Disappointed in our experience at Flagstone

I would tell anyone looking into Flagstone Senior Living to look for a different place for your loved ones. They really need to improve on their staffing here. We are disappointed and frustrated with the lack of care, lack of concern, and lack of response whenever we voice our concerns.

They are understaffed, and unorganized. They did not provide what they said. The price for memory care in general is far to high. They had trouble keeping her clean (she is incontinent) and keeping her bed clean, and they lost her bedding and clothes, they lost her tv remote and stuffed animal. My mother was having trouble chewing her food, and no one noticed. My sister and I on several different occasions noticed, and I mentioned it to the staff, who said they would give her more chewable food, but it never happened.

Don't Go Here

Upon move-in we discovered the carpet was FILTHY. My bare feet were left black after several hours of moving them in. The woman who ran the place literally THREW THEM OUT upon finding out they had Covid , which they themselves went to get tested for & reported immediately to the staff. She forced them to get on a bud and ride 3 hours to a disgusting "nursing home". She verbally assaulted & was incredibly rude to my mother & her husband & they did not understand what was going on. The food was awful, the facility was dirty and security was nonexistent. Once my parents were evicted for having Covid, they never went back. I would never recommend The Renaissance at Ponca City.

Think twice before sending your loved one hear

Another commenter said if your loved one isn’t independent and needs help with most or all daily activities, this may not be the place. My mom had a dog who was not getting walked,,my poor mom was living in dog waste. My mom lost so so much weight. She then had a fall and was picked up by the ambulance. The facility didn’t reach out to follow up on my mom. We would send email after email and never get a response. We would even cc higher up management and days would go by with no reply. She was in memory care and a lot of our emails were regarding getting her reassessed to see if she needed a higher level of care. Again if this isn’t for memory care, this may be a good place but you’re a loved one who needs extra tlc due to dementia. It may be a more affordable than others but you get what you pay for

Nightmare!

My mother moved into the memory care unit for three to four months in 2017. It is hard to put into words just how horrible our experience was. She had multiple falls, I found her naked on the floor several times, she along with her bedding, her curtains and carpet were covered in feces almost every time I visited. She would not get cleaned up, nails trimmed, bathed, urinated clothing changed and the list goes on until I was there to see to it that these things got done. Orders by her doctor were not followed and we just couldn't get her out fast enough. I believe that her care was like it was because she was on Medicaid. She was finally put on hospice and her hospice worker worked tirelessly to find another place to accept her and did eventually and she received the most amazing care that she had deserved all along. I don't know how places like McLoughlin place in Oregon City can even stay open they should be shut down immediately. They lost all of her clothing and even her teeth!

If I could give this facility a less than zero, I would. [Name removed], the lead person in the bldg. for 28 residents, basically asked me what I was doing there. Very unprofessional and rude. The facility itself smelled like urine throughout the whole building. There's no way I'd put my loved one in here!! Cost is a lot higher than other facilities we looked at too. Definitely NOT worth the monthly cost.

Horrible experience

My mother's stay was horrible. She had alzheimer's. She was there for six weeks and in that time she fell 8 times. She suffered a broken wrist and possibly a broken hip that went undetected. On one of my many visits the staff didn't know where she was ,she was found in a Male patients room with the door closed. On two different visits I found caregivers arguing with her. I also found feces covering the toilet, on the bottom of her shoes,on the carpet and in her laundry basket and on the wall. On same visit a caregiver told me her lamp fell and broke . I found broken glass in her nightstand and in a decorative urn. Her blanket and mattress pad were found on another patients bed. Caregivers are diffinetly under trained and under staffed.I moved her to a wonderful place where she passed only weeks later probably from the poor care she received at Mcloughlin place in Oregon city Oregon. On the day I moved her one of the caregivers told me that my mother wasn't treated right . I give this terrible facility ZERO stars.

Deteriorating community struggling for knowledgable staff

Deteriorating community. Workers are college students or kids that don't find jobs. No knowledge of senior care, they are there to make money. Heard many tell sob stories to residents to try to get extra money. Surrounded by low income apartment building with people screaming around at late hours. Also has casino building near some apartments. Loud music at weekends. Seems to be no control of who comes and goes in alzheimer section. Food is undercooked or burned.

