Not much for activities.

My parents were here for a while. They kept dad locked up, and there were no activities. The goal was to keep my parents together, in spite of different levels of care being needed, but this just didn't work.

This has not been a great experience.

Things have been going down hill after moving in. Sometimes I'm kind of surprised in the condition she is in when I get there where she has food smeared on her face, her hair not always washed. They do have 24 hour nursing staff. They have a memory care unit but no bars on the beds, no alarms on the beds. There are cords to be pulled but a dementia patient won't know to pull them. The head nurse tries very hard and the other nurses are good but there is not very good communication between one shift to the other. Medication was not always put in the log. Perhaps they could hire more staff. Each care manager has eight patients, that may be a bit high. I don't think they are unkind, but there is room for improvement.

Empty Promises

After our loved one was here only a short amount of time, our loved one fell and was injured. It seemed like they were not caring for our loved one. They didn't provide the services they advertised. The administrative staff promises one things but the medical staff delivers something else.

OK at best

The Fountains has had a total renovation. The place look great. If your loved one is more independent The Fountains is a good place. If your loved ones requires assistance you may want to look elsewhere as there is not enough staff. On a good day you may find 3/4 caregivers for the entire building. On overnights there are 2 caregivers for the entire building. The weekends the staffing is less. There are daily activities but a lot of downtime without activities. The food is good and there is a nice variety offered.

Discrimination & a Lack of Compassion

My daughter found this place & fell in love instantly. She went on a tour with [name removed] & called me on FaceTime to speak to [name removed] as well. My grandmother’s traumatic situation was explained in detail & she made it seem like it wouldn’t be an issue. Unfortunately, that was a lie. The paperwork was given to the hospital to complete & it was returned to them for review. The hospital said she’s “agitated”, so [name removed] called me to get further explanation about it. I gave a detailed explanation. They were supposed to do a virtual assessment [date removed] & they were a no show. They didn’t give notice that they changed their minds, so the hospital social worker got nasty with them. They decided that she wasn’t a good fit there. No explanation. After researching them after this happened and seeing that they allowed a dementia resident to wonder off, I guess we dodged a bullet. Check the complaints on this place with government entities. They are unprofessional & lack compassion.

Hire more aides to assist us.

Pros: Okay/good food. Engaging activities some times. Cons: Not enough aides. Only 2 aides work daily now, compared to 3 previously. All the aides are always busy with someone else when needed.

Think twice about the fountains.

Ultimately disappointing. My mother-in-law’s condition improved once she’d moved in 5 years ago, but had been steadily declining in the last two years. She was regularly not going down to meals, of which my husband and I were not made aware and her health suffered as a result. We live locally and could easily come by to help finesse things, had we been made aware, but we were not kept in the loop and had to rely on our visits (at least weekly) to try to determine her condition. Finally, she was taken to the hospital being dehydrated and in renal failure. Once her condition improved enough to return to fountains, they felt she wasn’t health enough and we were encouraged to send her to a skilled nursing facility. Though she had been in hospital and rehab for a month, we were expected to pay for that entire time, as well as for her level of care, and also had to give 30 days notice at her moving out (though the matetials they provided said that move-outs at their discretion would only require 14 days notice). I’d think long and hard about leaving a loved one there- while many of the staff there is nice, there is high turnover and some on the managerial staff seem more interested in the bottom line than in providing any kind of empathy to families going through a difficult time.

Spring Meadow has gone down hill under present leadership

The facility as consistently gone down hill over the past several years. They are severely understaffed and the leadership team is bad. The head nurse has the job of covering up mistakes and is rumored to drink. The GM hides in her office and does not engage families, for fear of hearing complaints. What’s saved this facility are the private sides that most residents hire to get adequate care. The Corp people really have to take a look at this [removed].”, and change up the leadership for professional , caring and competent individuals.

Memory care is an afterthought clearly. Rooms were not ideal for a person with dementia and they smelled musty. Residents were in their own rooms watching TV rather than interacting in any way. Staff seemed friendly but salesperson reminded me of a used car salesman. I wouldn't consider this for memory care needs.

You let me down!

When me and my loved one first got into this place we loved it. Since then things have changed and it is not good. We feel that a lot of things should have been told to us before we signed any lease. We are now looking to relocate and we are very disappointed.

Good until the end came

I am writing in response to the administrative staff at Bella Terra. About one hour after my mother passed I called Bella Terra to tell them that my mom had died and I would be there with my sister to get clothing for her funeral. I showed up at the main desk then went to the head person and it was as if I told them my pet gold fish had died and I was coming to dig a hole. No offense but you people need to get it together and act like the family you profess to be. I will once again say my mother was very happy here - it was there treatment of us after she died that was uncalled for . I'm not even talking about the day of her death. The entire event surrounding our emptying out her apt was uncomfortable. The sweetest people there were the aides who came to the room, expressed their sympathy and said kind and caring words to us and offered us help. NO ONE FROM THE ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF SAID OR DID ONE THING!!!

It was big, beautiful and immaculate....

It was big, beautiful and immaculate. When we went there, we toured and every thing was lovely, but it was a little pricey. We went up to their life guidence section. Going through I saw two young girls who work there chatting and a resident was trying to change channels on the t.v. and she was not paid attention to. To me that was not acceptable.

Better off at home

I suppose it could be worse, so we'll assign 2 stars. Very understaffed. Some staff are nice and helpful and caring, others are useless and clueless. The issue with a place like this is the necessity to rely on the staff and when staff members are unreliable, as was often the case here, it is impossible to feel comfortable with the staff or the environment. I would agree it was probably not the best fit for my mom, it was clear all they wanted was money and all they're after is money, so they either should've never accepted her, or addressed the fact the were unable to properly accommodate her. I highly, highly recommend doing extensive research before entering an elder family member into this type of environment. I suspect a family member it that is fully able to handle themselves and potentially live on their own, but you simply want a senior community for them to live in, this could be a good fit, if you think it's worth an ADDITIONAL $3,000+ per month as compared to standard rent if they we're living on their own. No one is going to encourage them to do activities and participate in the events, so they will need to be willing to do those things on their own. Otherwise, this place is a Complete waste of time and money if you don't have plenty of expendable income.
