Lakeside Park was at the top of our list after visiting several other memory care communities in the East Bay. We had to make the choice sooner than anticipated when Mom had a medical emergency and had to be moved from the hospital to a community. Fortunately, LSP had a vacancy; they and the hospital facilitated the paperwork and the move to a shared room, even loaning us furniture until we could purchase some. LSP impressed us because of the cleanliness of the facility--bottom to top, the genuine care and passion demonstrated by the staff toward the residents, the broad array of programs to keep the residents mentally and physically stimulated, and, last but not least, the fine dining, home-style experience. Mom is acclimating well, making new friends, participating in activities and basking in the attention. We always feel welcome and are so grateful that our loved one is receiving 24/7 skilled care from professionals who are called to do this very special work.

It's definitely pricey, but it's good care, and you get what you pay for! We chose this place because it's in a good location and close by. The staff are all super friendly! They are always giving hugs and they really put the residents first! Every single staff member is great and they are all just awesome!!

Very nice place to live

This community was very nice and good. They were professional but they didn't have memory care and that was probably the separating point on it. Other than that everything seemed good.

There comes a time in every family when a loved one is no longer able to live on their own. At that point choices must be made and they are not easy. We reached this decision point early in 2013. As we began to look for a facility we made a list. It had to offer assistance when needed but be freedom oriented. It had to be affordable and centrally located. We wanted a caring staff of professionals. And, it had to offer an atmosphere that closely replicated “home.” Armed with these requirements we began our search. There are many independent and assisted living facilities in Las Vegas. And some met most of our needs. But, one stood out. Way out. We actually visited Atria on our second stop and it became “the one to beat.” We did continue our search but no other facility topped Atria. Not one. Needless to say we selected Atria as our loved one’s new home. We have never regretted our choice. This modern, clean facility is just a joy! The staff is amazingly friendly and seems to know every resident by name. The individual apartments are roomy and clean. Even the food is good! We’re all living longer. And, you stand a very good chance of facing a similar choice. Do your research. Investigate. Thoroughly examine the pros and cons. And, make the best decision for your loved one. But, please put Atria on your list. I think you’ll be as happy as we are that you did.

I really like them but their studio was a little too small for my mom. I thought they had the cutest décor. It was very warm and they had a little breakfast bar thing with food and coffee that was open all day. When the residents were down in the activities are they could go and grab anything they wanted. The whole place was really really quaint. I really liked it but it was on a busy street and way to far from my mom's doctors.

We are very p;eased with our home at Villa San Ramon!!! We have A NICE 2 BEDROOM APT,in a beautiful building surrounded by hills creeks etc but also a nice neighborhood and all facilities for shopping etc. There seem to be many planned activities but we are still busy moving in here and out of our home in Danville.However we feel at home here.

As a current resident, what I like most about Las Palmas is the entire facility, the ambiance of the facility, the staff, the service that they provide, the grounds in which they're located and the resources they provide including enclosed patio with pool. It's much like a garden apartment complex. The dining area is very comfortable. The architecture there is very welcoming. It's a little bit like a theme restaurant and the food so far in the several weeks we've been here has been excellent. Breakfast, lunch and dinner have been more than quite satisfactory. The only thing that's missing is a bottle of wine with dinne

It was a hard decision to place Mom in the next level of care --Memory Care. I visited several places and decided on Montecito. They were very informative and answered all my questions and concerns. I dropped in/out several different times to see how they handled their people. I was very pleased to see how they took pride in caring for each of their special needs. They always have time to be their for them. When my mother wants to go out and take a walk someone takes her out for a walk. I sleep better at night knowing Mom is in a SAFE environment and somebody is watching out for her. Mom must be happy as she doesn't call me as often.

It was nice but my mother would have had to share a room and I didn't like that. It was clean and the people were very friendly. The shared room was the only thing I didn't like.

It was very nice. It was definitely a newer facility but it was a bit more than my mother could afford at the time and more than my brother and I could afford either.

Sunrise was okay. I didn't get as comfortable of a feeling from the interation I had in my initial conversation with them. You know how everything is an extra charge for care in a lot of these places? They seemed to have a lot of that on top of the extra stuff my mom was going to need. By the time I was all done with it, the place I chose was a little more expensive but it was all inclusive so I didn't feel like I was being nickeled and dimed. Sunrise was a very nice community. If my mother was at an earlier point in her life I may have considered it. It just wasn't what I was looking for.

They are a little expensive. They have a lot to offer. We looked at a couple of different places and they were by far the best. They just offer so many onsite activities and a van for transportation if needed. We are very pleased with them and would recommend them to anyone.

My aunt has lived at Sunrise of Bonita for 3 months. Her caregiver has been nothing but helpful, and it has been the same one. The nurses keep track of her medication and constantly update me on any changes. I feel like part of the family when I walk in the front desk always greets me by my first name. I am happy I put my aunt here. She seems to be doing so much better with the activities and the social interaction among people her age. It was a hard decision to make but they helped me every step of the way from all the paperwork to scheduling movers and even having nestle toll house cookies the day of move in because those were my aunts favorite cookies. As soon as I walked in it just felt right. I am glad I chose this community.

I really liked the bright and light, spacious apartments at Las Palmas. The dining here is excellent. The staff's kindness during the process of choosing a place for my loved one was extraordinary. There have just some inconsistencies in what I was told about transportation and activities. I was told that they had excellent transportation, but I have not seen it yet, and some residents seem bored or lonely due to the lack of daily activities. I hope to see more staff and resident interactions and activities in the future when I visit my loved one.

We chose this location because our loved one wanted to be in the Seal Beach city limits. We looked at 2 other communities and they did not compare to Sunrise. The community is within the city limits so she has easy access for the senior transportation systems. It is close to the highway so it makes it easy and convenient for our family to visit. The community has lots of amenities and is really nice. Her doctors are nearby and easy accessible. We are very pleased with Sunrise and would recommend it to anyone.

I visited four of the ten communities recommended by a Place for Mom. Montecito Oakmont Senior Living was by far my favorite. This is a community that has retired, assisted and memory care available. My mother is in assisted living but it is comforting to know that if the need arrives she can get memory care with out going to another community. The presentation of this community is one of a resort hotel. It is beautiful inside and out. There is plenty of parking so when I visit or frinds visit there is someplace to park the car. There is a large yard courtyard park in surronded by the buildin wings. A pool and spa with bathrooms for convenience and for changing clothes at the pool. There are multiple activity rooms, a theatre, a library. Lots of activities, friendly staff, just lovely. I told my mom that Montecito Oakmont is were I would want to be.

Bradford Square was the perfect choice for out parents. The staff is warm, caring & professional. Our parents have adjusted well, which we were concerned about. We would highly recommend Bradford Square.

Residents in a memory care facility tend to be watched by keeping the residents in a local area rather than letting them go to their room for an afternoon nap. Families must understand that their loved ones have to be watched so they don't fall or do something that endangers them or others. So you will see residents in this type of facility, snoozing in a chair or wheelchair in the common areas where they can be seen. Ivy Terrace is liked by other families as well. They like the staff, as do I. And they work hard to make their residents feel loved, comfortable, and important.
