Oakmont Senior Communities

Really like Oakmont - one of my top 3. The surroundings are lovely - park-like. All the apartments are newly remodeled. They talked about tiger games, happy hour, playing cards and church! Director was very nice!

We had a great tour experience with Oakmont Livonia. It was fine but my loved one is a flight risk and needs more care so it just overall was not going to be the right fit for him and what we needed at the time.

This is a friendly, clean and inviting community. The staff and the residents have great attitudes and we have already recommended this community to others. They have activities like bingo, bowling, religious activities , discussion and more for the residents to do.

It is very nice. My mother is pleased with her apartment. Turns out we have 3 friends whose parents live here. The added bonus is Oakmont Sterling is 1/2 mile from my house.

Finding out that mom is not very outgoing and stays in her room to much. Would like to see someone get her out of her room and play pinochle where she is very competitive. She went down one time and they sat her at a table where the ladies just argued about the rules, mom excused herself and went back to her room. Where she lived in Northville a couple with an 11 year old daughter who plays piano. Would like to see if she could come in and play in the evening or on a weekend. The young girl, [name removed] is all in on the idea and would love to play. Everything else has been great with the care givers being very nice and extremely helpful and friendly. This has been a big adjustment for my mom after being on her own for so long but everything has been great. [Name removed] [removed]

We found Oakmont Manor in Sterling Heights to be a wonderful place for our mom to live. There is always some one there if needed rather it be the friendly staff or another resident. With the monthly schedule there is always something to do. Oakmont is like its own little town within the building. We love it inside and out.

It seemed to be the best community for our situation and really just the best fit. My loved ones like it and enjoy being here. I really liked the openness of the community and all the open common areas. Just seems like there is enough room for the residents to move around with our feeling cramped.

The facility is very clean, staff is pleasant and well organized activities

In retrospect, it was probably not the best place for my sister at that time. She was only there two months, then moved to an assisted living which was a much better fit for her situation. Oakmont is a fine facility, if the person is able to do "independent living". Even though "assistance" is an option, I don't think it's the best place for that... (but that also depends on the type of assistance needed.)

This is a safe clean friendly location that I would definitely recommend to others.

We thought that she could live there for life. If extra care was needed WE had to hire the care to come in. I feel like they misled us on this. They are not set up with different sections for different care levels. We have now moved mom to a place with all care levels.

My loved one is currently a resident at Oakmont Sterling and everything has been great for her there so far. It is a great place and has been a great experience. Nothing is perfect, however, everything has been great across the board. The cleanliness and friendliness are great. The staff and value for cost are also great. I would recommend Oakmont Sterling to others.

I would recommend Oakmont Livonia to others, but there are areas of opportunity as is likely the case with most places. The move in process was simple and quick. The food is okay, but nothing to write home about. The staff is good for the most part, but the waitstaff sees a fair amount of turnover.

Good atmosphere- nice residents and staff.

I believe that this facility would be a great place to live if your family member is not on any diet restrictions, such as low salt, and are not fussy about the quality of their meals. The entrance, halls, gathering areas and dining room are kept clean. The cleaning of the residents rooms is good and the staff are mostly friendly. There are many activities offered and a nice covered patio with comfortable furniture for residents to lounge and enjoy the fresh air outside. Assisted Living services are offered for an additional fee, but my family member has not needed to use them, so I cannot comment on the quality. The move in process was easy. We picked this facility because it is close to my home. There were other acceptable facilities available with a lower monthly rate, but they were too far from my home. The monthly cost of this facility is over $[removed], which does not include cable or television services.

My loved one is currently a resident at Oakmont Livonia. The management staff is great, but the food, cleaning, and laundry services are okay. They are all pleasant, but my loved one is somewhat disappointed with the services. The food is pretty good, but it's not hot when it gets to my loved one. We've had issues with the thoroughness of the housekeeping and also with the laundry service. Although everything is not perfect, my loved one is happy overall and I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

My only issue is medical transportation is only available three days a week so I have to schedule medical appointments around those days. The activities are wonderful. Kroger every Wednesday. Meijer, Target, Walmart, Gabe's, Kohl's once a month. Exercise classes four times a week. Movies in the theater twice a week. Pinochle, Euchre, bingo several times a week. Casino trips once a month. Happy hour with entertainment once a week. Also went to the Detroit Zoo last Wednesday. Last year we went to Belle Isle for the day and also Eastern Market. Also have lunch and dinner outings once a month. Also other kinds of games. Lots of things to do.

We picked this community, because it was closest to my sister-in-law. My loved one is extremely happy here. They have friendly staff. I would absolutely recommend to other families.

Our family had an in person tour with Oakmont Northville and this was a really nice facility. The only "knock" is that the rooms did not have a full kitchen....just a kitchenette. However my Dad never uses his kitchen, he easts all his meals in the dining room which this had surprised us

This community was outdated and overall not the right fit.
