5 on everything. It is a wonderful place and my dad is very happy and based on the experience we have had so far, we would absolutely recommend this community to other families!
Nestled among towering trees and a quiet stream, Bella Terra is a beautiful place to call home. A rental community, residents pay no entrance or endowment fee. Overall 5 in all categories. Monarch Spring Meadows is in excellent condition, with caring staff, and good food. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had.
Life is all about balance. That is why our community is strategically located in a small, suburban New England town in the well-regarded Fairfield County area. This means you have a small community feeling while still being close to major attractions and mass transit to New York City.Connections...

Call Spring Meadows for information about a loved one, and they will give you the run around. Hostile people in a sterile atmosphere who will tell you everything is great while your loved one is miserable. All about the money.

This place isn’t shut down yet? Will be soon. Wish I could leave 0 stars. Company does not protect the residents as covid19 is currently in the building. They are allowing anyone into resident apartments. My mother said employees from dining and activities are entering apartments without masks. They just started wearing masks on Thursday. Horrible care provided.

To all who are seeking a place for a loved one, please be cautious of this place. My grandmother had moved into this place several years ago after her husband passed away while still being semi independent. In the beginning, it was a second home to her, filled with countless activities, caring staff and management, and so on. Unfortunately, as time went on, and my grandmother was having much more trouble walking before transitioning to a wheel chair and constantly having to use the bathroom due to medical issues, the place changed. The facility kept tacking on extra care charges despite the fact my grandma had a private aid 12 hours a day. When trying to call the finance department to state that my family was paying privately for an aid for half the day, all we were left with was an argument, a cold nature from the woman who works in the finance department or at one point, no call backs because they could not be bothered doing their research. My grandmother had fallen, while an aid, who worked for the fountains (not private,) was in her apartment with her, resulting in three fractured ribs, stitches in her head, hip injury, a black eye, a bloody nose and being rushed to the ER. The aid in the room was the same aid my grandmother had asked management not to assist her due to the aids cold, rude and uncaring nature that had resulted in discrepancies in the past. To this day, my grandmother, facility staff and the aid all have different stories. How does a resident fall in their small apartment while an aid is present you may ask? We still ask to this day. On top of this, the facility nearly blamed my grandmother for the aid not doing her job properly. Not too long after this incident, my grandmother had to go to a rehab facility. The Fountains waited until the last possible second (3 days before she was to be released from rehab) to evaluate my grandmother to only say they would not take her back at the fountains. My grandmother was devastated. If you ask me, they did not take her back to cover their own behinds because of the incident that occurred with the aid in her room. The Fountains uprooted my grandmothers entire life due to not taking her back, and essentially left her without a place to live. On top of that, she was expected to pay for each day her belongings were still in her apartment. Imagine being held liable to pay an excessive amount of money when a facility essentially kicked you out of your home? Absolutely sickening. Please be Leary of this place before placing a loved one her. Please also do not trust the aid [name removed] with your loved one, as she is the aid responsible for my grandmas injuries due to carelessness. The staff and management are not what it used to be. They have no problem taking your money, but have problems with taking responsibility for the staff’s poor behaviors and correcting it.

If I knew what I know now I never would have sent my parents to this place. Not enough help ( aides). Poorly run, constantly raising the price, administration has no idea what really goes on inside the apartments concerning aide care, Aides are suppose to check in on residents every two hours, that never is done. Before I hired a private aide my parent was sitting in a wet diaper for 7 hours, hence a breakdown of skin. Administration denies and blames the residents for any issues regarding meals, care etc. The medical records are hand written in a binder instead of electronic records. If you need an answer about their records they take a long time to get back to you. We area charged a monthly fee for motion detection system that hasn't worked for years. KEEP YOUR PARENTS HOME WITH A PRIVATE AIDE!!!

The building is gorgeous and the facilities are very nice. Having said that, my grandmother had a lot of problems at this place. The food is awful and they only do about half the activities that they advertise daily. People complain, but the management does nothing. It is like talking to a brick wall. The management is very poor. They seem more concerned with protecting themselves and their friends than helping the elderly people staying there. It created an "us" vs. "them" feeling that was very strange and uncomfortable. It is odd that they would put such an ineffective management team in such an expensive venture. So, to sum it up, beautiful place and facility. But, even though it looks nice there is something rotten on the inside.

Beware! This place is a total dump. As of today 3/29/2017, this place is completely infested with bed bugs and that's not the only problem. ANY good review, and I mean any good review is their own marketing department writing fictitious reviews. The building Is falling apart. The owner [Removed] refuses to pay for any repairs, while he builds waterfront homes for himself. There's an outstanding electric bill for hundreds of thousands of dollars that he refuses to pay, because the electric company can't shut them off because of elderly occupants. They hire local drug addicts to work in their kitchen. They've had employee's overdose on heroin in the bathrooms. Employees sleep and play games on their cell phones while the residents sit in their soiled adult diapers and stare at the walls all day long. I could go on and on about this place.

Very disappointing. Every complaint we had was never addressed. The only people who care are the ones they get rid of for telling the families too much. Don't let their facade fool you.

The Executive Director of that place is a bully and has a SHADY background to say the least. The fact that the owners keep him in the building knowing his reputation speaks for itself. Do not move your loved one into that place. We sure as hell didn't!!!

While it may look wrapped up pretty with a bow, this facility is far from a good one. The 3rd floor roof leaks, they have mold throughout the building because of this ongoing problem. The elevator has gotten stuck on numerous occasions. Good leadership is not there. The memory care floor sticks the members of that unit in front of a TV all day. The food sent to the memory care unit is almost never served hot to the residents (huge complaint on that floor)and the aides tend to eat the food that's sent down for the residents, I have seen it with my own eyes. I'm not the only family memeber that has. Management is very well aware of this, families have complained, direct supervisor's have said something but it continues and the residents suffer in the process. Last I knew, when the residents are eating I was under the impression the aides were supposed to ensure safety and help them if necessary. Not be making a plate of food and eating themselves, talking about hair, dancing inappropriately, on their cell phones and tablets, or sleeping in a closet. The aides make personal fun of residents and tend to not have much respect for them. If your family memeber says the same, take them seriously, they are not making it up. I strongly suggest you consider other options before choosing here because the negatives most definitely outweigh the positives.

This community has the potential to be amazing. However, the corporation is not interested in investing the money, nor do they have the money, needed to repair major ceiling leaks which have been there for many years. Staff turnover is a major issue with several Executive Directors and Department Heads leaving within months of each other. Landmark use to offer a subsidized housing program to about 60% of its residents which had a major impact on the type of residents it attracted. Someone could pay $5k a month privately while others payed $1k thru the PACE program. When a family is willing to pay privately Landmark will accept that families loved one even if the community can't accommodate their level.of care. Not a community I would let my loved one move into!

Awful place, the staff is always on their cells and don't seem to really care about the residents and their needs. When visitng my grandmother I personally heard the nurses laugh and talk bad about the residents they were taking care of. We took her out of this place. Not a place I would recommend

I would give a rating of 0 if that was possible. My mom moved in over three weeks ago and it has been a nightmare. There is no ventilation in the bathrooms, her apartment is not cleaned, she has no mailbox (whereas others do) and [removed]. I would not recommend The Fountains to anyone. [removed]

My loved one was only there for a short time. The supervision was not good. The doors are heavy. It’s almost like you’re in an apartment. I don’t think they did a good job on the assessment. I’d give them a zero on the finance. It was friendly, clean – a nice community. But the rooms are too secluded.
