Beautiful grounds inside and out. Rooms very nice, clean and spacious. It was hard to gauge how my mother feels about a place since she likes every place she last sees the best. It is a little over expensive (the cheapest rooms--the studios--are too small to fit my Mom's desired furniture), and medication management costs are based on the number of medications (up to 6 at one price, $15 a day more for 7+). Transportation for medical appointments in presently only on one day a week at a set time, and only within a 10 mile radius.

This was my second favorite. The only thing that would cause me pause is the fact that it is located in Salinas. I'm not sure about the safety of Salinas and the attractiveness/feel of the area. The community itself is very nice and I had a very comfortable feeling about the community and the units themselves. Additionally, I think there were good options for apartments with nice views. I thought the newly renovated dining room and some common areas were very attactive. The other common areas are a bit dated, but the individual units themselves had a very good feeling about them. I liked the idea of more choices for meals and restaurant style dinning.

Both these facilities back onto a nature preserve, deer roam the grounds outside the fencing. Limited patio area. 1 bedroom was the most spacious I've seen so far, and a huge plus was bathroom door from Living room, another door from bedroom. Upshot here, when one is resting, one doesn't have to go thru bedroom to get to the bathroom -- hurray.

This facility is the closest to what my mother currently has in Arizona. The appartments are a bit smaller, but are similar in set-up to what she currently has and the meals although a bit more limiting are still adequate. Overall tihs facility is the closest to what my mother currently has and since she still has memory and thought factulties that allow her to still understand her surroungsings and living conditions most of the time it would be the easiest for her to accept. Overall compared to what she has today this is more of a 4.2 to 4.5 rated facility.
