I liked that it was a small setting, not a lot of people in one house and home cooked meals. Considerate, caring, attentive staff. Facility is good. Seems to be kept up fairly well.

Review for Mustang Creek Estates Sachse

I would tell others that I would never put another family member there. But would let them know how I walked in on the very first day with my mom's bed raised to the highest height and her safety rails were locked down. She fell out of her bed the very next morning after I called to alert them of the rails being down the night before. I had a meeting that day with the hospice and manager and she had assured it would never happen again. And she was supposed to have a mat that day. Never got it. It was a day later. The next night I came in she was in severe pain and had not been changed. She was sitting in urine and when I asked why? The night shift said the day shift did not change anyone and did not give her, her meds and when we looked at the logs for her medication. It had been 14 hours in pain and she was on a scheduled pain medication for every 6 hours. Disturbing in all areas of care. I believe her pain meds were being stolen bc simple talks with these people who worked there was like talking to a robot without any logic involved.

Would not recommend to a dog

I lived here for a few months.. place is understaffed. I don’t blame caretakers. They did their best with what they had. None were trained to give medication. Was dirty, ran out of food..choice of breakfast one morning was a piece of toast and jelly or grits. Once served A bagel, no cream cheese and half a sausage. Served oatmeal on a plate with scrambled eggs and canned peaches..No fresh veggies served. Too many noodle dishes and nothing else served.. No matching dinnerware, utensils or glasses. Given a serving spoon to eat with. Dishwasher leaked over a month, before it was fixed. No napkins for a week. Place mats never washed. Took mine and friends to room and washed and took back. I have pictures of everything. Suppose to get laundry twice a week. Was lucky if got once a week and then if I sat in hall and ask them to wash them. May get back next day, if lucky. Took trash out of my room after 4 days. Would finally set in hall. No bathmat at shower and has slippery tile. Much more.

Do not move your loved one here...unsanitary

I give them a 1 on everything! All of my mom's clothes, shoes, hangers, family photos are missing. They was all the residents clothes together then randomly put clothes in peoples rooms. Someone else was sleeping in my mother's bed when I came to visit. Her mattress was saturated in urine. Comforter and recliner covered in feces. Her medication was not given to her. The washing machine broke several times and they went almost 2 weeks with clothes and sheets not being washed. They should have had the clothes sent out to be cleaned or use the washing machine in the other building. I had to buy her all new clothes and shoes for her new place.

Zero stars if possible

The ED insulted my loved one on her first & only call to me. I could rarely get through to her. The staff dismantled his bed to change rooms 3 times the 1st week & he had nowhere to sleep for several days so I had to bring him home. They never had his medication in the system correctly which is very problematic for someone with a brain imbalance. I didn’t want to bring him back there but had little choice. They have no activities. They hire inexperienced caregivers who get frustrated & scream because they’ve not been trained. There were one or two seasoned caregivers out of the bunch. Until I wrote a letter to the Operations Director and sent her caregiving resources & a plan for implementing those resources, they had no caregiver meetings at all. I had to bring his gluten-free food in most days until I became worn down even though they said they could handle it, otherwise the food looked good. Placing my husband there further compromised his mental health & my physical health too.

Don’t do it

We had a terrible experience with mustang creek and moved our mom within a few weeks of her moving in. The staff wasn’t engaged, the facility wasn’t taken care of and they over drugged my mom - we think so they didn’t have to “deal” with her - resulting in 1 trip to the ER when we could not wake her.

Horrible

They did not take care of my husband. 3 broken ribs and After many conversations about what he didn't like to eat. They still did not feed him anything he would eat. He lost weight and spent a lot of time going to emergency from falling. I could go on and on. Bathroom was dirty every time I visited. Found urine on his clothes in the bottom of his closet. $ [removed]hearing aids stolen. Computer charger stolen. His daughter had to clean bathroom before she let her daughter use it. One of the staff [profanity removed] me out for not visiting more often when I was traveling to Houston MD Anderson for cancer treatment.

Lack of care, facility dirty, dispensing medication is poor. Laundry done poorly, facility guidelines not follow by staff

Overall experience, they were unable on most days to not only order but dispense my husbands meds. The food, looks, smell and taste was poor and the had times where they ran out of food. Quality of care was poor for a multitude of reason, staff spent most of their on personal conversations on their phones, when they could be checking on patience or picking up trash they were having little huddles in the kitchen all about personal issues. The Laundry was so poorly done, example they would retire it washed but they had put so many clothes in the washer, urine was still visible on the clothes, needless to say I did my husband laundry 95% of the time. I would arrive in the morning 9am-10:00am and my husband would be laying in a puddle of pee and he would tell me no one had changed him since the night before, he developed a sore. I remove my husband from there and moved him to Metro Plex Assisted Living they were amazing, great care, they really were very caring people. My husband passed on [date removed].

They were nice It just seemed understaffed One thing that did was leave their building at night and congregate at one house. Thought that was not safe. Room was never kept clean AC went out, burned out and no one noticed The food was minimal Came in once and he was laying on a mattress with no sheets and cold Flooring is a huge danger has lifted transition piece in hall that residents have to maneuver it It is where he fell

Horrible - BEWARE!

