Staff is very friendly, facility is immaculate and dining is great. Activities need work.

4 call and response system could improve (I.e responsiveness to patient needs when they ring). It's clean and friendly. Food is good. They seem a little understaffed at times and struggle if multiple residents need attention at the same time

Administration did not engage with residents or family at all. A kind word or how are things or a word of condolence when mom passed would have been so appreciated and would not take much time. Management was more focused on retaining workers with lots of social events for them instead of the actual quality of care for the residents. I know it's a tough business with lots of turnover but they should recognize the exceptional workers and pay them their worth. Often the weekend shift was way understaffed.

The facility is clean and welcoming. It doesn't feel clinical like a hospital or nursing home.

The people living there are friendly and most are ambulatory. Special things to do every day. Wish there wasn't such a big overturn of staff. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

Very quick to respond in a crisis. The financial representation regarding certain fees no very well explained. Our family members was there about 15 days. $[fee removed] non refundable deposit, she died on the 2nd day of the month but you pay for 7 no matter.

What we like the most about Morningside House is that most of the staff is extremely friendly. They have many activities available for the folks in assisted-living. My sister is now in the dementia care and I know they have some activities though I don't know exactly how many.

Morningside is great. Morningside was great, my dad liked the staff for the short time he was there.

Biggest problem with the facility is that when you take a resident out for a visit the the doors lock at 8:00pm. If you get back after that you have to wait until night staff decide to come down to let you in. Very long wait!!! This past year staff continually changed over in administration and heads of health.

The facility is really nice and welcoming. It's spacious for both the assisted living and memory care residents. With respect to the staff, they treat the residents like extended family. They are all so kind and nurturing and I know they're treating my mom well.

We were attracted to them because of the location and it was convenient for family. I probably would recommend to some. It really depended to their situation.

I was attracted to them because of the very friendly staff, inside activities, local to my home. I like the small environment for my mom. At times larger places are difficult for our loved ones to navigate. Also the staff really tries to get the residents involved with the indoor activities.

I arrived with COVID and praenomina so I was unware of people facilities etc. Took sometimes to adjust because I lived an independent life in a normal apartment. I had to adapt to rules and requirement that I never had at least the 25+ years before coming here. I think I've adjusted but would rather be "on my own" but don't expect that to happen! So I'll learn to like it!

Staff friendly, helpful, and caring. Many turnovers with dining staff and some with nursing staff. The two women at the top...the Director, [name removed] and Director of admissions, [name removed] were great and available.

A Place for Mom: Excellent service! I was given four facilities to visit and I had a very short window as I live out of town. After visiting Morningside, I canceled all others. The lobby is welcoming, a reception area that is staffed, and the smiles of residents and staff sold me. Staff ([name removed]) worked to get everything scheduled to make this move happen before I had to go home. The Morningside team was incredibly efficient and professional. My sister brought my Mom the day after my initial visit and things moved very quickly after that. Mom had been living in her home by herself. She would say that she was "living independently," but she wasn't: her daughters were managing everything for her. It was a difficult adjustment but the staff is so welcoming. Mom's one-bedroom apt. is warm and perfect for her. Mom was walking to meals and activities on her own until a recent hospital stay. The extra care she needs is being coordinated between Morningside and Hospice of the Chesapeake.
