Milestone Retirement Communities

It's been a really good experience so far. The facility is really nice and it's always in top shape. The staff are always very friendly. If the resident's aren't feeling well, they are very accomodating and helpful. My loved one always loved BINGO, and they play it a couple times a week. They also have crafts, movie nights, and family nights. For all of the ammeneties and activities, it's a very fair price. She's in a good place.

Very helpful, courteous, and straightforward. The staff is responsive as needs arise. They did everything that they could to ease my Mom's transition to assisted living. Everything went according to plan. Plus, the location is great - nearby shopping and entertainment center. Especially impressed with their willingness to take Mom to medical appointments as needed. She says that she feels very safe there.

You really need to know your facility when it comes to whether or not they have a doctor in house or a nurse who is an RN. They can't guage the liability of your loved ones actions without a doctor on staff. Be aware of who can solve certain issues. Dad is an attention seeker and this has caused a few issues. Whether you are rich or poor this is something everyone should know about when deciding where to go. There have been a couple of situations where when you walk in you can't sign in because they all help with meals and there is nobody at the front desk. They are very thorough, there is a packet for when they go to the doctor to be filled out by the doctor. The staff is thoughtful and wonderful and they treat him really well. The reason we chose the meadows it's close to his primary doctor and his friends so they could visit.

My Mother at age 93 didn't want to move until a recent illness made it impossible to stay at home. We selected McLoughin Place and she loved it, her one bedroom apt and the food. But, more important we were impressed by the staff, the services and the range of care available. As a son what I wanted for my Mother was a better life. What I wanted for me was a sense of security knowing my Mother was safe, comfortable and secure.

My Dad really likes it there.

My mom has been there a year now, in fact, she just had her 100th birthday. The center helped sponsor a party for her, which was very generous of them. My mom is very pleasant, never complains, and overall, she gets good care. She has had a tendency to fall a few times, but they are quick to contact me and get her taken care of. She is in a wheelchair most of the time now, so sometimes she forgets she can't walk with very good balance and she tries to get up on her own, so they try to watch her more closely now. The staff is very cordial and kind to her and to me. They also like to fix her hair as they do the other residents. Their activities director is great and loves her like she's family. They all seem to love and care about the residents in the memory care center, where my mom lives. Her apartment is small, but it seems to be fine for her. Her room stays fairly clean, and the food seems fine, they are also good about giving them healthy snacks. I know no place is perfect, and it was hard enough to take her to a facility, but I think Sand Sage was a good choice, I feel blessed to have her where they seem to care about her and always seem to be be watching out for her.

My husband has been at the Meadows for about two months now. It is a nice clean facility with friendly staff. They have many activities every day for the residents. He seems as happy as he can be there because, of course, he would rather be at home. His only complaint is that sometimes his attendant doesn't come as quickly as he would like when he calls. I am there for a few hours every day and what I have observed is the attendant usually arrives within just a few minutes of the pendant fob being pushed. It probably just seems longer to my husband because he is used to doing things himself and not waiting for help. I would recommend the Meadows.

The staff was very responsive to our questions and requests the room was nice and was a good size there was no ac unit in the bedroom which we asked to be installed when we did the tour and that never came to pass the cleaning staff was great and on the ball they sent us and refund check and we need it reissue in the name of the trust and they have not responded to that request

I think the staff has been good overall. My only complaint is that they don't seem to have activities in memory care based on the individual levels. My mother-in-law is in beginning stages...too far along for independent living. She has been put on a wing that has individuals much more progressed in memory issues. They do not seem to have time to get her involved in any activity. She gets really lonely.

The Meadows staff are friendly, attentive & know residents by name. Some staff have been there 15+ years so low staff turnover says a lot. Good value for the price & services they provide and safe place to live. My dad's difficult & demanding and the staff manage him well. I've had three grandparents stay and now my Dad, so very comfortable with The Meadows

