The staff are friendly and helpful, the facility is clean and well maintained, my parents enjoy the food. There are plentiful activities, though my dad isn't interested in them. The apartment is amply big, though the bigger places are not always available. I would move my father to a smaller one (he doesn't need the bigger one since Mom died), but I don't want to confuse him by changing his location.

The staff is nice and mostly have been great. I think a suggestion box would be useful as would an apartment/ equipment checklist before turning keys over to a new resident.

Toured the facility with my daughter for a place for my husband who is dealing with a long term healing process for a broken leg. The customer service quickly arranged for an assessment for care for my husband. We were on a fast track to get him placed. It happened. He is now in a studio apartment.

Apartment is large (1138 sf), and is well laid out with a complete kitchen 2 bedrooms w/ walking closets and 2 baths. Large island in kitchen area, patio, and full size W/D not stacked. Food is great, with variety but some standards as well. Staff have been very welcoming and the maintenance folks are making several accommodations for us. The attitude is that this is your home, so make it your own.

My mom lived here for about 6 months before we lost her. The management was great about allowing us to modify rooms to make them more accessible. The carestaff are all really great unfortunately we saw them running into staffing problems. The front desk ladies were really amazing. The food is very good but lacks rotation. It is easy to arrange transportation and having a doctor and pt on site is amazing.

The facility was beautiful and well maintained. I would absolutely recommend it to others who are searching for a place for their loved one.

Their attention to high fall risk patients could be better. My loved one has experienced multiple falls. Actions are very reactive rather than proactive.

The staff, was excellent. The facility is beautiful and well maintained. The care was good. Morningstar was not able to meet all of my wife's care needs. She suffers from depression. They are well suited to care for residents with physical challenges but not mental challenges.

2 bedroom with a fireplace on 4th floor is wonderful. Court yard is great. Holiday celebrations are good. Staff is great. Activities are good. Parking for those with cars is great. They have exercise classes, but not enough. Very easy. The place is clean. They offer rides to appointments and places but seem too busy, not enough drivers and nothing last minute.they have a little bar that people like to get a drink before dinner. Most disappointing is we moved in when they had points for meals. They could use their extra points for family. They took that away and get all meals included with their rent. Now family and friends pay to eat there every time. It discourages visitors and seems a waste as we frequently have meals outside of the place. Also if you are in assisted living you cannot go to independent living dining room unless you pay for it. That is just ridiculous as they are already paying for meals that are all made in the same kitchen. It also creates a huge separation between the two groups. Going into assisted living then feels like a death sentence for the residence. As they get separated. We love that we can just give them 30 day notice and move out. The handymen are responsive and fix things when asked. The front desk girls are nice. I like that they check on them if they don't push the green check every morning. The food gets old and lacks taste (bland) a lot of the time. There isn't a huge change in the menus. They have had quite a bit of turn over with kitchen staff. We have a new cook this month. They changed out perfectly good carpeting and they chose such an UGLY carpet. Really bad. The old carpet was great. Maybe they did it so if there is a spill or accident know one will ever know. Really bad. But the rooms are great with nice upgrades.

It's a roomy, clean apartment. Friendly, patient staff in the memory care. Appetizing food, and a flexible serving schedule to accommodate Mom's longer sleeps.

Memory care was a 5. We felt that the front desk of the retirement home wasn't very helpful with most situations. The room was very nice, and the food was ok. The wait staff was very friendly. The memory care unit did a great job at looking after Barbara, she can be a handful as they found out.

lots of turnover. it feels like a lot of money. But my mom is safe and generally happy and that is very important. Yes, I would recommend MorningStar at Observatory Park to other families based on the experience so far.

They are very knowledgeable and willing to step in when assistance is needed.

Actually the staff at Morning Star has been wonderful. We had to move Mom from Independent Care to Assisted Living. They were so helpful and her new apartment is so nice and homey. We all love it. Not all meals are bad. I know it's hard cooking for that many people. Their special dinners are awesome.

We have had mom at Morningstar for 2 months. Pros: right size community with attentive and compassionate people. Apartments are well maintained, modern and clean. Many options for activities and physical movement. Cons: Staffing turnover and communication regarding changes could be more timely, clear and transparent. Food is ok not many fresh options Food could be better prepared too much canned and gravy covered meals. Even eggs and potatoes are processed not fresh

The caregivers are amazing, their ratios are much better than average, and they keep my mom active with many brain activities and physical activity. The best memory care I have seen. The environment is welcoming, and the housekeepers keep the rooms sparkling clean. All staff are very friendly. They have an activities coordinator that is great. They have volunteers that come in and even paint my mom's nails or braid her hair. One important thing that I love is the camera system in each room. The second a resident falls, the camera turns on and records the specifics of a fall so they can see what happened and look at trends of falls etc. all staff in the building are alerted the moment a resident falls and respond immediately. I've never seen this at any other facility. The only issues I have had are with the food and the laundry. My mom has lost many items even though I have labeled them. The food is decent (sometimes not very good) but always cold. I know it's hard to keep food warm when serving to that many people. Very small portions at times.

The facility has been nicely updated and appointed. They communicate generic plans and projects weekly. Staff turnover is not a problem.

The facility and resident’s room was outstanding, including a personal washer/dryer. Resident was wheelchair bound and had to call for all services, which he was reluctant to do. Meal service was excellent but scheduling was up to the resident. Due to the numbers of care providers, there was inconsistency in the quality of service provided.

This is a very nice place to be. There are residents that have been here 10 years and one person, 16 years and still enjoy it. Staff is very accommodating. We residents, say hello to other residents. I'm new here and you get assigned an ambassador to help your find your way and answer questions. A lot of activity with new residents moving in, and makes it difficult to get something taken care of by maintenance, but they keep you informed. Lots of off-site activities to choose from. Restaurants, trips to grocery stores, museums, etc.