Do Not Reccommend / DO NOT RECCOMMEND

Took my step dad .... after 3 months of searching .. wrong choice! the very first day he moved in within 10 hours hs dog was kicked out. I went 2-3 times a day the first week because he had lived in the same house for over 50 years, the dog also lived at the residence his whole life. The very frirst time he opened the door = dog ran out, he got put out. The very day after we moved into the Mansion At Waterford they posted a sign that bedrails are no longer allowed. My step dad is 78 with parkinsons (for 10 yrs) one of the need requirements are bedrails ... one of the reasons for placement were frequent falls, along with falling out of bed. We just had the bed delivered and he was afraid to go to sleep cause he knew he would fall.. not to mention the time in responding to his press button that costs double life alert that we had./ i went up one night to take him an ice cream and he resorted to sleeping in the chair for fear of falling. Acouple thousand later- new bigger bed... meanwhile everytime i went his mouth was dirty toilet FILTHY. The administrationion personel who worked there 2 wks prior when he moved in got fired, new personel never even introduced herself. My step father told me he fell and it took them 4 hours to respond- that's when i went to administrator- and mentioned she wasn't very professional to not of introduced herself and how i would be removing my step dad /due to the conditions he was living in- his feet were so cracked he could hardly wald from dry skin. [Removed]- BUT I PLACED HIM IN THERE? They do not care for the elderly by no means only about how they are going to take their money

NOT A GOOD CHOICE

One disappointment after another. Transitioned through major turnover of staff and administration. Now have an Administrator [Removed] who dances around the issues with lies and empty promises and nothing ever changes. [Removed] is in charge of the memory care section and is so rude to patients and their families. She is not even a nurse! She is a nursing assistant with NO formal memory care training. [Removed] raises her voice and upsets the patients. Your family member is NOT safe in this place. I wouldn't let them take care of my dog.

Extremely expensive! They charge you for everything from bringing up a tray, to using a wheelchair, to helping get dressed, all above and beyond the basic cost which has gone up twice in the last year. The base cost was to be about $4,300. It is now well over $6,000!

Buyer beware

Recently moved my loved one out of this facility for the following reasons: 1. The food/menu was terrible. Sandwiches served every night for dinner. The food at ALL meals was ALWAYS served cold. Any meat products were overcooked making them tough and hard to chew. 2. Odors: At first glance/sniff the facility smells decent. However most of the odors are covered up by potpourri and sprays. After awhile a strong smell of urine can be detected and most of the couches/chairs smell horrific. 3. Staff: most of the staff are very nice and caring but there is HIGH turnover and shortage of staff leaving residents without proper care/attention. For example: my parent has waited 1+ hours several times in the dining room for meals; rarely received scheduled showers; maintenance issues never addressed....the list goes on.... 4. Supposedly they recently hired a nurse. She was NEVER available. 5. Activities: hardly any. The same boring few activities every week/month. Nothing in life is perfect but if you have a choice I would steer clear of Caley Ridge. After 2 years the problems only got worse despite empty promises. It looks nice but remember: All that glitters is not gold!

We definitely had some problems with ...

We definitely had some problems with The Mansion. We liked the location, and when we first moved here, everything was fine. However, slowly things started falling apart. The care services were not acceptable and my loved one was even getting hurt here. We were paying more money for less care here, and for worse conditions. Needless to say, this did not work out.

I do not recommend Renaissance to anyone

I counted 11 occasions where I had to provide her with food because they could not. They do not respond to the call for help button. Also, she sliced her leg open and all they did was give her a dirty dish towel and did not even call me, they did not even do the basics of first aid. Management is ineffective and the staff members are not on the same page. My mom ended up moving out due to these issues. One of their residents in memory care walked out at 1AM and they did not call law enforcement until after 2 AM. Overall, we did not have a good experience here and would not recommend it.

Making things easier for patients

Texas Born I do not live in Oklahoma but I have a sister in the memory unit at the Mansion at Waterford and have a difficult time getting a phone call through to her. Evidently there is no cordless phone that can be taken to the patient and therefore the patient has go to the office phone. How difficult could it be to wipe down a cordless phone and then carry it to the room so the patient won't have to struggle to the phone. These patients need to be able to communicate with family and friends in order to keep them from feeling so isolated and forgotten especially during the coronavirus lockdown. Very disappointed in such little accommodations and conveniences for the patients.

college dorm + retirement community?

This place was once a nice home years ago. It now changed into a place where you can see there is not enough money being spent for the care of the facility and hiring unqualified staff members. Non licensed caregivers for the elderly is not a good idea. The grounds are not taken care of - and requests are not fulfilled. The director does not pay attention to the residents needs and also allows college students to stay there- imagine that - in a retirement community!

All of these reviews are pretty old. My mom is there and I have a very different opinion of the food, and cleanliness of the shared spaces, I hear nothing good from the “residents”about the food. Bad Experience at the McLoughlin Place (Do NOT recommend)

I would NOT recommend putting your loved one in the private pay memory care building! My loved one was in this facility for 5 months and I just couldn't take it anymore! My loved one was treated pretty poorly in my eyes! From sitting in their own dirty depends for 4 hours to having a bed made with urinated underpads. They went in the Mcloughlin Place walking and when I took them out they were not walking at all....now in a wheelchair wheeling themselves around. Hopefully in this new facility they will follow the doctors order, the Mclouphlin Place did not follow the orders of walking them everyday. Also, I asked the medical assistant on the last day they were at the facility if I was the only one complaining about the kind of care my loved one was getting and the medical assistant told me that not all were treated poorly!!! Are you kidding me!!!