Food service staff know the resident's names, a nice touch! • Great location, right next to downtown, Safeway, and amenities • Solid transportation options & great transportation manager • Very good leadership (Names Removed) • Move-in coordinator, [Name Removed], is amazing! • Their hair & nail salon could use some improvement, but at least they have one (part-time) • Good cleaning staff, but I don't know too many details • Nice facility! Clean, well maintained, regularly refreshed, well-lit • Not enough visitor parking, but that's a nitpick • Some rooms are ok and pretty small/barebones, some are excellent • Its quite pricey! • Activities are fairly good. Exercise, bingo, balloon volleyball, puzzles, happy hour, weekly movies, occasional outings • Front desk staff are friendly and helpful • Nursing staff is friendly, but provides minimal/no help unless you have assisted living • Nursing staff manager is what brings this from a 5 star to 4. (more below) The nursing staff manager is rarely available, and therefore somewhat unresponsive. She can be gruff. I know of multiple cases where people tried to get nursing assistance, and she diagnosed the residents with dementia, refused to provide any assistance, and put them on the fast-track out of the facility. She does not seem to distinguish between mild/harmless and severe cases, and is quick to try to push people out. Chandlers Square is clear up-front that they are not equipped to deal with severe dementia, which is fine. But there is a disconnect between multiple facility directors and the nursing manager about what is considered mild and safe. My advice: avoid the nursing staff, especially the manager. You can appeal to the director of the facility for a more reasonable opinion.

Staff is pleasant, with some standout individuals. They haven't always made good choices with my mom, but overall good. Seems like staff is limited (not enough people). Activities look good, although my mother usually chooses not to participate. Room size and privacy for a shared room is good. Food is reasonably good.

Our apartment is a nice size. The food is good, the meal choices are a nice plus. If for some reason you don't want the selection served you may order off the substitution menu. The staff are friendly, helpful, busy, knowledgeable. Laundry is done for each resident individually. We are glad to be here.

I would give marketing a 4. I would give the finance/mgt a 1. We felt our parent was treated well and we could easily get a hold of the caretaker if needed. Our parent seemed to enjoy the food, but I never tried it. We had a lot of difficulty when our parent passed with the finance dept and mgt. they were very difficult to get a hold me of - did not return emails or phone messages left. They tried really hard to keep the advance payment we made blaming it on the way we gave final notice- our parent died while at the facility. It was very stressful. After 3-4 months they finally sent a check. So, even though I liked the care we received, I'm not sure I trust management.

He's not been able to get on a regular laundry day schedule, but we can request his laundry be done. He thinks the food is good. A couple of times he has called me to get help when he didn't get a response to his call bell, I called the desk to get help for him. He has gone to some activities with music and games. I don't know if the staff offer to assist him with showers, but we have hired extra help to come in to do that. Someone cleans his room weekly, and occasionally someone will come to take out the trash on another day. He seems content there for the situation he's in. Please keep my feedback anonymous. We had her in the memory care as suggested by skilled nursing. However, she is only at the beginning stages. The staff recognized this and we just moved her to assisted living. She is happier.

Clean, great value for $. Lots of activities. Quality care. Good food. Only wish they would contract with a better physician. Asked Doc about RSV vaccine for clients but he refused. Of course my Husband got it and never really was able to clear lungs. Had several bouts of pneumonia. Would like a more aggressive care.

My husband was placed in this facility as a place to rest and heal while he fights stage 4 cancer. He enjoys the food but states that he is regularly bored. One thing I have learned is that most of these facilities are occupied by elderly women. However, there is a nice courtyard outside at the facility where he can get away to enjoy some quiet time outside. I would Rate this facility a 4 because dealing with the administrative staff can be a bit cumbersome.

It's only been a few months, but we've been very happy with Caley Ridge so far. The staff has been good, it seems safe and clean, and they seem to have a decent amount of activities for their residents. They have a higher resident to staff ratio than, say, Morningstar, but they have enough staff, mom has not had any problems so far, and they cost a fraction of Morningstar. Morningstar was fantastic, but we just couldn't afford it anymore. The food seems basic, but good, and mom seems happy with it. She's at a stage in life where she doesn't eat much and it's usually the same basic things over and over. The caregivers have been very good to her. [name removed] is their sales and entry transition person and she's fantastic and took very good care of us. We're happy with it so far and would recommend it.

The memory care help was very good. Marketing staff was great. The person dealing with finances was very rude. Would never return phone calls or emails. She was very difficult to work with when our family member passed. The manager was too. They wouldn't refund to us the [removed] we prepaid. It took 4 months to get the funds. My mom has since passed and she is the one that paid the funds. The check was made out to the person in the faculty and will never be cashed. It was a night mate and I would not recommend the facility to anyone because I felt they were real scammers at the end.
