She is there and she is not happy there. I would rather not go into all the details at this time, but I will be speaking with them next week.

I guess she is doing better than she was at the other place. No one has really called me in 2 weeks. There are no follow up calls regarding my Aunt, but I am the one that got her in there. The hospice people need to get her on better supplements, but they will not listen to me. I know that supplements work because I am a nurse. I am meeting with some resistance when I call. I just want to be able to talk to the nurses to get her on a supplement that will help her. I did speak to the business office today, so hopefully we can get some results.

They could improve on the seating for the dining room. There is a distinct division among the residents, and those that have been there longest sit in the same seat, so it is hard to introduce new people and welcome them.

I did not feel like I got full disclosure of the whole move-in process, I did not feel like I got a very good orientation with Fullerton Gardens. I felt like I was told some things that weren't fully disclosed.

The nursing staff and all those people are really very great. I do have some issues with the administration however as they have a tendency to make promises that they don't keep. That is one area for improvement. Another would be to make sure that the residents are able to make it to all the activities. Overall it is a pretty nice place. The food is pretty decent also.

I did not like the apartments. They did not build the apartments to what would be necessary for her care. It was very, very expensive. I couldn't even get a price for the care that she would need. Unfortunately, it was not what I felt was appropriate.

I really like the people there at Sunrise of Seal Beach a lot, but there have been some communication issues with the sales and marketing staff. I feel that there were some misrepresentations made about the cost that we would expect. We were doing this with limited finances and with help from insurance, and the sort of help we were able to get was not accurately portrayed to us. Fortunately, when I voiced these concerns they resolved it, but I told them I would not speak with the marketing director again as I felt that she was not forthright and less than honest.

I like the people; they are very friendly. It is quite attractive. It is smaller than other places we've seen. This means there are less activities and business, which is better for my dad. The location works well because it is fifteen minutes from my front door. My father appears clean. They remind him when meals are being served. His place looks cared for and clean. The common areas are very neat and clean. I would recommend the place, though it hasn't been long enough yet for me to feel that I can completely evaluate it.

I like Casa Sandoval ok. The caregivers are very nice. Staff is friendly, and facility is pretty clean for the most part. My mom is on the second floor, and it could smell a little fresher in my option. Also the elevators could be a little cleaner and smell fresher as well. The food is really good though.

Nice facility. Outdoor patio was a little smaller than I was looking for. They have a park for the residents to walk in across the parking lot. Problem is, someone always has to go with them because it is not secure and they can't go on their own.

The place was small compared to other institutions, no outside grounds for folks to walk or swim. The lunch menu was limited but the vegetables were fresh. There were no activities in progress to witness. They charge by the service individually and do not provide furnished respite units. Their staff is trained through 'Sunrise University' for 40 hours. It's questionable whether there are certified staff on board. Underground parking was very limited. Lastly, they are closer to Pacific Beach than La Jolla.

You know how everything is an extra charge for care in a lot of these places? They seemed to have a lot of that on top of the extra stuff my mom was going to need. By the time I was all done with it, the place I chose was a little more expensive but it was all inclusive so I didn't feel like I was being nickeled and dimed. Sunrise was a very nice community.

It was clean but I did not like that most of the residents leave their doors open and the TVs are very loud. Very Distracting!!!

This situation really didn't end up working out for my loved one. They are very clean, and some of the staff are very nice - some are not so nice. However, my loved one ended up not getting the care they needed. They charge for everything here, and are not good at returning phone calls. The food is excellent and the area is nice, but things did not work out here.

My parents stayed here two months, just out of their home. We were very impressed with the beautiful building and grounds, the cleanliness, and the spaciousness of the one bedroom apartment. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The problem we had was with their operational model. They have all the caregivers multitasking. They not only personally care for residents, but they do housekeeping, serve meals, do activities, and work the front desk. They often seemed to be short-staffed and there was a lot of turnover in caregivers. It is a pricey community with a difficult bill to read and understand. It's hard to blame the staff; I believe they were all doing their best under the circumstances. My parents are now in another facility and see a positive difference; more organized, better food and more quality activities.

Beautiful decor. Very noisy lobby with high ceiling & tile floors. Activity areas too small. Theatre great. Studios very small - look like a hotel room. Pricey!

This place was way too small and the atmosphere didn't feel as busy. My father had dementia but he is still ambulatory and this building was too small and had a sleepier atmosphere.

Vintage is a lovely place, great food and nice caregivers. But, I put my husband in dementia floor, "Recollections". Sales team told me he be looked in on every 15 min at night as he gets up a lot and has balance and hallucination problems. This didn't happen--2 people can't watch 22 residents and check that often. Also, they said he would have a mat by his bed to inform them if he got up--that didn't happen. They were not always doing the activity on the schedule--the stimulation we wanted him to have. While it's a nice environment, I realized that my husband needs more one on one care than they could provide. It just wasn't a match for him. We moved him home after one month. They were more than fair with the moving-out settlement and they were improving on some of my complaints.
