Everything has been great! The staff are all very friendly and it's a very clean place - with no smell! The care they provide is great! Of course, they get busy, but they get to my loved one quickly. They've called and checked on her if needed. The activities are good and appropriate for the residents. However, one thing I would like to see would be for them to offer some sort of church service. Perhaps having local pastors on rotation to come in and do service. It's important to some of the residents, especially when they are going through difficult times. The price of Caley Ridge is fair, compared to some of the others. Senior Care is expensive as it is, but this place was actually a little bit cheaper than some of the others. One thing we do like is that they take medicaid once the finances run out. My loved one has a nice sized room, and when her Medicaid kicks in, she doesn't have to change rooms or have a roommate. There's no segregation and the other residents don't have to know. Overall, we are very pleased! The staff are wonderful to myself as well as my loved one! The residents are friendly and welcoming! They have a new chef, and the food is getting even better! I can go to bed and not worry about my loved one anymore, which is great!

It's been a really good experience so far. The facility is really nice and it's always in top shape. The staff are always very friendly. If the resident's aren't feeling well, they are very accomodating and helpful. My loved one always loved BINGO, and they play it a couple times a week. They also have crafts, movie nights, and family nights. For all of the ammeneties and activities, it's a very fair price. She's in a good place.

I would choose this facility for myself.

Very helpful, courteous, and straightforward. The staff is responsive as needs arise. They did everything that they could to ease my Mom's transition to assisted living. Everything went according to plan. Plus, the location is great - nearby shopping and entertainment center. Especially impressed with their willingness to take Mom to medical appointments as needed. She says that she feels very safe there.

The staff is thoughtful and wonderfull and they really treat him well.

You really need to know your facility when it comes to whether or not they have a doctor in house or a nurse who is an RN. They can't guage the liability of your loved ones actions without a doctor on staff. Be aware of who can solve certain issues. Dad is an attention seeker and this has caused a few issues. Whether you are rich or poor this is something everyone should know about when deciding where to go. There have been a couple of situations where when you walk in you can't sign in because they all help with meals and there is nobody at the front desk. They are very thorough, there is a packet for when they go to the doctor to be filled out by the doctor. The staff is thoughtful and wonderful and they treat him really well. The reason we chose the meadows it's close to his primary doctor and his friends so they could visit.

Mom's Happy

My Mother at age 93 didn't want to move until a recent illness made it impossible to stay at home. We selected McLoughin Place and she loved it, her one bedroom apt and the food. But, more important we were impressed by the staff, the services and the range of care available. As a son what I wanted for my Mother was a better life. What I wanted for me was a sense of security knowing my Mother was safe, comfortable and secure.

Overall not bad

My husband was placed in this facility as a place to rest and heal while he fights stage 4 cancer. He enjoys the food but states that he is regularly bored. One thing I have learned is that most of these facilities are occupied by elderly women. However, there is a nice courtyard outside at the facility where he can get away to enjoy some quiet time outside. I would Rate this facility a 4 because dealing with the administrative staff can be a bit cumbersome.

Good experience so far.

It's only been a few months, but we've been very happy with Caley Ridge so far. The staff has been good, it seems safe and clean, and they seem to have a decent amount of activities for their residents. They have a higher resident to staff ratio than, say, Morningstar, but they have enough staff, mom has not had any problems so far, and they cost a fraction of Morningstar. Morningstar was fantastic, but we just couldn't afford it anymore. The food seems basic, but good, and mom seems happy with it. She's at a stage in life where she doesn't eat much and it's usually the same basic things over and over. The caregivers have been very good to her. [name removed] is their sales and entry transition person and she's fantastic and took very good care of us. We're happy with it so far and would recommend it.

The memory care help was very good. Marketing staff was great. The person dealing with finances was very rude. Would never return phone calls or emails. She was very difficult to work with when our family member passed. The manager was too. They wouldn't refund to us the [removed] we prepaid. It took 4 months to get the funds. My mom has since passed and she is the one that paid the funds. The check was made out to the person in the faculty and will never be cashed. It was a night mate and I would not recommend the facility to anyone because I felt they were real scammers at the end.

Well-designed and clean, friendly and caring

It's much better than where she was - but still some frustration with the system. We chose this facility because of the spacious rooms, design of the units, and their ability to provide assistance with a Hoyer lift. Staff are friendly, kind, and patient. Even semi-private rooms are spacious, homey, and designed to maximize privacy. And price: "enhanced care" compared with a skilled nursing facility. Care is equivalent, in a nicer setting, for less cost. Food is several grades above the previous place (my only basis for comparison)

Overall would recommend

Menu looks good. Not sure on taste. Value for the money. Too early to rate. I love the facility. It is good. The staff is good, very friendly and caring. Ratio staff to residents in unit is good. Personal observation. Communications with families need work. Trying to learn their procedures as i haven't found a "how to" guide for things such as notification for checking residents out, joining her for a meal (posted meal times in unit is not actual). Not sure how involved the staff is supposed to be in getting residents to change clothes or change linens.

There's no better memory care facility than Sierra Ridge in Auburn, CA

They seem to have A LOT of employee "Turnover" every other week I visit, & there are 2-3 NEW staff Members & the previous ones are gone. What does that mean? Bad management??? QUALITY OF CARE? A lot of times I notice things that need to be taken care of right away, like, a resident walking around with "wet" pants or a puddle on the floor. Staff can't get to it for 15 to 20 minutes because they are busy doing other things like distributing medication or food. I think because they are always "Understaffed". Maybe they should pay their staff more. The activities lady "[name removed]" is an angel but when I spend a few hours there, It seems like there's a lot of "down time" between activities. [name removed] has already resigned. The food is about as good as a school cafeteria. I was told a year ago that they had a better than average chef in the kitchen. That seemed true at first. I'm pretty sure he resigned 8 months ago. CLEANLINESS? It's usually pretty clean & doesn't smell like pee. You DO have to check for wetness before sitting down on any cloth-cushioned couches. That's another thing the staff fails to notice before 3 or more other residents sit on it. Now you have 3 more residents walking around with wet pants that need to be changed. Which is MORE WORK for the already overwhelmed staff. Overall I don't think there's any better place.

My mom has given her permission and signed request to speak for her and express what is best for her.

All my mom's doctors honor the authority my mom has given me but it continues to be an issue at Flagstone. She doesn't not openly express her needs or challenges to the staff. She denies having a problem or struggle because she doesn't want to be a bother or admit something is wrong. This is part of her struggle with dementia and MCI. When i see evidence of a need, i express it to the staff. Its very upsetting that even with her written consent that daughter's requests need to be considered for her best interests + care, they still say she has to ask for what she needs. She is very independent but needs some attention given to care needs that she doesn't express.

Good in facility care but organization outside it needs help

Most of my experience with the hands on care has been verry good. I admire those who take care of the population she is in in Memory Care. However, getting my Mom to appointments has been a challenge. But, today they were very efficient and I sincerely appreciate it. My Mom does need much better mouth care. I will be sending information to assist you in that DAILY need so that her mouth isn't hurting her. Now, the financial management has been very poor. My Mom is on DHS and the money that they are telling me I owe is MUCH less than what DHS says. In short, the facility is losing money. We are looking into the bookkeeping for your benefit.
