Mustang Creek Estates

Staff is great! They are making changes for the better, there is a nurse on staff during the week. They really care about the residents. The housekeeping is ok, they are working on getting better. The meals are good. Moving in was amazing!, staff was so helpful. I would recommend Mustang Creek.

The staff at Mustang Creek Estates Allen is good, but needs to communicate better when residents first move in. For example: there needs to be a meeting to go over the individual's requirements, not just what the director has noted from speaking to the family. I would highly suggest the family document in detail and provide a copy to each employee. The housekeeping is good, but could improve with deep cleaning. The move in process is bad!! They only allow move in during week days. This makes it hard for everyone. The meals are good. I would suggest family members visit many times during the week to make sure the requirements needed for their love one are being taken care of.

[name removed] is hard to work with, they say she is available 24/7, the go to person, I realize she has to sleep but when you go to her about real issues, you can hear her frustration of the issue. The next thing that makes me mad is they say once a week the patients room gets a deep clean, that is total crap, I clean my loved ones room. The food is passable there are a couple girls that cook pretty good, but if they aren't on...The girls (2) have to care for, cook, do laundry, medicine distribution and care for 14 people. This is not a smooth running machine, it's like walking into a new collision every day. Luckily the girls are good to my loved one, but I will be looking else where.

My mom is not happy and she feels the place has mostly people who are in very diminished state. Basically, my mom tells me the food is terrible and many times she goes in kitchen and makes herself eggs. Apparently they are getting a new director soon though. I would tell others looking that this really is a p[lace for people who have limited abilities.

The day staff was great. The night staff can certainly improve on their professionalism. We picked this community, because it was the closest proximity to my house and affordable compared to others.

The community itself is clean but the house keeping could definitely be improved. Some of the staff members are nice and others are not so much. It seems like the staff members don't really pay as much attention to the residents as they should.

They need to do better with, cleaning the bathroom toilet, which was not cleaned for four days, and the odor was very bad. Retain your employees everytime ,I go visit it's someone new/different staff. I'm going to give them, one last chance to correct any issues.

We toured Mustang Creek Estates Burleson and the people there were nice, we liked them. Mustang Creek was a consideration for us, but I had a gut feeling that it wouldn't have been a good fit for my dad.

It's a good facility overall, but we are having an issue as far as turnover within their staff. I do think it's the hours and the pay. The lack of staff effects the meals, activities, level of care, etc.. There have been times when there's only been one in house, when they are supposed to have two for the estate. Also the availability of them not answering the phone for my loved ones building itself.

We had a nice meeting with a very nice woman who showed us around. We thought the place was just okay. But both my sibling and I were approached separately by two different ladies who were there visiting their respective family members. They told us quietly but very firmly do not let your person live here. One of them mentioned response time of over an hour when the call button is pushed. I took that with a grain of salt, to a certain extent. You never know if a resident is pushing the button constantly, etc. But their comments left us with a funny feeling, and there are plenty of other fish in the sea as far as communities go. So we decided to continue our search elsewhere.

We loved [name removed] and the Residents were SO friendly ... But I think we need a more activ community for my dad for right now. We so appreciate the tour and all her efforts!

The community is clean on the inside and the outside, the facility is wonderful and we can tell our loved ones demeanor has changed for the better. The staff really loves the patients and you can tell on their faces they do feel loved. They do get to take the residents out with their van to drive around, and will even go through a drive thru to get hot chocolate. However, there are some negatives, there is zero communication, which is concerning to us since our family is very hands on. We did speak with the nurse practitioner and she apologized. We just want more communication from them after they visit with our loved one. They also were ordering expensive medication for a couple months without our permission or understanding.

The spaces inside the community are immaculately clean, no fowl smells however our loved ones bathroom is not as clean as it should be. Some of the staff embers are great and some are not. The things that have gone really well is that they recently hired an activities director and she sends around questionnaires so that is really showing that the activities are improving. It has a homey feel to which is very positive. They also do their own cooking for all meals and the residents can watch. They are not allowing inside the kitchen area but they are allowed to watch, and the cost is less expensive. However, when we dropped there was only one staff members on duty which made the transition traumatic. We wish someone was there to welcome our loved one. Ever since then they have been understaffed which was resulted in resident conflict.

I had some issues with the director, The care was good but the upper management was not good. The communication was not good and they were hard to get responses from upper management. I would not recommend this community

They promised a lot of things and they did not follow through. I was told that there was a chef there is not a chef so I take her meals and snacks all the time. It is very hard to keep track of her items. Her items are missing and half the time she is in other peoples clothes when I see her. And on top of it they just raised the price. Overall, I would rethink it, we have not had the best experience.

The common areas were clean. The resident's rooms weren't as clean as other parts of the community, specifically the bathrooms were filthy. There was a major turnover of staff, and not enough staff for the residents in the house. The staff the community hired was under qualified for memory care residents.

The facility itself and the concept of the cottages is great, the staff was all very friendly and helpful and it did not seem institutional as some others that we saw. They did have a lot of staff turnover or were understaffed, so some of the things that needed to be done were not getting done as they should have. Overall, I would recommend Mustang Creek Estates as long as your loved one is more independent.

I would tell my friends, that if your parent is in a hospice situation, then I wouldn't recommend this community. I would suggest to stick with the a more clinical environment for hospice . I feel it was a dark situation. For the amount of money, they seemed to have a strict contract. I felt intimated by speaking up with the contract. I wanted to try to negate my contract with the community, and I didn't get the feeling they would be willing to assist me.
