Oakmont Senior Communities

I believe that this facility would be a great place to live if your family member is not on any diet restrictions, such as low salt, and are not fussy about the quality of their meals. The entrance, halls, gathering areas and dining room are kept clean. The cleaning of the residents rooms is good and the staff are mostly friendly. There are many activities offered and a nice covered patio with comfortable furniture for residents to lounge and enjoy the fresh air outside. Assisted Living services are offered for an additional fee, but my family member has not needed to use them, so I cannot comment on the quality. The move in process was easy. We picked this facility because it is close to my home. There were other acceptable facilities available with a lower monthly rate, but they were too far from my home. The monthly cost of this facility is over $[removed], which does not include cable or television services.

My loved one is currently a resident at Oakmont Livonia. The management staff is great, but the food, cleaning, and laundry services are okay. They are all pleasant, but my loved one is somewhat disappointed with the services. The food is pretty good, but it's not hot when it gets to my loved one. We've had issues with the thoroughness of the housekeeping and also with the laundry service. Although everything is not perfect, my loved one is happy overall and I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

My only issue is medical transportation is only available three days a week so I have to schedule medical appointments around those days. The activities are wonderful. Kroger every Wednesday. Meijer, Target, Walmart, Gabe's, Kohl's once a month. Exercise classes four times a week. Movies in the theater twice a week. Pinochle, Euchre, bingo several times a week. Casino trips once a month. Happy hour with entertainment once a week. Also went to the Detroit Zoo last Wednesday. Last year we went to Belle Isle for the day and also Eastern Market. Also have lunch and dinner outings once a month. Also other kinds of games. Lots of things to do.

We picked this community, because it was closest to my sister-in-law. My loved one is extremely happy here. They have friendly staff. I would absolutely recommend to other families.

Our family had an in person tour with Oakmont Northville and this was a really nice facility. The only "knock" is that the rooms did not have a full kitchen....just a kitchenette. However my Dad never uses his kitchen, he easts all his meals in the dining room which this had surprised us

This community was outdated and overall not the right fit.

It's more of a Senior community. The care services is outsourced, and I wish the care services were better. My loved one has a nice room, closer to the dining area and has a nice view. The activities is on the first floor. They have a doctor on site, hair salon, and a podiatrist that visits the facilty. For other families looking into Oakmont, it is important to focus on the medical need of your loved one, and understand the difference between a senior community and assisted living community. They have nice wood floors, a library, front patio area, and it is an environment that feels like home.

we toured Oakmont and we liked it. we had two loved ones needing an apartment, and Oakmont only had units with one bathroom, and they preferred two - for separate uses. we chose another community because they had a better screening process for visitors, and they met our bathroom needs.

Our family had an in person tour experience and we were able to see the rooms. The room our loved one was going to move into wasn't bad, but the way the furnace and AC unit was set up it took up ore space and square footage. However we did like the layout of the community and the food, it was served more restaurant style.

Beautiful place, very friendly staff and residents all very welcoming. Beautiful comfortable common areas. Their events calendar is fabulous. Beautiful peaceful chapel, feels like a church. This place has a good vibe.

Beautiful place Bathroom small. No bench to sit in in shower. Shower door doesn’t make shower very accessible. Disappointed that no patios on the rooms. Very clean and well kept

[name removed] was a pleasure to work with. The place is beautiful. There is nothing lacking at this facility (would have liked a stove in the Kitchen). Very clean, well laid out. Looks like a great place to live. The only thing is we were looking for a more "open" floor plan. Did not want a divided Kitchen/Living wall.

This was a nice facility and we really liked it, until we saw the rooms. I thought the rooms were too small for my Parent’s. It was a very nice facility and I would definitely recommend it. The staff is nice, accommodating, and friendly. I really like that they did follow up calls with us to see where we were at.

This is a nice community that we were able to tour. The staff was nice and the community was nice. We did not want a community on the second level. They informed us that he would not be included in the activities unless a family member was available to take him to participate with the other residents. We would suggest that family consider a tour for this community.

they were very helpful when touring. Facility is beautiful and very well kept. They could offer new residents a little more assistance getting settled in e.g. assign a "buddy" to remind them of meals and activities.

We toured this community when we were looking into senior care options for our loved one. This was a very nice looking community! The facility itself was clean and well kept, and the staff all seemed very friendly. We ended up selecting another community, but this one is definitely worth a look!

Price includes 3 meals a day, housekeeping, laundry, daily check. Will be checked on if not in DR for meals. Ala cart services by In Home Health Care; meds, help w/shower, etc. extra charge.

Very nice, but did not feel welcome.
