A Place for Mom has scored Metta Senior Living with 8.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score based on 46 reviews in the last 2 years. Over all time, Metta Senior Living has 245 reviews with an average "overall experience" of 4.2 out of 5.
The residents seemed happy and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The reason I give it a 3 is that is seemed too big and not many outdoor porch/patio areas readily accessible. You have to bring your own refrigerator.

Didn't really see any of the staff. Rooms were small & somewhat dark. It felt like an 'institution' rather than a 'home.' Clean. Many of the residents were going to play Bingo. I think it would be an adequate facility.

The person to meet with didn't show. Waited 45mins. Staff seemed friendly, reviewed ratings, not favorable. Billing is issues. Not sure about shared bath situation

Regency Place is only concerned about making money. My mother has resided at Regency Place for 5 years. Her rent has been raised [removed] every year. To get a toilet repaired takes numerous requests. Their staff changes frequently because they pay next to nothing instead of paying a decent wage and keeping people. I would look elsewhere.

Best thing was their friendliest. Need improvement on telling the truth, in following through on promises, in keeping their word, and mostly on patient care when they're to ill to call for and demand attention. Ex. AC did not work in patient's room so portable one brought in with promise it would be fixed tomorrow. Blew very cold air in one spot and so loud conversation was difficult. Never got fixed. Ex. 2. Promised neck-chain alert was never provided nor substituted. Ex. 3 Sick patient was allowed to lay 6 hours without anyone even opening his door to even look in. Our family's experience was such that we could recommend this place only if standards for patient care were improved and honesty became their policy.

Lanier Place; entry to the facility is in the assisted-living section which seem well appointed. However, memory care is behind locked doors. It is dark and furnishings are very old. The one nurse seemed to remain in her office assessed my dad wants and not sure she interacted with him after. There were a few staff members that seem very diligent to do their work and help. Especially [name removed], the activity Director. The family was told that dad fell during the night. When I inquired about it the offsite Director said it did not happen. He Indicated that the family must be fibbing about the situation. At this point we knew that the new place was not for us.

I would tell others to beware. Make sure that they explain everything thoroughly before you move in. Once I moved in, they increased my monthly rate and they did not tell me that I needed to provide my own furniture. Overall. I would not recommend to others who are looking.

My first impression of the community during our tour was it needed some serious deep cleaning. There where boxes piled up all over the place and the building was not well maintained. The dinning room had dishes everywhere and the carpet had many stains. My loved one was not impressed and would not even consider living in this environment.

Regretfully, this is not the place for an individual with Parkinson's. PROS: Staff is polite. Facility is clean, is getting complete overhaul (carpet, paint, furniture etc), is centrally located, and some rooms have screened-in porch. CONS: Rooms are smaller than many comparable's for same price, staff will not assist moving residents from room to dining area, staff will not bring food to rooms if patient cannot make dining hours, confusion amongst staff members on patient care policies and no follow-up from management on known concerns. [removed] We have since visited multiple facilities and selected another that is only a few years old, same price, bigger rooms, on a lake, good location, familiar with Parkinson's and cruise-ship like service.

White Oaks communities seem very nice. This facility seems to need a bit of work, nevertheless they were very nice. It is a bit outdated and they seemed surprised that we were coming (or maybe unprepared for us). Very nice activities director Beverly. After the search took us so many different places, we are more inclined to be looking more north than in the center of Cumming.

My mom lived at Avery and it was awful and she was moved to another facility - they are non-caring and never available. If you do not care about your loved one then this is the place for you. Her care and safety were truly a problem. Staff always arguing and changed often. Phone rang off the hook and you could never reach anybody and if message left they never returned call.

My dad was there 4 weeks. I was very transparent regarding the status of my dad before signing the contract and they said they could handle his care. After signing, I visited weekly and asked how things were going. They never said things were an issue. They sent my dad to the hospital for a non urgent issue. I told them his nurse could come fix it at the facility but they sent him anyway. After the ambulance picked up my dad they called me and told me he Could not return and could not care for him. Zero notice. They made my dad, someone with dementia, homeless. Caused him unnecessary medical expenses just because the owner didn’t want him there. This place and the 4 other facilities the owner runs should be shut down. If they did this to my dad, how many others have they done this to? I do not recommend this facility unless you want your life turned upside down and expenses piled up that didn’t have to occur. All they had to do was give us our right to a 30 day notice. Horrible!

The American flag out front hasn't been fixed in months... all the stripes on the flag are going in their own directions. I asked them about it, and they said the flag pole pulley was broken. MORE THAN 3 MONTHS to fix this problem and they haven't.

It is very sad that this place is all about money and not about care. I strongly urge you to look elsewhere for your loved ones care. They look very good on the surface, but in reality the care is substandard

I had a friend that decided to move here with the help of [name removed]promises she would be in great hands . What a horrible mistake that was! She ended up living here for a year and some change before I was able to get her out. She became so depressed and crying every time I would leave. This place sucked the life outta her. She literally became bedridden while she was here. Each time I visited I never saw the same caretaker. I wouldn't leave my dog here! There is a Happy ending... I moved my friend out in [date removed]and she has her joy back she's smiling now and she is well taken care of. What a difference I she in her! I wouldn't recommend this place for no one you care for!

I would never recommend Avery place to any family. They need to hire more educated caretakers for the common room provide for the residents That. need to be turned in their beds. There are no available assistants to leave the common room to go to the rooms that are bedridden to turn that resident. I found that the meals that were sparse in amount
