We looked at several places in San Diego area before choosing Summerfield as a new home for our mom. She has been here since August of 2023 and our family has been very pleased with her care. The facility is relatively small (approx 50 residents in 4 wings), secure, and I am not worried at all about Mom wandering out. The staff is very loving, caring, and attentive to mom's needs. I've also had the pleasure to dine with her and the food is always good! The facilities are clean and well maintained, and there is a lovely activities room and backyard/patio area. The decor changes with the seasons and has a very festive happy feel for both the residents and visitors. I can't say enough about how kind and caring the staff and management have been. As her condition has progressed we brought in hospice and they work together with Summerfield to ensure mom is well cared for. Mom has many visitors, and all comment on the pleasant atmosphere and attentiveness. The staff really cares.

Recently, my mom moved into Cypress Court – it is truly a top-notch property, and I give it A+’s all the way across the board! It is clean, organized, and has a resort-like feel all throughout the facility. The environment is beautiful, and Cypress offers the residents a variety of fun activities and special events…and the food is delicious! The staff are the most kind, genuine and compassionate people I have ever met, as well as being extremely professional, knowledgeable and incredibly service oriented. Employees go above and beyond to welcome everyone and see that residents and their family members are well taken care of. Cypress Court is such a wonderful place – the whole staff cares and have amazing hearts – and I appreciate everything that Cypress offers to make my mom feel welcome and comfortable. It is truly one of the best Independent and Assisted Living properties around the San Diego area!

Skilled, caring, professional, and compassionate is how I have found the staff at The Gardens. The facility is immaculate and up to date. Their approach of small neighborhoods within the facility really helps the clients feel at home. The staff and setting makes it easy to for clients to get acquainted with one another. My husband has several of the multiple issues typical of Parkinson’s and was being discharged from a skilled nursing facility. They have been very accommodating and have made the transition easy for him.

Staff were friendly and welcoming.. The facility is very clean, cheery, and helpful. I can envision my mother making friends socializing and doing activities. I would highly recommend referencing this community to family and friends.

Phenomenal place staff is warm and welcoming. The layout of the property is beautiful with lots of outdoor spaces. Very clean. We had the privilege of trying out there food. It presented well and was delicious. Definitely recommend!

Professional, friendly staff. Felt very comfortable while touring the community. Clean, pleasant atmosphere. Their attention to details of my father in law’s needs & likes was beyond any other places we’d looked at. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!!

Beautiful community & wonderful staff! Thru the difficult times when families must make decisions, we were treated with kindness, professionalism, and honesty. It made us feel comfortable in seeing and knowing that everything dad would be needing would be addressed in the best, caring manner. Also, the "little things" they do to be sure he feels at home make such a difference! Rooms are very clean, accommodating, comfortable. The choice to have him at The Gardens was a wise one! Nothing else we'd looked into compared to the peace of mind that they presented. Thank you for the opportunity to present our experience! Recommend highly!!

Love my apartment! Most residents are wonderful people, have made lots of nice friends. Food is great. I love that I'm surrounded with people that are fun and you can have conversations with them. I love that I no longer have to cook or clean. I still drive and am able to park my car in gated underground parking. Great place!

My husband checked the place out first, he called me and said I found our home. The people here are wonderful and it's doesn't feel institutional. He talked to several caregivers and residents, and found that they all had long history of living and working here and we felt that was important. Due to his rave reviews on Cypress Court, I told him not to worry about getting me over to Cypress Court, just sign us up. I trusted his opinion of this place. I have been here a year and a half, I am so glad I'm here and I wouldn't be doing well anywhere else. I've found a new family here with the staff and residents, and I wish I would have found Cypress Court sooner.

I enjoy having meals with my family member at Heritage Woods. The food is amazing! The staff is very friendly. The residents are smiling and seem very happy when I visit. I would recommend this community to anyone looking for a new place to call home.

I was very hesitant to move my loved one to a community. Summerfield of Encinitas gave us options of how to move forward. We started with their amazing Day Stay program. Did that for a few weeks to get my dad used to the people and staff. We considered respite to see how he liked staying over night but after much thought we as a family decided to just move forward with moving him in permanently. The staff are incredibly kind, compassionate, patient and loving. Alzheimer’s is such an ugly disease and it’s been so difficult for us as a family to see this change and want only the best for our dad. Summerfield of Encinitas provides excellent care, delicious and healthy food, fun activities everyday of the week, and they even do outings once a month! We couldn’t be happier with the choice we made. Thank you to the Executive Director, the Sales Director, Business Office, Nurse and staff at Summerfield of Encinitas for your excellence!!

My loved one was a resident at The Gardens of Modesto for a Respite stay. The cost is, of course, expensive but The Gardens of Modesto was more reasonable and the accommodations much nicer than the other places that we toured.

Amazing staff and beautiful facility! Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The tour was great and very informative. Would definitely recommend this facility to friends and loved ones for senior care.

The chef is always coming up with new ideas for my husbands diet. The staff is always available to help, a very friendly place. The activities staff comes up with engaging activities to help my husband stay busy.

I’m currently looking for a friendly and supportive environment for a family member and came across A place for Mom. My experience was above exceptional as all my questions and concerns were met by staff. It’s definitely an establishment I strongly consider and will share with friends and family. I moved my family member in to the community a few months ago. I chose The Gardens because of my first impression with the staff. They were kind and looked happy. They were interacting with the residents and making them feel like their own family. The building may be older but it is off set by how happy the staff are, how caring and kind they treat my family. Activities are great. Everyone is out and taking care of residents or helping in other areas, including the front office people. We love [name removed] at the desk, Hillary the marketing person and Michelle the executive director. Meals are wonderful and we enjoy coming in to have lunch with our family. Our favorite care staff is [names removed]. We would recommend.

They appear to have enough staffing. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The housekeeping is great. Their communication is great as well. The food is good. My father would complain if it wasn't. That's one of the main points of our conversations. The move-in process was smooth, though the rooms are small and paring down is key. This is a Memory Care facility that is dedicated to Memory Care and not just an afterthought or an addition to an Assisted Living facility. The facility is well thought out with many different areas that help to keep things fresh for the residents. There are many different common areas to mingle. I really don't see how any resident could be a shut in, as they would have to go to a common area for food. They have activities scheduled every single day and are good at making certain that the residents get the exercise they need. I would definitely recommend Summerfield to anyone looking for a Memory Care facility for their parents with dementia.

This community has a very warm and welcoming feel and it does not feel like a “huge facility.” The staff that works here cares each and every resident. They go beyond what is expected and returns a smile after every interactions. They do their best to accommodate everyone’s needs.

Great medical coverage and staff availability. Mom didn't engage in any activities so I really can't answer to that. I would definitely recommend them to others looking.
