you by the hand and guide and lead you every step of the way till you have found the perfect place for your loved one. I am so-o-o glad I made the call and you will be too.

The Oaks Pooler is working out very well for us. We chose them because they were more willing to work with us on pricing and plans than any of the other facilities. My family is very familiar with this facility as our mother was also a resident there for years. It is so clean and organized. The staff is very nice and my brother is doing very well there. I've already recommended it to another Friend for her father

We love The Oaks at Stockbridge. They have been taking very good care of my sister. The place is very clean. Her room stays pretty clean as well. The food is very good and they have great side options if you don't like what's on The menu. My sister is a handful and they do very well managing her and all her meds. Any complaint is very easily addressed. We are very comfortable talking to them about any concerns we have about anything. The staff is very cheerful and do everything they can to keep residents happy. They laugh and play around with them.

Good environment for families but communication between staff can be improved.

The staff has been so caring and conscientious, facility is clean and well maintained, activities coordinator does a great job to encourage participation in activities

I'd say we're still 4.5/5 across the board. We really like the staff and the facilities. The Community Relations Director - who is wonderful - just left due to a promotion offer, so we haven't seen who is replacing her yet.

Staff is good although they seem to have a bit of turnover in the food service help. Posted menus often change. Stephen's mom says she looks forward to having something that's on the menu then they serve something different with no notice. Otherwise we are extremely pleased with the facility. Rated as a four because we have had some bumps, but they are ironed out now.

There has been a turn over in administrative staff. My mother has been residing there since Sept 2025. We are now on our 3rd community relations person, 3 wellness nurse and 2nd executive director. I am pleased with the current administration. I have not seen a changeover of caregivers which is good. My mother seems to like them & they say they enjoy working with her. My mother has said that everyone has been kind to her. I appreciate the care and timeliness of informing me of concerns. The facility is clean and pleasant. I've had family and friends visit my mother and they have all commented on how clean and fresh smelling the facility is. They have commented on the decor and location of the facility. The meals are appetizing and well presented. I have joined my mother for special lunches/ dinners and the food has been delicious. My mother said she likes the food and her doctor is pleased that she has gained weight. We have continued with my mother's private PCP, dentist and ophthalmologist. We have switched over to the facility podiatrist. The activities on site and off site for residents have been appropriate. There are several activities occurring each day. My mother does not participate in many activities; however, staff and I are always encouraging her to participate. She has been doing more lately. There is an outdoor courtyard that she occasionally sits and socializes with others. I like that the facility has on-site PT, OT and SLP. My mother has received all 3 therapies. I am pleased with my choice of the Oaks at Grove Park. Initially my mother did not want to be there as she felt she could live at home. She has gradually accepted that her memory issues and fall risk prevent her living independently or with me at home. I made the best decision for her living arrangements and have no regrets. She is in a studio apartment which is the perfect size for her in terms ambulating with a rollator walker.

The Memory Care area feels like it is crowded w/ many many residents & seems to have a wide range of care needs & abilities & dependencies for daily functions. To serve this many residents & to be able to meet all their constant individual needs, I’d like to see more caregivers serving in each shift.

Definitely responsive when I've contacted them with questions or concerns. Everyone's helpful, but there does seem to be a lot of turnover. Seems I talk to a different person each time. My mom's room is a great size. Her window has a lovely view of trees and sky. Her bathroom works well for us. I help her shower and there's plenty of room. My mom does not socialize or participate in any activities, doesn't even go down for meals. So I can't comment on that. But she really enjoys the meals and has actually put on some weight. Her caregivers are wonderful, especially the two young men who take care of her during the day. Overall, both mom and I are very pleased with her care at the Oaks

Very impressive facility. Was given a tour of the entire facility. Facilities were clean. Was told whet some of our options were. Was surprised it was cheaper than some of the other facilities.

They are friendly and very attentive to each individual persons needs.

There is a new executive director. Since he came, the communication has been 100% better, and just the overall day-to-day seems to have greatly improved. It seems to be better staffed than it was previously. they also now have a weekend management person which is a huge improvement because they never had one previously.
