It's clean and they make a huge effort to make it cheery with big greetings. It not luxurious or anything but overall they are head and shoulders above the place we chose, but we had to do that because of cost. He was here for a respite stay for about 5 weeks and he actually liked a lot of things about it but it was just more than we could afford for full time. It felt like he was noticed there. It was calm, more like an elderly holiday inn. It's different kind of depressing in some ways.

They were lovely. We chose another location mostly because it was closer to my mother, my aunts sister. It seemed a little large, like someone could get lost in the mix. It was nice and clean but the location was out main reason for choosing the other place.

Sunrise of Bonita was close to where my mother used to live. It was within our budget and had immediate availability. It is not a cookie cutter senior community, does not have the typical hospital setting to it and is really more home like. Although the furnishings are not antique they spent the time to make them look that way, which really shows how much they really are trying.

Visited on FRI 14JUN. VERY FRIENDLY. Room layouts are not what we are looking for. Setup as studio unit with no kitchen or room definitions.

They are short on staff. This is not a place I would recommend at the moment.

The person giving the tour was a salesperson in his mannerisms. He didn’t seemed concerned about our loved one. We had no contact with other staff.

Room is clean, but her diaper isn't change often enough. When visiting, she usually appears to be wearing a wet diaper. Food seems to be a lot of Mexican dishes for dinner.

On-boarding team was very responsive and caring. After on-boarding communication dropped off. The nurses were kind enough to update us when we went to visit if we saw them/ or if they were not busy tending to someone else. Otherwise the only updates we received was if mom fell. Nothing about her toe nails growing, her gaining significant weight her clothes not fitting well anymore. On several occasions family members discovered mom's bathroom was out of toilet paper. We had one incident we witnessed a senior staff (not care taker) speak to a resident in a manner that was very impatient and disheartening. My sense is they are understaffed and the care takers do their best to care for each resident as b best as possible. There are limited options in the neighborhood, and Ivy Park seems to still be better than the rest. I'd say Ivy Park presents itself as a premium facility but lacks the management to execute as such. My full respect and appreciation to the care takers.

Best part: the informative and pleasant sales director, [name removed]. Unfortunately, the population seemed very dependent and impaired with too few independent residents. The 2 bedroom apt we toured was well designed and would have met our needs. The food reminded me of cafeteria fare.

My mother in law has been there for about a month. The staff is so caring and they are really trying to get her involved in activities, of which there are many. The food is delicious and I no longer worry about her nutritional intake. The reason I gave them a 3 was because the business office is terrible. Constant problems with billing. They take days to respond to emails and never seem to be available to take calls. There is a lot of turn over in the office and that concerns me.

I pay $[removed] monthly with scheduled 8% annual increase. Assist executives try but the executive manager caters to corporate ignorances. In my opinion. (We have had 4 execs during the last year. Ivy has potential if corporate and local mgmt learn how to perform in Hawaii. (I have over 60 years in Hawaii. 12 of those years caring for my Alzheimer's wife. I am aware of senior care in Hawaii).

The cleanliness of the facility is a 5, but inside the apartment I would give it a 3. The administrative staffing -depends which person you're rating. The administrator, 5. Finance person, 1. Doesn't do what she says she will or return calls. 1. Food is a 4 but if you prefer to eat up in your room, they'll charge $15 to bring it to you. No charge if you pick the meal up yourself but 99% of the time, your order won't be correct in one, two or more ways. For instance, if you order salad, they often will forget to include the salad dressing. Value for the money - 3 or 4. The hallways are very long. No problem if you live close to dining rm/lobby, where they also have occasional events. But if not, it just may be too long a walk, and they don't loan out walkers or other walking tools, it will prevent you from participating. if a client has difficulty walking, they'll need a walker or even better, a mobility scooter, or care giver service who can come up, get them, and bring them back again. They have different levels of care there. If client is able to get a room near the lobby, which is more expensive, client will be able to get to dining room, mailboxes, events in lobby much easier. Depending on disability, may or may not need a walker. If client receives packages, Ivy staff will bring them to room. They have another facility in San Juan Capistrano which is a little less expensive, Nice clean place, also has some long halls, but the dining room is dismal, depressing. That's why I didn't move there initially

The rooms are great, and the fact that they have balconies is especially nice (1-bedroom). It is a very nice, pleasant place. I have had some frustrations with the administration. Mostly, they didn't orient us very well upon signing the contract/moving in. Also, we filled out a lot of forms, and I don't feel like they reviewed the forms to know what they needed to do. Most notably, my dad was not getting diabetic meals even though we clearly stated he has diabetes. I had to intervene, when I found out, and now he is getting appropriate food. To be fair, it does now have a new administrative staff.

They need new hallway carpet as it is very worn with some seams coming apart. Also need to touch up paint in hallways and common areas. Residents are very friendly so it's a good environment for new residents moving in.

While the facility was beautiful, the focus seemed to be on the assisted living side of the facility which wouldn’t be an option for my family member. Also, when I asked I was told the average age at Ivy Park was 85 years old. I appreciate all the insight we received but at this time it won’t work for us.

I would give four, but I had to really work hard to get better communication communications. Now everything seems to be pretty good. I especially like that they bringing position assistance into the facility. The head of the memory care facility is very good in emailing me in a timely manner

The 1 bedroom apartment was nice & I liked the kitchen, but the refrigerator did not have an ice maker and they did not even have a machine for ice and water in their Bistro. They had to go to their restaurant to get ice for my insulated water tumbler. The pool was beautiful. They don’t have cards or any games to play - I like to play Hand & Foot and would like to learn other card games like hearts, etc. they did not have a Rummikub game either. Their outdoor areas are sterile. They don’t provide transportation for medical purposes further than 10 miles. The restaurant is beautiful with white tablecloths and all day dining.

What we saw seemed clean, well organized, and friendly. My low score is because it turned out. They had no rooms available. That was the whole reason we came to tour.

Overall Ivy Park is nice with some great amenities. The facilities are quite nice and offer some nice events. While they do offer a solid facility and related services, it was not as great as they made it seem it would be. My father had his issues and was difficult to deal with at times, their description of what they offered and what they delivered didn’t match. I would recommend Ivy Park for anyone who does not need too much attention just some assistance.

Activities offered are not that great, restrictive and controlling, environment, nickel, and diming you to pay for every thing extra, so many extra costs food is mediocre, somewhat boring. Help staff is very nice and friendly. good environment for those more cognitively impaired because it small and easy to navigate.