If this is the only place you can afford, then I understand choosing Mustang Creek. This was our situation with our mom. We moved her into Mustang Creek in November 2022, and within a month and a half, she was in the hospital having trouble breathing. She was on the verge of getting pneumonia. As we learned the world of assisted living we found a senior advisor that helped us understand that there are more options -- group homes, hospice palliative care, etc. Because my mom had a relationship with the director of Mustang Creek at the time, she reassured us that they would take care of my mom if she came back there from the hospital. Things started to turn around. However, after about two months this director was let go. Here is a list of our experiences - (food is horrible -- made by the caregivers, and my mom stopped eating, my mom required a Hoyer lift -- they would leave her in the shower chair for long periods of time -she had cuts and bruises- and her wheelchair.

Horrible place

The staff is always outside or entertaining their own children or family members. The patients have to wait for hours for anything they ask for or need. Our family member has fallen numerous times and laid on the floor for long periods of time. When any staff member is asked what happened, the reply is always they don't know, they weren't there, or they normally don't work in that building. The food is unfit, and if someone is unable to open a food rapper, they're told that it's too bad. The rooms are always dirty and if something is said to the staff, they swear that it's been cleaned. The laundry room is a total wreck and the patients are always wearing each other's clothes. There have been several items to come up missing from the rooms and never found. There have been times when we've called to check on our family member and there is no answer from the staff. When we try to complain to the lady in charge, she's rarely available or has a bad attitude. Don't put your loved one here.

Poor Management and Under-staffed

The facilities are nice, but there is a complete lack of effective management. Each building is generally staffed by one person, and sometimes two. They must do all of the laundry, resident care, and the daily cleaning. My mother was there for several months and after daily calls from the staff asking me to come help them, I moved her to [facility name removed] Memory Care. My mother was there from about [date removed] to [date removed] and they NEVER changed her bedding. They say they wash clothes every week, but they don't. When they do get around to getting clothes laundered, they lose a large number of items. Less than 10% of the activities they say the Memory Care residents are enjoying are actually done. The excuse is they can't take the memory care residents over to the other units. So they don't "really" provide the activities they promise. There is a nice backyard area that I was promised would be cleaned up and that the residents would be taken outside to enjoy it. That NEVER happened. Bad.

Stay far away

My loved one was previously a resident at Mustang Creek Estates Frisco. I would rate all categories at a zero, if I could. I, along with several other families, moved my loved one out of this facility. The laundry was ignored. The toilet was always filthy. They struggle with quality care givers. The good ones leave because of the conditions and too many hours. There was one Sunday morning that there were only two workers for all five houses! They continued to lie about staff and conditions, but the most outrageous thing was when they sent my mom to the hospital and I was never contacted! She had been in the ER for several hours before the hospital finally contacted me! Even by the next day no one said a word. When I talked to the director about it she was completely unaware that an ambulance had even been there, much less that my mom was even in the hospital.

Our family went to have an in person tour with Mustang Creek and I never made it past the front door. Walking in, the living, dining and kitchen areas were on top of each other - very cramped. It was loud and appeared unkept. I just told the greeter that I didn't want to waste her time, it wasn't a fit for my sister.

Tour experience at Mustang Creek Estates

Mustang Estates did not impress me at all. The setup seemed more like a hindrance than an asset. But the main reason we did not choose them was due to their marketing person. We could not leave there fast enough.

Would not recommend. Not as promised.

Our family did not have a good experience at Mustang Creek Estates. The place is struggling. My mom definitely did not get the care that we paid for The building is nice, and the people who work there are doing the best they can. But they are not cooks, and the meals are tasteless and bland. Meals tend to be carbohydrate heavy. Not a lot of vegetables. We had an incident where there was no one in the building as one of the clients left the building setting off the alarms. It took a little while for somebody to get there. The residents ended up pulling the fire tag because they believe they were in danger. The incident was not handled well and left the residents feeling unsafe.

Worst place ever

The lies ,the promises by the director are so bad and yet the owners believe in that she is doing a great job. In reality she needs a career change and never be allowed to be in any facility dealing with the elderly. The turn over in employees are about every two weeks, bad management. They have 5 houses approximate 15 residents in eac house , they leave the residents alone 30 minutes to one hour with no care givers in the house, most times the care givers are outside between breaks so therefore if your loved one falls or needs an employee they aren’t there, just hope they don’t get hurt too bad like my mom. Housekeeping is non-existent.

Never leave your loved one Mustang Creek Estaes

Mustang Creek Estates Sachse is the worst place for for the elderly. They can not keep help so therefore all 5 buildings are left with no one caring for residents. They leave the residents by themselves for 30minutes to one hour at a time, the care givers are usually outside between buildings on some kind of break. The ratio of care givers to residents is not even at state requirements. Rooms and laundry are a challenge to get done. The director has lied, and makes promises that she can not keep. She is in need of a career change and never allowed to be around the elderly
